Sometimes I forget that there's Jim videos where we aren't in imminent danger (may or may not be caused by his character) and just are normal human with bad eyesight. And both types are incredibly entertaining *and* relaxing
I really appreciated the long silences during checking. This is one of my favorite triggers. It's not that I prefer silence over Jim's voice, because in these silences I almost fall asleep, and then when they speak again I wake up slightly and realize they are still there even if I fall asleep. So, this feels very safe.
What do you mean you want to take a look at my eyes? Do you plan on scooping them out to sell them on the dark market? To feed them to an eldritch entity? Am i horribly disfigured by war? No? Just a normal eye exam? Mmmok if you say so

I love it. Last time I went I stumbled upon a man who should be a detective - we spent like an hour meticulously finding out what's wrong with my eyesight (many, many interesting things, it turns out!) He was so damn Focused and Dedicated and so obviously neurodivergent. I felt at home :D
I enjoy the little detail of the eye chart in the thumbnail saying 'eye exam asmr' blending things like that into the background makes my brain happy :)

Also equally shocked that this is a nice normal eye exam roleplay and not a body horror medical experiment in a SCP Foundation warehouse conducted by a vampire-necromancer as a sacrificial offering to Nyarlethotep. Will fall asleep feeling safe in the knowledge I won't wake up dead.

I love the "Little-to-no-tomfoolery!" In the description. Optician's exams are actually super important and could potentially save your life as they can detect naughty things like Cancer and whatnot. I enjoy optician's exams but I always get super anxious when they look at the back of my eye and I always opt out of the flashing lights part. Trouble is opticians cost a bloody fortune! £200 for a pair of glasses?! It's a joke! Lol 😂😢

"And that's what I get...for being arrogant." This professional is so humble, he admits to feeling like a heroic optometrist legend in his own mind ...and apologises for it! What a towering sweetie pie! I remember seeing a doctor as a kid who told my mum, while he was holding my skinny 6 year old arm .... "Some doctors like to (blah blah blah blah"... I wasn't really paying attention) "....but I like to do THIS! " and punched my arm with a needle! I prefer a professional who takes the time to care. Even if he does apologetically fumble and brag about the thickness of his cornea, prefacing it with an apology for it sounding like a flex. We ALL know it was a flex. More power to his quiet confidence. I'd bet in the privacy of his office, he swooszhezzz that tiny torch around like a light sabre.
It's funny because it happens that I got my eyes checked pretty recently and bought new glasses. My vision has changed so much, the last time was since... Eight years !! Crazy, right? Less myopia more astygmatism (more from the eye than the other, nice) Also do you know that myopia is often related to the eyeball being too wide for your eyes? That's my case. My eyes got a bit more in places (I guess). Sounds weird, I know. Anyways, love your voice, your roleplays, your creativity and such. Take care of yourselves guys !!
oh my gosh i didnt realize we had real subtitles this time, thats so pog i hope we continue to have them, i often struggle to understand jim, s especially with some of the accents he does (auditory processing is my hell)
i watch nearly every vid of yours (some of the more dark or intense ones arent for me) so im here just for that reason alone but i will say i do enjoy eye exam asmrs, the one you did a while back with the opt....eye machine thingy is still one of my faves (i just really like the way it sounds) idk if its me or not, but the keyboard sounds in the beginnimg are much louder than your whispering (both sounds are good! i just had my device turned up a good bit to hear your whispering and the keyboard was almost too loud)
