The pressure sensitivity issue might have something to do with sketchbook pro. They don’t seem to support anything other than Wacom. I love using sketchbook pro on my surface but wanted a bigger screen. I got a xp-pen tablet and was looking forward to using it but sketchbook is unusable on it. No pressure sensitivity and lines are really wobbly. Looking into it sketchbook say they don’t support cheaper products. I ended up using krita and it’s a better experience, which is a pity as sketchbook was my go to.
I was surprised to see it working well in Sketchbook Pro, as they have stated that they don’t support non-Wacom devices. I got a Gaomon for my main PC, the the pressure sensitivity in Sketchbook is non existent.
@@2damnpretty2die12 Glad it helped. Took me a few weeks to figure out. Apparently some newer displays from XP Pen and Huion work natively though I haven't been able to confirm yet. (Something about them working with a newer driver design.)
I can tell someone's been playing a lot of Red Dead 2 recently. The wife and I still use non-screen tablets. Sounds like a dream to be able to draw on the screen. The only display tablet I've ever tried was a Wacom from a few years ago at Comicon and there was a delay that would have put me off even if it didn't cost a couple grand. Maybe they had it set up wrong or maybe people are used to it, I don't know. For $320, this sounds amazing though.

Mind me asking your helpful advice, how much memory and storage should I buy, if I use it for illustrations and animation? My old one loads my software apps slow, even freezes unknowingly. 4:48 You just kept adjusting the initial pressure, so you still had to press equally hard to get full pressure (that you described exhausting), to not need to press as firm to get max pressure sensitivity you should move the top right square further down.
I tried all points of adjustment and got no change in the response from the pen. I understand what you're saying, but adjusting any of those points had no impact on the pressure response.
My only experience with drawing on a Wacom was an Intuos Pro for a digital arts class where I didn't know if the buttons were programmed and I didn't even bother to try to use them, so it was pretty much just the tablet. You think that using this tablet would be a good investment?

I lean more towards XP Pen. Especially the Artist 12. From my experience it is the best bang-per-buck. The Huion Pro might be a good alternative once they fix the Tilt Sensor issue. (Apparently the screen detects the tilt and causes Line Wobble at slower draw speeds.)
I'm wanting to draw a comic series and was planning to do it traditionally but digital would be best, i think. It's just a passion project maybe get my name out there a bit but would this be just fine for that?
@Trent how does the tablet feel delay wise, i have used 2 different citiq's before and even thos felt "slow" compaired to the Ipad pro. have you drawn on the Ipad pro yet? if so, what Cintiq like device feels on the same level of responseiveness?
no delay. That was never an issue. These days, pen delay has more to do with the processing power of your computer than the device. At least, that's been my experience. As for drawing on an iPad, it's a fun sketchpad type of experience, but I would never try to do final artwork on one, since it would take twice as long without the quick keys of a keyboard. From my experience the only thing like a Cintiq is... a Cintiq. All of the competitors that I've tried are just not up to the quality of performance on a Cintiq. But you pay for that in the price tag.
I have a question, can you put the thing on the back with the rubber on it away? Because since now Ive only been drawing with pen and paper so i think its kinda strange for me to draw on a drawing-tablet, which is in a 45° angle... Anyways, thanks for the video that really helped alot

No. It needs to be connected to a windows or mac computer. Its just a display. There's no operating system inside. You also cannot run it off of an ipad or anything.
I like my xp-pen tablets, I have gotten more use out of those than my wacom tablets. I would never pay 2-3k for a drawing monitor and I have used Wacoms since the 90's. I would like a cintiq but can't justify spending that much when you can do the same thing on a tablet that cost 20 - 30% less. But most artist say Wacom is what pro's used, like Maya for 3d instead of Blender or Mac's instead of PC's for development. From a journeyman's point of view the tool or software only matter based on the company you are working for. When you are doing your own thing or freelance. Only thing matters is getting the job done.
I got Wacom Cintiq Companion Hybrid for $300 practically brand new on Ebay. The android part is total shit, but it's 100% just a Cintiq 13 HD when you plug it into your computer. For the fraction of the price. I feel, if you're serious about digital art, you should invest in the best and never settle for less, even if you have to go without. Always go Cintiq.
Ok this is great, since you have other cintiqs and what not...maybe you can give me this one since i never drawn on a display tab i would be fine adjusting or just getting to love it. Thanks
I wouldn't recommend that. I tried to mention it a few times, but the Veikk Is not nearly as good as a wacom. If you have a wacom, this will feel like a downgrade, even though you are drawing on the screen.
Get the new huion kamvas 13, it's just as good as the Wacom cintiq 13 but 3x more affordable. It's a bit more expensive then the tablet shown in the video but is probably one of the best tablets out there for the money. @@whisperess Oh, in that case, you just need to recalibrate. The software allows you to determine where you want to place the cursor in relationship to where the pen touches the glass. This shouldn't be an issue with ANY tablet that allows you to calibrate your pen.
@@TrentKaniuga it's very common with low end tablet displays. Wacom used to have it until their newer displays. The curser should line up directly to the pen tip out the gate

In this case, it was the Veikk software itself. It just didnt change at all in photoshop or sketchbook pro.

Try using the Windows Ink settings for the XP Pen driver.

I record a lot of videos, so I had to get the 1 TB MacBook . But if you're not recording videos, you can get away with a 5oo GB.

For anyone wondering, those line wobbles on Huion Pro's have been fixed about a year ago. So no fear of that really in 2022.

I'm sure that you could unscrew it and remove it permanently. Sure. But it's not attachable. It's built into the device.

So comparing something like this to like a Cintiq 13HD this might be a better option than dropping the $7-900 for the Wacom if it's your first device?

Can't you draw in 1080p? Cause you said you can bump it up to just 1900x600 but that's not full hd (1920x1080)
