MY PERSONAL RANKING OF EACH WORLD FROM WORST TO BEST... 8. Cave - While none of the world's actually suck, the Cave is the least enjoyable to me. Too many mine cart and rocket barrel stages. They are just repetitive. Even the boss is on a mine cart. Like ENOUGH ALREADY. Lol. 7. Jungle - A great introductory world. But it's easy (of course) and not memorable. The sound track is "ok" but nothing really stands out in this world for me. 6. Volcano - Sure, it's challenging as a final world should be, but it's too frustrating at times. It's very trial and error based at times and seems nearly unfair. The level Moving Melters is stupidly hard. 5. Cliff - This is the spot on my list where the world's get more interesting and memorable. The prehistoric vibe from Cliff is fun. The challenge level is just right and it doesn't wear out its welcome. (Expect for the level Perilous Platforms. That level can burn in hell.) 4. Beach - This world is pretty cool. Tidal Terror and Stormy Shore (the level with the octopus) and whale level are pretty good. The music is "meh." 3. Ruins - I like this world more than most people. Exploring abandoned temples, ships, and dungeons is a whole lot of fun to me. Itty Bitsy Spiders (3-6) is a bit annoying but the good music keeps it fresh. 2. Factory - This used to be my favorite world. It's not anymore but I still really like it. The whole "switch" aspect, the music, and the atmosphere in general is awesome. 7-1 (Foggy Fumes) is awesome with the whole silhouette thing going for it. 7-6 (Switcheroo) is Difficult but lots of fun. 1. Forest - I love this world. Not too hard, not too easy, it's just right. Swinging through the trees, barrel blasting, the music; everything. 5-1 (Vine Valley) has great music and it brings me back to the original Donkey Kong Country game.
My ranking: 9 - Volcano - This world is my least favorite in every way except music, which it barely gets second worst in. The levels are annoying and sometimes feel skill-based, I have a pet peeve against it because I've lost so many speedruns to it, and Moving Melters may just be the worst stage in the game. Not that I HATE volcano, but it doesn't have the same magic for me that a lot of DKCR worlds do. Hot Rocket, however, is golden and the reason why Volcano's soundtrack isn't the worst. 8 - Ruins - The winner of worst world soundtrack. I don't like that there are no cart or rocket levels here, and many of the levels blend together. Itty Bitty Biters is also like way too hard for world 3 for some reason. Still, Damp Dungeon and Ruined Roost are both pretty fun levels. Ruins also has some nice textures and the world looks nice. 7 - Golden Temple - Only one level, and tbh it was fun, but I wish they had extended it like in the 3ds version. It feels thematically disconnected from the rest of DKCR. 6 - Cave - At first, I was shocked at your placement of this world, but I have to say, I kinda get it! I wish there was a grounded level for this world (excluding that god awful Jagged Jewels). The boss is unfun as well. But I have to say that I really love Crowded Cavern and Bombs Away, despite the difficulty. And Mole Patrol is just so darn goofy. 5 - Jungle - I'm not in love with the aesthetic of this world for some reason. The soundtracks are fine but don't really bop. This is my unenthusiastic "this world is good" world. From this point on, it's going to be all upside. 4 - Beach - The thematic connection of the crab crew is fun, the levels feel distinct (except maybe Sloppy Sands and Cannon Cluster), and the soundtracks are agreeable. I really like Squiddicus as a pseudo-boss in Stormy Shore as well. He's the best pseudo-boss in the game. 3 - Cliff - I know I said the rest would be positive, but I gotta dump on Thugly a bit anyway. He's just lazy boss design. Anyway though, Cliff is a great world. It feels like a thematic successor to Ruins, much like Forest did for Jungle and Factory did for Cave. Cliff has some of the best level design in the game, and the levels are challenging but not arduous (except Perilous Passage). 2 - Factory - The music and aesthetics are the best in the game, with every track (even Switch Room) being a banger! And that's to say nothing of the brilliant level design and the amazing bossfight. Still, it's not as good as... 1 - Forest - What can I say? Each level is an adventure. Vine Valley is the best track in the game. Muncher Marathon is paced brilliantly. The scenery is beautiful. Factory may have the best aesthetics, but Forest utilizes them better. Playing through Forest is like wandering through a lucid dream. There's so much more I could say. Maybe I'll write a paper on it one day. Anyway, thought I'd throw my two cents in, happy Friday!

Similar to my theory on why there are animals floating in the middle of the ocean, I think that the Tiki Tak Tribe hypnotized the big animals into compromising positions once they were done using them so they wouldn't turn against them.
