The Wii might’ve not been a huge step up from the Gamecube hardware wise, but it’s presentation truly was on another level from Gamecube. As a kid it really seemed so futuristic. The home menu, sounds, controls and controller were unreal to me when it was new.
I wouldn't say they'd rip them out, but they probably dislodged them from the center bracket similar to how you would on the PS1, or literally any CD "Walkman" player at the time
I never knew the SNES's eject button was pressure sensitive or could be pressed multiple times, it seems like a lot of fun to even just launch games when you're bored lol
That was my FAVORITE part of owning a SNES, that and the fact that the first games had a locking mechanism on the cartridge so you couldn't eject them until you turned off the console.
@@justsayin4632 never had one not work though when I wanted to play it. Never had one break or bend. Remember some diet trays for PC's used to have a center you pushed the disc down onto, not just a groove to place it in, and those were also, at least to my knowledge, also removed using gentle force and never had any of those break or get scratched up either, so why would GC be different?
This was the first video from you that I watched! I liked the editing style of just a simple video game youtube short with no absolouteley no depth and i liked how mindless it felt to jsut watch you rank how hard it was to remove the games from your different consoles. as a fellow small game collector, i watched your other shorts and dropped a sub
as someone who has a genesis, the snes eject button sounds so convenient to have. i dont like pulling cartridges out of a genesis, especially not sonic 3 and knuckles
I find with genesis games that its far easier if you start removing it from one corner, then when it comes up on that side, pulling from the other corner. Far easier than pulling straight up
You can launch the cartridges on the Japanese NES, AKA the Famicom, but you have to use a slider to eject it, idk if it’s my console only, but It can be pretty resistant when I’m trying to eject cartridges on this system.
I fully agree with this list. As much as I love the Genesis, I feel like I risk breaking both my game and the console whenever I take the cart out. That thing really should’ve come with an eject button
Fun fact: taking out a SNES cartridge is technically the same as taking out a Genesis cart. The eject button was included on the SNES because they KNEW people would like it!
@HaloTropical. Wow never thought of doing that. We bought the original snd now we wish we bought the top loader just because sometimes I just give up on playing the NES because I don't wanna blow all day
Definitely agree on the SNES. Second for me would be the Switch with it's push and eject cartridge style. Both very easy to eject and seems very safe (sans the aggressive "launching" method you're using 🤣).
Dreamcast would definitely rank well, although probably second place. If only they had installed a catapult mechanism, then the Dreamcast would’ve sold way better.
@@HaloTropical no, there are different theories of what would Dreamcast should have had for it to sell better and this is totally not one of them. In fact it doesn’t need anything else other than a DVD player as its a perfect console. Its the brand appeal of PlayStation and degraded reputation of Sega combined with the lack of DVD that killed it
SNES sick gotta say, my main console experince is ps3 super slim and ps4 dont like the eject honestly. Ps3 ss had some mechanics at least slamming that door on feels kinda nice
Slot loading drives immediately jump to the top of my list, so the Wii U/PS3/XBONE would immediately be second place. The Wii would take the crown cause it has these nice blue LEDs 👑
I have the ps4 one time i got thsi disc stuck in the reader and we had to ipen the entire ps4 to get it out unlike the older consoles which you van just put a disc like that
In my opinion the PS5 (vertically standing ) deserves a Number 9 spot. The system is designed in a way where the printed side is the harder one to grab than the data side of the disc.
You need to clean the 64 and Genesis cartridge slot. There is a build up of dirt and grime that sticking to the cartridge. Or the cartridge slot over time and usage is bent. It would help but not solve the issue 100%
Yo the genesis is a whole mood. I literally broke the power input on my cuz they maje the tolerance so tight. Still haven't soldered that shit back on yet either.
Its funny that you mention that the wii ejects standing up and so can the ps3 but like- reverse that, the wii can do it horizontally too. The wii was designed to be that dynamic. Thats also why theres rubber feet on the left side. I ALWAYS have my wii in horizontal mode
I have my wii horizontal as well.. just not where the rubber feet are due to how my area is set up so I can have a good way to put the gamecube controller ports into the sockets
I like how ejecting the Wii game looks, but gravity takes issue with it I always have to have my hand below the disc incase gravity says its time for the disc to fall
The SNES is a catapult that can also play games
I've literally seen military personnel fire mortar shells out of the cartridge slot
💀
Wait until you see the launch-power on the Gamecube Gameboy player
So nice of Nintendo to include games with our catapult system
Yes play game then yeet game up in air
This video taught me you can press a button to remove gamecube games
I had no idea...
Me too. I was oblivious.
Dang I was about to say this comment. Haha I felt like I break the disk every time I pulled it out.
Same, I can’t fucking believe it.
Me too omg
I love Wii's disc drive. The sound and the light are both futuristic.
Absolutely. Still looks sleek approaching 20 years later
The Wii might’ve not been a huge step up from the Gamecube hardware wise, but it’s presentation truly was on another level from Gamecube. As a kid it really seemed so futuristic. The home menu, sounds, controls and controller were unreal to me when it was new.
I GET TO LAUNCH MY GAMES, I CAN LAUNCH MY GA-
HE CAN LAUNCH HIS GAME
i think he can possibly (just a thought) launch his games
me after getting an upgrade from windows 95 to windows 10 or 11 for steam
Omfg he can launch his stupid games. Might as well just keep launching them instead of playing them.
@@luminouseasportsfcsomeone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
The Wii is just satisfying
Best console
At 8th is the genesis im worried I’m going to break my game
40 seconds later
I CAN LUANCH MY GAMES
So maybe I could be more careful with the snes games, however pushing the eject button is safer then trying to rip them out of the snes.
I only don't launch my games because my consoles are on a shelf to the side of the TV so if I launch the snes games, it'll hit the top
It just blows my mind that people rip games out of the gamecube without pressing the button
Seriously it’s concerning the amount of people that are saying this is the first they’ve heard of this lol.
I wouldn't say they'd rip them out, but they probably dislodged them from the center bracket similar to how you would on the PS1, or literally any CD "Walkman" player at the time

That was my FAVORITE part of owning a SNES, that and the fact that the first games had a locking mechanism on the cartridge so you couldn't eject them until you turned off the console.
the best one i know of is the sega saturn. pulling the discs out and putting them in feels so satisfying
For some reason when i saw the ps3 on its side and you said "what would your father think about this?" I loled
The pull out on the n64 feels so clean though lol
I've had a Game Cube for 20 years and today was the first time I've ever heard of pushing the middle to release the discs.
😢
RIP your GCN discs 😂

this is high quality content ngl, ur gonna be big one day :)
Come on, don't give their hopes up 😂 It's ok.
@@XXIIXIIIXXXIXXXIXhe actually does have potential tho
@@Im2lazy4thisCrit That's true at least.
I...I...I feel like a fraud retro collector for not knowing about the GameCube ejector.
This is the content i didnt know i needed
I was today years old when I found out that:
1. The GameCube has a button inside to pop the disc out.
2. The SNES has an Eject button.
The only problem is that almost all people just rather take out the disc from the GameCube instead of pushing the button because they didn't know
I just learned from this video!
How stupid can you be to not know that, its right there in the middle.... staring at you like push me
I like my 360 with the gray that comes out
Opening the 360 disk drive sideways is a nightmare for me I can't do it horizontal because I don't have the space to do it😅
This was the first video from you that I watched! I liked the editing style of just a simple video game youtube short with no absolouteley no depth and i liked how mindless it felt to jsut watch you rank how hard it was to remove the games from your different consoles. as a fellow small game collector, i watched your other shorts and dropped a sub
I agree with everything. I love ejecting games from the game cube. I love how Nintendo found a way to make boring discs fun.
First place goes to Sega Saturn since it has a geat cartridge slot and a disc opening button that opens woth a satisfying sound
"I get to launch my games, I can launch my games!!" was so funny
The snes being a catapult is the main feature being able to play games was an add on to drive up the price
as someone who has a genesis, the snes eject button sounds so convenient to have. i dont like pulling cartridges out of a genesis, especially not sonic 3 and knuckles
Love the ones where the cover opens up. It's looks safe and satisfying
I now need an snes, not to play Mario World, but to LAUNCH MY GAMES
xbox original and xbox 360 (arcade edition, or white edition) are really nice. flat disc tray eject was a good era
I recently learned that the gamecube had a button-
I find with genesis games that its far easier if you start removing it from one corner, then when it comes up on that side, pulling from the other corner. Far easier than pulling straight up
I hate shorts but a list this specific and the ending got me good
pulling a genesis game out is like pulling out a tree trunk
Loving the GameCube. We need Nintendo to make a new one that has an updated pocket Gameboy that attaches like a switch controller.
bro has a solid 30% scott the woz imbedded in them
You can launch the cartridges on the Japanese NES, AKA the Famicom, but you have to use a slider to eject it, idk if it’s my console only, but It can be pretty resistant when I’m trying to eject cartridges on this system.
The fact you take out mario golf 64 out of any n64 gamesin the library make my day cause i love so much that game !
Bro was about to launch a heart attack 💀
“I feel like I’m destroying my game with every rip” proceeds to launch snes games like a nasa project 😂
I fully agree with this list. As much as I love the Genesis, I feel like I risk breaking both my game and the console whenever I take the cart out. That thing really should’ve come with an eject button
I think the disk drive for the PS3 super slim is pretty unique compared to others, though I never owned one to say that I liked it or not.
The Gameboy Player for the GameCube also had an eject button. You can launch games with a LOT of force with it
I've always found ds, 3ds, and switch cartridge removal and insertion very satisfying.
i usually press down on the n64 when i pull them out so i can gently pull it out without thinking i damaged it
cant believe technology is so advanced that we were able to turn game consoles into bread slice cooking devices
But have you ever had a Retron? You get to use the jaws of life to switch a game.
Wii with dramatic blue light is really satisfying.
It's really fun launching the SNES cartridges, lol
worst one for me is the switch. love the console but getting physical games in and out is a pain in the ass
Fun fact: taking out a SNES cartridge is technically the same as taking out a Genesis cart. The eject button was included on the SNES because they KNEW people would like it!
And it is much safer for the cartridge.
I'd call this official facts over personal rankings lol.
Gotta love that unlike the 360 and Wii, the PS3 spins the disc as it ejects. Weird but cool.
NES toploader....always a good feeling.
I’ve considered getting one over an original just so I could safely use a game genie lol.
@HaloTropical. Wow never thought of doing that. We bought the original snd now we wish we bought the top loader just because sometimes I just give up on playing the NES because I don't wanna blow all day
Number 1 for me is the phat PS2. You can press eject and it will open the tray like on a PC DVD drive.
Definitely agree on the SNES. Second for me would be the Switch with it's push and eject cartridge style. Both very easy to eject and seems very safe (sans the aggressive "launching" method you're using 🤣).
And the Wii blue ring was sooooo cool especially when there was an update waiting and it would glow
The way the Xbox One X slides the discs out is way more satisfying than the PS3.
I wish I had a gamecube
When removing a game is its own game
The SNES part made me chuckle a lot lmao
the wiis funny disc mechanism sounds massage my brain
The wii is the best eject. The blue light and sound really sells it
The eject button on both PS3 and PS4 are grounded and give me electrostatic shock when I press them with socks on. 0/10
Best one is Sega Dreamcast as it opens up the cover slowly like its presenting whatever awesome game is inside
Dreamcast would definitely rank well, although probably second place. If only they had installed a catapult mechanism, then the Dreamcast would’ve sold way better.
@@HaloTropical no, there are different theories of what would Dreamcast should have had for it to sell better and this is totally not one of them. It was a joke :)
The xbox 360 eject button with the sensor is underrated, I feel like its scanning my fingerprint to give me the game
The PS2 slim model is a runner up for me it opens like the PS1 but without the chunky button press.
SNES sick gotta say, my main console experince is ps3 super slim and ps4 dont like the eject honestly. Ps3 ss had some mechanics at least slamming that door on feels kinda nice
The amount of people that don't know about the Gamecube one is frightening and i pray for all the cracked games because of it.
If he likes the SNES he should try the Game boy player they actually do go flying.
Slot loading drives immediately jump to the top of my list, so the Wii U/PS3/XBONE would immediately be second place. The Wii would take the crown cause it has these nice blue LEDs 👑
Fun fact: You slightly damage the pins in the cartridge slot every time you take out an N64 game
"What would your father think about this" love that
A more powerful spring would be a great mod.
i forgot the gamecube had that cool pop up eject for the game discs
I have the ps4 one time i got thsi disc stuck in the reader and we had to ipen the entire ps4 to get it out unlike the older consoles which you van just put a disc like that
I believe on the PS1 if you click on the black bit holding the disk and it pops the disc out
Nope.
that’s specifically a ps3 slim, i own a super slim, its the only model without a disc hole
Was not expecting that dad joke with the ps3
Well done
In my opinion the PS5 (vertically standing ) deserves a Number 9 spot. The system is designed in a way where the printed side is the harder one to grab than the data side of the disc.
The game boy player for the gamecube also launches games out
You need to clean the 64 and Genesis cartridge slot. There is a build up of dirt and grime that sticking to the cartridge. Or the cartridge slot over time and usage is bent. It would help but not solve the issue 100%
PS3 super slim is probably the coolest. Just like the PS1, but it slides instead.
The Wii is just a very satisfying console man.
Yo the genesis is a whole mood. I literally broke the power input on my cuz they maje the tolerance so tight. Still haven't soldered that shit back on yet either.
Seriously, you should solder that it back on soon bro how you gonna play Sonic Spinball?!?!
@halotropical I would man, but there's a whole lot of shit I need to get done before that. Also gotta get sonic spinball first
Launch, I thought in TV, but literally it launches🚀

I pressed my eject button too hard and I've yet to see my copy of Sunset Riders. It went straight through the ceiling and into space
It’s going to ride the sun.
Did anyone else also hear the minecraft lever noise when he turned on the 64 at the beginning of the video?

I have owned a Gamecube for almost 2 decades and I just learned you can eject the discs.
I forever will have a grudge against the Wii for not being able to eject my Ssb Melee disc on my friends Wii. Never saw that game again….
this man is excited just to make a rocket out of an snes, me too btw
Doomsday clock just hit midnight after you launched those SNES carts.
I like how ejecting the Wii game looks, but gravity takes issue with it
I always have to have my hand below the disc incase gravity says its time for the disc to fall
Now we know where launching the game came from
Fun fact about the OG NES you don’t need to push the thing down to play
GameCube had a button 😳
I may have played SNES games on emulators but I will never experience the feeling of launching the game off when ejecting it
