I think you should check for vital signs after the procedure before removing the long makintosh and blanket. This is because, what if you remove and make patient comfortable and after you check temperature and didn't drop by 1 degree .You would have to repeat everything which would be stressful
I suggest you take off the sheet from the patient for us to know the areas of the body where the towels are placed just for the sake of demonstration because is not every person who knows where the towels for the tepid are placed. Thanks
Thanks for your comment. The towels are placed; one in each armpit, 2 in the groin and one on the forehead. Patient's are not supposed to be exposed, that is also part of the teaching.
@@faustinaamoyaw-darko4776 The groin is the area in the body where the upper thighs meet the lowest part of the abdomen. So it includes the area between the thigh and the genitalia. In tepid sponging you will put one flannel in the left groin and another flannel in the right.
Procedure are meant to be explained as you do it… I have watch many of your videos and they are nice but, the procedure aren’t explained neither is there any writing on to explain exactly what they and how the do it… pls in your next video explain the procedures so we can also know them
Thanks for the feedback. In NMC Ghana exams, u don't explain procedure while doing it (I mean in exam situation) but for teaching purposes I will do an explained version of all the tasks here.
The temperature should reduce (but you can't say 'always' in science). And you need to recheck to know how much it reduced n also to have a value to chat on the tpr sheet/write in the nurses' notes. As for the pulse its 'usually' high when the temperature is high because the heart tries to beat faster to meet immunologic demands during an infectious process, which means the pulse rate will go down when temperature goes down.
Cold water will cause sudden change in patient's temperature which can lead to other problems so 'tepid' water is rather used which is a little below the normal human temperature.
While doing the task you are supposed to take all the vital signs. This is a demonstration so some of the things I sometimes write on the screen for you.
Do you mean the one who sells it? At the hospital environment you take your items from the facility stores but if you need to buy mackintosh you can get a rubber from the market for that purpose or buy the thick rubber (it's thick like a carpet but has a uniform color) and use for that purpose.
@@frederckntori659you have a point but things taught in schools are not only for practice but sometimes to provoke thinking and provide basis for ingenuity. Why do we learn parts of a sentence in English grammar? In speaking or writing English who will ask you the parts of the sentence? Merely speaking (familiarizing with) a language will give you command over it, and make you speak or write very well in that language but why hustle to learn all the technicalities of it? I think its to provoke your thinking faculty as basis for learning other things.
One day when a particular patient does not respond to medication (anti pyretic) then you will understand the essence of these old nursing skills. 'No knowledge is a loss'
U did well but it doesn't favor us Because the patient is adult confidentiality seek doesn't favor us some of the procedure that has to do with private part please will encourage you to use Domy instead so that we will able to observe everything you will do for the patient thanks
That is the part they left the patient covered with only top sheet for 15 to 20minutes (the duration was written as a subtitle), pls check. After that when she's (the patient) all dried up you can then cover her fully - of course per her preference. Thanks for the comment.

That's a great idea. Noted
Nice one👍 but next time please explain as you go😀 no need putting music.

@@nursingart247 in the groin is where exactly

Bless you sis
These videos are very helpful
I am really enjoying this video bt with too much privacy I can't see where u guys r placing the towel
Sister please I didn’t get the procedure well can I get note on it
Am new here 😊
Well done🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️
Thank you sister 🙏
So please u didn’t speak of the areas that you placed the towel
Good
Thanks for the video but next time you need to explain which areas to put the towels so as to avoid lack of privacy, thanks so much sister
Exactly 😒

Wowwww....i love this😮❤
You checked the temperature twice....are there cases where the temperature will not be reduced???
And what happens to the pulse rate..?

Why don't you use cold water because the patient have high temperature
Cold water will cause sudden change in patient's temperature which can lead to other problems so 'tepid' water is rather used which is a little below the normal human temperature.
I thought you would have taken all the vital signs but you took only temperature
While doing the task you are supposed to take all the vital signs. This is a demonstration so some of the things I sometimes write on the screen for you.
You should wear disposable gloves
Naa we don't wear it for tepid sponging
Can you tell us who the supplier is of the long mackintosh, please

I suggest u remove the sheet I want to see the areas where u tepid sponging
Pls watch this to know the areas th-cam.com/video/UkzcPI9VreY/w-d-xo.html
Please how did she explain the procedure to the patient???
th-cam.com/video/j4WlbbPSups/w-d-xo.html pls watch this for explaining procedure
@@nursingart247 Thank you
This is si kabour intensive. In UK we just give paracetamol straight away. I prefer your method, but it just doesn't happen here.
Yes its really not done in practice but its taught in school.
We are learning the old nursing style here if it is not practice anymore why learning it in school

Remember the forehead and the back has to be dried up. But though thank for the video ❤
You guys didn’t use gloves
Watch this th-cam.com/video/UkzcPI9VreY/w-d-xo.html
Didn’t see you making use of sponge
In tepid sponging you only use the sponge when you identify some part of the body is dirty and requires washing. So the sponge is used when necessary.
I think creating privacy should be down before washing of hands.......

hey 👋🏽
Pls why didn't the nurses wear gloves
Are you not supposed to wear gloves 🧤
No
Gloves are needed
Dis was actually not helpful cos we don’t see where u put the towel .
th-cam.com/video/UkzcPI9VreY/w-d-xo.html watch this to know where the towels were placed
That's wrong move, after tepid sponge u don't cover the patient up like the way u did. U only leve the patient with top sheet
