I think the drowning glitch might not only happen when you sit at the cockpit, but rather only happened there for you because when you sit at the cockpit your spacesuit gets unequipped
What's most terrifying to me about being outside the supernova range is just how empty space is. The ship looks wrong on a backdrop of pyre dark and it's extremely unsettling
I've had nightmares about the sun exploding like this, so the first time I saw this in-game, it was pretty freaky. Also, I was on the Attlerock using the Eye Locator when it first happened, so I wasn't entirely sure if I had somehow caused it lol
same experience, i was just walking out of the ruins so i thought maybe it happened whenever you explore an important location. took me a few loops to realize it was the sun too, i just saw a giant blue light in the sky and died i kind of thought it was a portal or something lol
I was on the solar outlook station at the north pole of the Attlerock, just staring at how big and red the sun is, and then all of a sudden it started shrinking and went supernova and I was like wtf? And then in the next life I realized just how big and red the sun had gotten last time
So the "You Are Dead" ending triggers anytime you die while disconnected from Ash Twin Project, and the "meditate" button just makes you die. Even though you're already safely outside the supernova's blast radius, and meditating would honestly be the first thing I'd do, the game still treats it like you just couldn't handle it long enough to get to the isolation ending time.
Echoes of the Eye Spoiler!: . . . . . Funnily enough, with the DLC it turns out you dont actually die when pressing meditate, since if you meditate next to a campfire its like you went asleep instead. It doesn't enter you in a death state as you might expect.
for the weird black hole/drowning glitch I think I know what's going on. two checks run when the player is underwater, first, is the player's head underwater and second, is the player in the ship/has their spacesuit on. when exiting the ship, the game sets PlayerIsInShip to false (that's probably not the actual name of the variable, but lets go with it). and since the player warps into the ship when entering the black hole at the same time as the ship, the variable is still set to false. However, if the player has the spacesuit on, the helmet gets automatically put on when underwater unless the player is in the cockpit. Since both PlayerIsInShip and PlayerHasSuitOn are false during this glitch, the game assumes the player should drown. A simple fix to this bug would be when the player enters the cockpit that PlayerIsInShip gets set to true. Although, this glitch has probably been patched by now.
actually one funny thing you can do is throw your scout at one of the standing skeleton in lakebed caves and when you flash your light sometimes it does weird things like going out of bounds. It's very inconsistent though
Their collision changes with their state change and, to my knowledge, just dislodges the scout. I'd like to test further or see footage to get what you mean
@@quantumblauthor7300 I've definitely had it happen where sometimes they get transported into a nearby wall and start falling. I think it's because the skeletons probably use multiple models and store the ones they don't need out of bounds (that's my guess at least). Don't have a video sorry, and I've tried testing it at some point but it was very inconsistent so I never figured out what triggered it exactly, was always on a standing skeleton though
for the last one, i tried to do that on the quantum moon and got confused when it just said you are dead also, the music at the start immediately made me think of wand of sparking lol
I’d guess because of how meditation works with [redacted] you’re simply dying with a different death sound and wake up Sound at least from the game’s perspective
@@Greg_Boing That might be true, but you do get put into the dream when meditating near Stanger flames. Though they might have just added that interaction and everywhere else it's just a death button. Actually, now I'm wondering if meditating always kills you then that might also explain the dream, since dying next to the flame also triggers it. Maybe test out if after meditation you can still wake up from the dream.
@@basicbirch I'm fairly sure that dying in the dream after you meditate will wake you up instead of just killing you, so I think you're right, it can't function in the exact same way that just dying does.
Well thinking about how meditating works, you're just clocking out from reality in wait of death, so naturally you wouldn't be trying to survive of rations in your ship as the ending text would normally say, as you'd just die in your sleep eventually.
Something similar happened to me in the drowning mythbuster. I fell into the black hole and spawned inside of my ship. I managed to buckle up and a few seconds later it seemed I had run out of oxygen. I took a clip and I saw that I as nowhere near running out of oxygen... Unrelated, but one time I was on Brittle Hollow and I just got randomly... pushed?? It didn't do any damage or anything and I didn't fall into the black hole. I think the Nomai ghosts are doing a lil trolling
2:58 I once fell through the black hole at the same time as my ship and immediately suffocated in my ship, quite annoyingly as I was trying to get to the Tower of Quantum Knowledge. I wonder if it was the same glitch, I see it didn't happen to you though even though you sat down at the cockpit.
5:35 Hey I just got this randomly recommended to me and you mentioned my supernova video! Thanks. One weird interaction I always trigger when I get to the Ash Twin Project Tower before the sand leaves completely is shooting my scout at the sand, usually right where the teleporter is going to be revealed. Since the sand is a constantly decreasing sphere, the scout on its surface follows it even when it sinks underground, and you can take pictures of the textureless subterranean geometry. I assume you can do that anywhere on the planet. I wonder if they patched it, being that it should be a common occurrence when so many people spend a minute there waiting for the sand column to loop back around.
Hey alright that was fun! I'll sub ya. Thanks for putting in the effort. It def is tricky to line all that up accurately to pull off these stunts. Beautifully challenging game.
what's the music starting at around 6minutes? I swear I've heard it before but I can't quite place it. My brain is going "stardew valley" and "pokemon mystery dungeon" for some reason but I feel like both are wrong.
@@Greg_Boing Thank you! quick answer too =p was driving me nuts but I can see why I couldn't place it, I've played terraria but bounced off everytime I tried it so I've definitely heard it but not a lot haha
That's a good idea actually, I imagine you would just get the ending for being on the stranger after stopping the loop, although it begs the question of how the game determines what ending you get. I'll look into it sometime.
i have a myth :3 (dlc spoilers) if you meditate in a green fire room while holding an artifact the game treats it as if you fell asleep at the campfire and you get sent to the dream world, it even keeps your position from where you meditated from
i did this on accident too many times lmao i mess up my dream world stuff, meditate to reset the dam and get teleported back into the dream world anyway
this is actually how i first discovered the dream world i was like, stuck, and I had brought the artifact to the campfire in front of the prisoner. I was just trying things, and I was like "okay, its been too long, I need to restart the loop. I meditated, and then I was in the dream world the scariest part of the whole dlc was that moment
I used Decky Loader, and then got the Decky Recorder plugin. Works pretty well, just make sure when doing longer recordings to break up the recording here and there, it can struggle with saving large files properly.
Once you're outside the boundary of the supernova after it fades away, what would happen if you accelerate your ship towards it and get out? Would you see it just explode when it crosses the boundary?
Good question actually, I assume it’d just disappear similar to if you fly the ship into the sun. I’m planning on doing some updates to previous myths in the next vid, so I’ll probably check it out then
Simple, the supernova just can't happen at all until you are paired. The first loop is slighty non canon, it doesn't last 22 minutes - an allowance so that players don't suddenly die during the tutorial in the village. Instead, the loop events don't start until you are paired. (If you check the map in the observatory before being paired, you will see that the twin sand column never appears, hollow lantern never breaks, etc etc). When you get paired with the statue, the loop properly starts, and all planets get teleported to their starting positions in the loop.
@@Broken-bj8ly The zeroth loop is canon, it doesn't last 22 minutes because its BEFORE the ATP receives the eye location data. The Hatchling doesn't enter the last 22 minutes of their stars existence until the museum pairing sequence, because its at that point the ATP white hole opens, sends the eye data from loop -1, and tells the masks to pair 22 minutes before star death.
@@yoshibear7526 this still doens't make sense though. You still wake up to the canon exploding, ergo you wake up 22 mins prior to the supernova - which happens regardless of you being paired.

You can easily get your scout out of bounds on ash twin by sticking it on the sand and waiting for the sand level to drop below the rocks.
for the last one, i tried to do that on the quantum moon and got confused when it just said you are dead
