the thing about a girl knowing kungfu is to make more beleivable that a woman who normally has less muscle mass than a man can kick butt. Its the same as small miyagi defeating double sized Kreese. And the men getting punched, or being goofy is because its funny to see a man getting punched. You can´t have an animated series were a women gets punched, like how Mario gets punched by DK and Bowser. Maybe it could work if a woman fights a woman, then its less violent and more accepted.
i think the mario movie was a movie about mario and other characters of the video game. proof? i seen it, so ____ bro, mario is a human. obviously hes not gonna murder a fuckin gorilla without help LOL Peach is human too, but she says that since she was a baby, people of the mushroom kingdom have been training her for what, 20 years? however old shes suppose to be. idk who tim pool is but i feel like it would be better if he focuses on something else instead of analyzing too hard on a kids movie
Peach lived there for nearly her entire life. Of course she would do the course in one take. And of course it would take mario plenty of tries because he just got there when he was an adult.
To be honest thats not good enough. That doesnt mean she cant have weaknesses In the games she gets hurt just like mario We dont know if shes ever struggled at all throughout all her life
@@jakeystarsuper How about not being able to convince Cranky, failing to stop the Blue-shelled Koopa and losing her kong army, not being able to protect Toad and giving into Bowser. And blowing up the Bobomb which results in almost the death of all the kongs and luigi, and if not for Mario and DK the koopas and bowser would have captured her again. Same with Brooklyn when she, DK and Toad fight bowser they get defeated. In plenty scenes you see how worried and sad. Remember this movie is about Mario and Luigi so the focus is on them, you can show too much the feelings and thought of other characters, there is no time.
@@arturobravo701 Im just talking about physically if you seen her actions in the movie she was countering everything bowers enemies was throwing at her. like it was nothing. She could've defeated bowser herself if she wanted too since she has in the games. but since this isn't her movie that aint the case. peach doesn't show any physical weakness in the movie at all. And this is supposed to be female empowerment that women want? also the movie was too short they could've made it longer. beside cranky tagged along anyway so it didn't matter
This Tim pool response is a perfect spoiler review of the super Mario bros movie. Tp has some good opinions but he keeps getting it wrong when it comes to movies. Maybe he spends too much time looking at woke stuff that he sees it everywhere.
I went into The Mario Movie with every expectation of wokeness...and I was pleasantly surprised! It was wholesome goodness that my kids and I genuinely enjoyed! ( and yes..Tim has terrible movie takes...) 😋
If I recall, Peach fucks up when setting off the kingbomb (I don’t remember his name) later in the film. She’s not a girl boss. She’s the film’s equivalent to Kids from Atlantis-competent royalty.
Okay I got nothing for my 3rd comment, but I've done my duty. Now I should watch from the beginning so I can make a video on this horrible defense of WOKENESS. I'll title it 'I Just Peed Mexican just shat on Tim Pool's AWESOME insights to the TOTALLY serious Mario movie'
Months after the release of the movie and having time to sit through it I got the feeling that there was something wrong or disturbing to me about Peach and it has nothing to do with her being a woman. What I get annoyed is the usual trend of today that women are capable and awesome just for being. Hear me out. I get the movie tries to explain stuff and why Peach is so capable, but it makes no sense if you really think about it. Her knowing how to use power ups make sense, but knowing Kung fu and being a kicker? Why would she? To defend the Toads? I dont know why Toads would know someting like kung fu to teach her. Now, you can still be a great leader and strong without having to know kung fu. What I also got annoyed is that they changed her character a lot. Now in some parts it makes sense like you cant always have a cute princess for every scene, but in my taste they made her too agresive and too cocky, which also reminds me of modern day potrayel of women. And I like Peach in the games a lot, there are some instances where the movie one reminds me of her but mostly she feels too agresive as to show girls today that they can be as badass. This all sums up that in the end in my opinion they made a less interesiting character. I wanna know Peach and her struggles. It would have been smarter to build her up as her own heroe in the coming movies, instead of being a super hero from the get go. Because then there is no way to grow for that character. We had growth with Mario and Luigi, why cant we have it with her? People say why would Mario save a princess he never met, but they could have changed that. They could have changed so that she is from Brooklyn and already knows Mario, is his date or sometihng and she supports him like Luigi, she gets kidnapped and Mario has to rescue her. It would have been the same movie with a more interesting Peach. She would have to get stronger and fight her way through Bowser. ANd then becoming the princess that we know. I like to know your opinion. I might be wrong and maybe in the next movies they really build her up as a good character that resembles more the one from the games. I hope so. But for the moment I am a bit cautiously optimistic. I have been fooled before(force awakens-last jedi).
I will say Princess peach saying "Mario isn't important" threw me off. It's kinda messed up. it's out of character The real princess peach would never say that. they could easily made peach explain real quick to why Mario is going with her. Mario lost his brother and needs help finding him. Sounds important to me

Girl characters being kung fu masters is a common trope since the 90s

I agree with Tim on a lot of stuff. But he is wrong on the Mario movie. And I’m pretty sure he didn’t even see it.

Can't forget the part where Mario got cucked off screen. And the others don't mention it in the movie, because it would be kink shaming.
