Hi there, It sure is a beautiful place but so difficult to get to. Our desert Safari was very organized for us. There were about 30 different guides and 4x4’s. We had to have a permit, guide and pay a fee for clearance with the Egyptian military. We entered at 3pm and we had to be out by 7pm. There is a one mile buffer zone with Libya and helicopters do check for tire tracks or for rogue travellers. I guess it’s a good idea to have a good guide 😂 Thanks for watching my video :) More interesting travels coming up! Off to the Forgotten Islands next!
@@jillpemberton1434 yes I live in siwa lm from siwa actually but not all people from siwa watching like this video be cause English and l think people not expected there is someone make a good video like this for siwa
Hi there, Thanks for watching our video and for taking the time to connect with us. We were in Egypt in early May and the weather was perfect! The desert was cool in the evening but pleasant. I’m not sure what the weather would be like in August but I would assume hot. Siwa was amazing we loved our time there! A must go see place! It’s a real adventure! Please feel free to reach out if you anymore questions Cheers, Jill and Randy
Hi there, Oh my gosh... I am laughing as I read your comment! Yes, yes the bus from hell!!!!! Getting there was so awful !!! However, for us we stayed almost a week and it's one of my favorite adventures! I love the desert safari that was arranged for us, We had such a beautiful place to stay ( Sleep in Siwa) and the owner was so helpful with us, Randy said "no way to the bus" on the return! We had help arranging a car back to Cairo and it was only 7-8 hours. Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. We really appreciate you taking the time to write. Stay tuned! Cheers, Jill
@@jillpemberton1434We definitely enjoyed ourselves after a while, and the olive oil, dates, and other foods were incredible, but we think once was enough 😊 Did you make it to Dahab? We love Dahab!
Hi, thanks for watching our video. Yes we loved Siwa. All of the vehicles going into the desert have to register with Egyptian authorities. And there is a no go zone close to the Libya border. There have been some confrontations here, but no concerns where we were. We really hope you can check it out one day.
The history here is truly fascinating. 😊👍Thanks for taking the time to comment and for subscribing! It means the world to us, as we grow our channel. We will continue to go to interesting places but also check out real estate. We need to find a place to live.
Thanks for the history lesson on European colonization of Africa and Middle East.

I’ve been to Egypt 10 times, and our last time we visited Siwa. It was a hell of a bus ride. Would not do it again.

Beautiful place and amazing people….. but is a bit dangerous there, often the Egyptian Army attacks those 4x4 using helicopters.
