音をもたてず　あふぎ見る　木の根めぐりて　水清く　おちくる瀧の　　　
白絲の　名に流れつつ　岩のまに　ましろに靡き　磐の上に　　　　　　　
かあをによられ　さくなだり　ちれるみなわの　青玉と　磐根にまろび　　
しら玉と　磐まに浮ぶ　しが玉を　ひりひあつめて　しが絲に　　　　　　
ぬくよしもがも　御統（みすまる）の　五百箇（いほつ）つどひを　　　　
家づとにせむ

'A waka composed after spending time in Hakone, then bathing in the hot springs of Dōjima, and later visiting the Shiraito Falls.'
In the deep mountains of Hakone, the waterfall's sound echoes through the hills and resonates within the valleys. The air outside is cold and still. As I gaze up, the waterfall, known as 'White Thread,' cascades gracefully, weaving around the tree roots. It flows pure and white between the rocks, fluttering like a thread, surging over the bluish-black rocks. The spray scatters into blue bubbles, and white droplets tumble over the rock's base, floating like beads between the stones. It feels as if one could collect these beads, stringing them together into a necklace of five hundred pearls to take home as a keepsake.
