Thanks for the video, great stuff! I DID buy the Hornet: yellow with the quick-shifter and the screen for added wind protection. I am still breaking it in but absolutely love it so far. You describe the engine behaviour well: past 4K rpm, it begins to unfold a seemingly endless supply of useable power even with a pillion and on the highway. You can also ride very sedately if you so choose. Gurgles and pops from the engine are delightful! I am about 6ft, 185 pounds. I would have liked to test the GSX 8S but the local dealer only had the reduced power version available so that was pointless. Lots of unintended honking at first (lol) but you get used to it. My other bike is a 1992 Kawasaki ZZR 250 with as of now unresolved carburetor problems, so this has been a significant upgrade in performance and reliability. I have also had some recent long-term experience with the KTM 1260 Super Duke and the Tiger 900, but as a package, the Hornet fits me brilliantly and I expect to explore the continuous crescendo of fun in the months to come! I just wish I had more time to ride...! Will keep you posted!

i've been looking at various bikes myself for a while, and just pretty much decided on the same spec & colour :). i looked at one in a dealers a few days ago and it seemed even better in real life than on vid's, and as soon as i sat on it thought it's the one for me, even though i havent had a test ride (yet) lol. some reviews indicate that the throttle can be a bit snatchy, how do you find it?. @@Bob-ts2tu the throttle is a bit on/off in some situations, especially when combined with the engine braking. However, like all bikes, you learn to control it and it is not a problem. Only fun..! 🙂 The more I ride the more fun I am having!

@@florme6494ive had it for a week or so, but due to the awful weather only been out twice, both times it was a tad damp and only done about 180miles but the first thing you notice is that twisting the throttle can give you a real kick up the ass if you want it, the power and accelleration is incredible, and i'm only running in atm so maxing at 5-6k rpm, and hardly used sports mode with full engine power. the throttle can be a tad twitchy at low speeds, but not unmanageable, and not really any different from my 125 in low gear, you just have to get used to making small increments and being gentle, i understand it's a common thing with euro5 and ride by wire throttles, and the kawa 650 i did some of my DAS training on was the same, so it's nothing that bothers me unduly so far. another small concern i had was the slow speed manoevering and tight turns with fatter tyres than im used to, but this bike is so nimble and light it's a real doddle, and in traffic really easy, you can use the low down torque with just the clutch to ride slowly at 5mph or so without much effort. the seat is comfy for an hour or so, but after an hour and a half can start to feel really uncomfy so you need to stretch your legs, but i got round that before with my home made inflatable cushion, so am experimenting atm to see what works best for when i do a few little tours and longer days out and will make mods as i go. another point i saw in a few vids was that the steering can be a little overreactive making it easy to oversteer and threppeny bit on roundabouts for example, but i find theres none of it at all, it's smooth and simple, just right, but that's maybe becase im so used to my 125. while i find the quick shifter good, it only comes into it's own at higher revs and speeds, it's a bit lumpy going slow in low gear, so i use the clutch & change normally, but when it's run in this will possibly improve, but the clutch is really light anyway.
for anyone wondering if it's too much of a step to have one as a first 'big bike', id say that's nonsense, as long as you don't get carried away with the new found power and take it steady. These are a few points initial points come to mind bearing in mind i havent had it that long, but so far i love it, and as many reviewers have said it puts a smile on your face all the time, and i'm scouring the forecast looking forward to a decent day, coz cleaning it all the time aint my thing lol, but ive fitted a powerbronze rear hugger and front extender which has helped keep the mud fling down a tad. GL & hope that helps !!

Enjoyed your video: great stuff! It is a good bike. I have one and have done just over 1000 miles on her now. The torque is good low down and it's power up top is a bit scary (to me!). Handling is sublime and the burble from the exhaust is lovely. The snatchiness I barely notice now as I think I've leaned to ride around it. I did notice at the beginning though. Not awful - just Honda could have done it a bit better. Quickshifter takes a bit of getting used to. But once you know when - and when not - to use it, it's very good. Glad I specified it. I bought it at the back end of last year and I am so looking forward to putting some miles on it this spring and summer! MPG is about 68. Comfort is no problem for 3 hours or less (all I've done so far). For a naked, she provides a surprising amount of wind protection and you can happily sit between 70-80 all day long. Things I've noticed that are negative: snatchiness I've mentioned. Don't be put off though, it's not that bad! She's a dirty bitch! No hugger and a silly farty mudguard at the front. Always cleaning the damn thing. After market hugger and fender extender have (nearly) sorted the problem but I still seem to get covered in crap on wet mucky days! USB is under the seat - why not on the handlebars where it's useful? Rubbish really. No range remaining on the clocks nor ambient temperature. I'm nit-picking though. For the money, you can't go wrong. Thanks again for the video!

pretty much the same experience here, so i think you are spot on. as far as the usb goes it suits me perfectly, as i use it as an 'emergency' to charge my phone, coz i have a bluetooth beeline moto for navigation, as i don't like an expensive iphone dangling on the handlebars, and like the simplicity, but the under seat connector is a usb-c one, so bought a short usb-c to usb cable so i can use a regular lightning cable, and to have the option of plugging in any other standard usb connectors as well, for example to charge my cardo headset. I’ve got the black one 😊bought the quick shifter, had loads of accessories fitted at the dealer, went for the 3 yrs service package, I love the Sat Nav and the music using the Honda Sync. Cracking bike, great fun sounds just as good with standard Exhaust, don’t waste your money on a after market box. It is fun fast and agile as you say. Great video you btw enjoyed that. 💯 oh one thing I hate and be very careful is the indicator switch stupid place, I touched the horn and knocked the hazards by mistake so many times😢 can be quite annoying. Enjoy folks great bike.

actually i do, and will have one fitted soon as i get mine. i find It makes maintenance and oiling the chain so much easier, and you can keep the tyres off the ground if stored and not ridden for a few months over winter, in fact i can't think of any good reason not to have one myself. GL
