- In this video, we are in Arkansas for the opening day of 2023 spearfishing season on Bull Shoals Lake! We did a scouting dive the day before opening day to try and locate some fish. On the scouting dive, I decided to try something new. I brought a fishing pole down and went fishing under water! I will attach a link to this video at the bottom of this description!
This trip was tough! Bull Shoals Lake was trying to "turn over", so the water was more murkey than usual. The catfish were not "holed-up" yet, so they were quite difficult to find. As you will see in the video, we found quite a few walleye!
If you are a SCUBA diver, or are interested in learning more about the sport of spearfishing, THIS is the video for you!

Great video. Almost time to get going again!
Hope this year isn't a repeat of '23. Saw way more green carp than cats.
Please post up some more footage this year.
Thank you! I'll sure try!

What fish are legal to spear in missouri
You are not allowed to spear game fish in Missouri. But I believe you can spear non-game fish. Definitely double check though.
I knew Arkansas was backwards...but to allow spearfishing for game fish? That's just embarrassing as a sportsman. 🫣😬
Well, that's a silly thing to say, fella! Thanks for watching!
how so? In most states spearfishing for freshwater game fish is illegal. Besides, just because you "can" do it, doesn't make it ethical or intelligent. Then again, Arkansas isn't particularly known for either.
Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's a bad thing, either. As I said, thanks for watching, troll!
See, AGAIN you attempt to slide past my comment. It's a matter of LAW in most states...not if I "like it" or not. I haven't yet seen a single comment to refute that. 🤣
Umm... it's legal in Arkansas. You have literally no argument. 😘
