Saw this movie last night. It was so intense, because there was actually a lot of character development that tackled issues like being a father any raising a family in general through the build up, which makes you care more about these characters It was very unique and I recommend it to any horror fan or metal head for the soundtrack
If the subject matter (children in harm) is something you can stomach in a work of fiction, see it ASAP. It's one of the best made movies that I have seen yet this year, horror or not. The trailer does not do this movie's overall quality justice, or give a clear indication of just how intense it becomes by the end (where the fantastic metal soundtrack helps).
Hm may have to watch a comedy afterward but I'm definitely intrigued. Lol Always appreciate an actually creative and well developed horror movie. Thanks for the info :)
Ok, I'll say it. Everyone seems to forget the fat guy was the psychic priest from Constantine. Did he actually survive that weird self-drowning by alcohol and turned into a demon?
This is one of the best horror movies hands down. There's actual character development and the suspense doesn't get boring or overdone. 10/10. recommend highly for anyone who loves horror/thrillers.
The use of the goat is has two symbolisms: 1- it is the representation of the uterus with the falopian tubes looking like horns, because satanist do sacrifice rituals with newborn babies, so the woman that gives birth is impregnated against her will! 2.- The goat as the head of Baphomet represents the mocking of the lamb of god cause it is a demon antropomorphized into a transexual goat! Pretty disgusting I know!
Saw this movie last night & I was literally screaming out loud!! The movie was so intense & disturbing it really holds your attention the entire time!!
I would have to take my dogs out at 11 oclock at night after watching this!! In all its entirety, this movie floored me. The amazing soundtrack, acting, character development (in an hour and 19 minutes no less!) and filmography just captivated me until the very the end. The end itself is worth the intense battle getting there, one that really makes you think about what you just watched. Very seldom do we see a work of horror that does not rely on jumpscares but just pure adrenaline-pumping instances that are so chillingly realistic. If you really enjoy this movie, I would suggest The Witch which released last year. It does not rely on the stereotypical genre-based jumpscares and builds up confusion and tenseness. Very well done all in all with this movie and I can't wait for Sean Byrne's next work.
I just watched this. Amazing soundtrack if you like metal. Very impressed with cinematography considering its an independent film. I was blown away at the fire scene near the end.
Best soundtrack I've heard in a long time. I was actually rooting for the family because I liked them (which is rare)...and I like the fact that it didn't bother getting too gorey. Excellent film.
If, like me, you’ve been putting this off, and the trailer doesn’t g t your juices flowing, again, like me, don’t worry. Watch it now, I implore you. Whatever preconceptions you have are wrong. If you like horror I’m general, you will like this, and I guarantee it. This is an incredibly watchable film, and moreover is a damn good horror. Don’t listen to the people banging on about death metal or whatever, this is just a solid horror that has all that you’re looking for and more. If you liked Pruitt Taylor Vince in Constantine, you’re gonna love this. And even if you didn’t, there are lifetime best performances from him and Ethan Embry, and you’ll love this anyway. Gutted I waited so long to watch it. It is truly one of the best horrors in recent years.
Great story, awesome actors, killer soundtrack and totally underrated! It should have been more popular, then again maybe that's a good thing. Like how we love certain genres of music that's only for a chosen few.
If you haven't seen it yet, you want to go right now. This is great on so many levels and instantly one of my favorites. The bond you are carefully made to have with this family creeps up on you. I have 3 daughters and 😅 I went and just looked in on them while they sleep. The writing is that good. The music and heavy metal "theme was used to perfection and made this original as hell.
My roomate was watching this & asked me to join. I said ok, but just a few minutes. I packed a fresh bowl...hour & a half later the credits roll and I hadn't even touched the bowl. As a Horror fan, I give it 2 thumbs up. Its disturbing, well-acted, well-Directed & wonderfully shot...lets not forget the heavy metal soundtrack. YES!!! Ethan Embry is barely recognizable & it had great cameo's from other 90's actor's you'll be like "Heyyy THAT guy!" Seriously tho, heavy shit. Loved it.
I honestly watched this 3 times already. I don't know what it is about the movie. I just appreciate a great plot, beautiful visuals, and addicting music!! A + as far as I'm concerned, and I'm a very harsh horror film critic.
After watching this movie I could totally see how Ethan emery was considered for the role of Rick Grimes on the walking dead ..talk about a physical transformation I barely recognized him
Dammit this movie is so good!!! Every single time Pruitt Taylor Vince plays a role I ALWAYS feel so bad for him!!! He seems like he’s so sweet but caught up in some serious sh*t and since he’s such an amazing actor he makes you feel so sorry for him!!! Every time!! Dammit Pruitt Taylor Vince!! You’re too good!!
hey ryu benz have you seen this movie? i see what you mean by self centered dick head, but i watched this with my family and they all hated it and my family is horror fanatics. but it wasn't my place to come and ruin peoples vibes. sry, also im just used to my family all having the same taste so
It was Literally the worst horror movie I’ve seen ever.. and I’ve seen many. There are soo many loose ends and shitty attempts at a scare that I stopped watching like 3/4 of the way.
Just watched. It was pretty damn good. Shows the devil how he works & how strong god & a parents love is. This shows you basically the devil in real life.
This movie is directed by Sean Byrne, the guy who made the awesome The Love Ones (2009), it got screened in festivals two years ago and it took forever to get released, wich is weird considering the reviews has been pretty good. I really hope he doesn't take 8 more years to release his next movie.
Was shocked when narrator said Ethan Embry , I did not at all recognize him. He'll always be Mr Papageorgio from Vegas Vacation to me..."Like a fella once said, ain't that a kick in the head..."
How in the HELL is that Ethan Embry!!!???? What!!?? I can’t get over him in Can’t Hardly Wait and he wants to come on here all sexy and built with tattoos!!??? This movie looks amazing and I bet he’s pretty amazing in it too!! All of them seem to be especially Pruitt Taylor Vince….love him too!!
I've probably only liked like five horror movies out of a thousand I watched, and this was one of them. This is not a gore-flick, but it is a movie about a deranged psychopath and I generally am skeptical about when a movie is about a coo-coo head, but this one is really good. It has some psychological horror aspects in it and will take you for a roller coaster of emotions near the halfway point, it starts off strong also, so theres no boring build-up, its very precise in it's execution. I do NOT watch B rated movies or cheesy shit and I also rarely comment on a random movie trailer.
What I would like to know is what song is playing during the part where they show Jesse painting what would be the final version of the painting (with the goat head).
Ethan Embry, needs to be put in more movie rolls with A-list celebrities. Because Ethan is very talented guy . So if any A- celebrities out there like Tom Hanks Denzel Washington Chris Hemsworth Zac Efron Melissa McCarthy and Jennifer Lawrence Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones the list could go on. So if anyone can help get in touch with his manager and see what y'all can work it out. And maybe he can guest star on Saturday Night Live. Ethan is a funny guy.
I got tired of yelling at the TV while watching this stoopid-ass movie I convinced myself it was a horror themed comedy I was watching the whole time ..

Dylan Sada Hpjajavlpx
true.
And he was in The Walking Dead as well.
Ok, I'll say it. Everyone seems to forget the fat guy was the psychic priest from Constantine. Did he actually survive that weird self-drowning by alcohol and turned into a demon?
Mr.Bushido what the fuck does this have to do with Constantine?
Mr.Bushido go back further he's been acting a long time watch Jacob's ladder
I like your theory :D
Mr.Bushido lol I think he's also the hypnotist in "office space" that has a heart attack
Really..No one mentions the mentalist..? :P
I "Can't Hardly Wait " to see this.
Killer 90's Ethan Embry joke, ya'll.
Remy Carreiro touche'

Best soundtrack I've heard in a long time. I was actually rooting for the family because I liked them (which is rare)...and I like the fact that it didn't bother getting too gorey. Excellent film.
Yeah, it had some nice music, Megadeth’s The Conjuring would have made it even better.
Ha, this was actually a fun ride. Pruitt Taylor Vince is a national treasure, truly one of the best character actors you've never heard of.
This movie was incredibly intense! The imagery was haunting and beautiful it stays with you long after you watch it
The music in this film is awesome! One of my favorite horror films, IFC company has made so many great movies
Otis?? But Shane killed you back in season 2 of The Walking Dead :/

This movie will be a classic. It's got a deep story and really draws you in! Love ♡

One of the best movies I saw in a while. It wasn't filled with jump scares like the horror movies today. There was theory, just beautiful
The Loved Ones was great. Excited to see the director's next film!
Me too!!!
A rare gem. A film that actually cares about being 'art'. 'My demons be driven ... beckon the call.'
is that what the voice says? so eerie

One of my favorite horror movies!
Their needs to be a season of this.
Exellent horror.
Not many films build a genuine feeling of dread. This one does. Albeit a little short in length.
After watching this movie I could totally see how Ethan emery was considered for the role of Rick Grimes on the walking dead ..talk about a physical transformation I barely recognized him

Legit disturbing movie. I definitely recommend it. Not sure why there are so many haters for it. But then again, you could say that about most things.
