I bought the Vizio 5.1 system and was really surprised. I got it for $200 and it sounds really great for the money. To me it almost sounds like a movie theater in my house. Granted this is the first sound bar I've had, so literally anything will sound better than the built in TV speaker, but's really incredible what you can get for not much money nowadays.
I heard the Vizio from the store display and I was blown away! It outclassed all of the others on display, even the Bose setup and I've always been a fan Bose. I bought the Vizio when black friday came around and I'm so happy with it!

I had the same experience a few years back. I've been using Vizio sound bars exclusively because of the quality and price. However, I wanted to try a Samsung to compare differences, and the audio just wasn't as clear, or balanced. My latest sound bar is this year's Vizio M Series M51ax-J6 which is both Atmos, and DTS:X certified, and also supports all standard DVD, and Blu-ray codecs, plus streaming such as Dolby Plus. The Vizio M Series also is eARC ready as well as having HDMI in and out for full HDMI passthrough. It can also pass 4k / HDR / Dolby Vision through. I'm still on an HDR10 / HLG TV but still works great for my needs.
I had the Klipsch R-10b which I loved. It quit after several yrs. Bought the Klipsch Cinema 400 and was disappointed. Muffled. Treble did nothing. Bought a $300 Samsung next and same thing. Blahhh. Buttons on remote didn’t change anything on the soundbar. That went back too. Then bought the Vizio V51 and Wow. Crisp clear highs. Also included rear speakers and the option to use them as fronts next to soundbar which I’m doing. Remote is really good. So many adjustments and even an LED. Unlike the other two remotes. Amazing soundbar.
Ive been checking out sound bars the last few weeks for my basement tv and it’s crazy how good the Vizio sound bar sounds for it’s price it sounds better than some of the really expensive ones.
Hi thanks for this video. I could hear the difference immediately after going from each sound bar. Vizio all the way which is great because my TV is also Vizio.
I have been reviewing both of these exact ones and yours is the only video that compares, out of all models, these two side by side. I had my wife and kids put in headphones to listen to the sounds you recorded without telling them which is which and they all picked VIZIO without knowing who voted for what. I also found VIZIO to be better. If VIZIO beats SAMSUNG out in this setup, then it must be even better with the other two speakers hooked up!
I hope you respond. Wouldnt using the surround speakers in the front make the Vizio sound infinitely better, making it better to go for V 5.1 than M 2.1 or Samsung 3.1?

Thank you for this. I am trying to pick a soundbar for my Samsung 43 inch Q60B QLED TV. I have never had a soundbar before & am on a tight budget but know that I want at least Dolby sound & an all-in-one set-up. I wanted to stick with Samsung for the most seemless set-up & to maximize in proprietary features that Samsung offers; however, the sound quality (at least in this case) certainly seems lackluster compared to the Vizio--especially considering that you hadnt even plugged the additonal speakers into the Vizio yet in order to give a more fair comparison. This leads me to believe that a Vizio model may be worth looking into. Thanks much!
Would have been interesting to see how they compared using different settings. I know the Samsung has settings to help bring out voices better. I've not had good luck with the longevity of the Vizio bars. Thanks for your review.
Great video! I have a question I'm stuck between buying a new V51 vs a Vizio SB36512-F6 for $50 more ( open box from my local best buy). The + for the V51 is its a brand new bar from this year but not Atmos while the F6 is quite a bit older but supports atmos. Do you have any experience with the F6 or just a general opinion? Would be my first soundbar. Thanks!
I wanted the 5.1 so bad honestly but i found a Samsung sound bar for a great deal at Best Buy and decided to go with it because I also just got a Samsung tv, I plan on upgrading the sound very soon though thanks for this video

has anyone else have a problem with this same Vizio surround system cutting out during low or silent moments, its extremely annoying and wanted to see if anyone fixed it or just got a better surround system.
This was an amazing video to compare my "situation" to. Thank you! i originally i went to purchase the vizio 5.1, after weeks of researching and comparing videos, but they were out of stock. The employee recommended Samsung...i figured.. eh why not, that's what i prefer anyways. So i started with the Samsung T410, then exchanged it for the HW-550 and then exchanged that one for this T650....if i could exchange it one more time haha😅..i would have kept the HW-550 for sure! that one definitely had the best sound quality out of the samsung. After many hours of setting changes on my samsung tv, i finally was able to get amazing sound out of the T650. took a couple weeks of searching and adjusting though. Compared to the HW-550 that produced amazing sound right after set up with only a couple tv setting adjustments, i'd still choose the HW-550. (btw, all were used with the additional speakers) Well, i couldnt stop thinking about it so i ended up purchasing the Vizio 5.1 recently. my excuse to myself was that my office needed a system...why not, right?🤷♂️ haha and im excited to set it up now and experience it in person. 🤗 The End. lol p.s (2days after the employee told me how much the 5.1 isnt going to be good cuz Vizio sucks, the 5.1 soundbar was rated in the Top4 of the Soundbars out there) 😐
I've had 3 vizio 5.1 sound bars. For the cost, they sound amazing, however they're very glitchy. The one I currently have shuts off after abiut 4 hrs of use. No matter what you're doing (music, TV, movie, streaming etc) it'll just shut off. This is insanely annoying as you can be right in the middle of a movie when this happens. From my research, this is a common symptom of vizio sound bars.
@@Laptops1781 I have a 5.1 Vizio sound bar and it was glitchy with my 2016 LG tv. Sometimes the rear surround speakers and sub wouldn’t turn on. When I upgraded to the new LG tv 2020 all the issues were gone and has been working perfect.
Does the Vizio actually have independent rear surround channels? I just bought it and noticed the box says 'dual stereo' mode with the speakers placed in the rear.
Yes, this model is indeed surround sound. I believe the dual stereo feature refers to playing a stereo audio track across all the speakers - both front and back as opposed to only utilizing the front left/right speakers only
Been rocking vizio for about 10 years now. Started with the 2.1 now I'm at 2, 5.1s. 1 in the living room and the other in the bedroom. The bass could be better though on the Vizio. But no biggie it's not that bad
I am actually in the middle of returning the Samsung sound bar for the Vizio I was so disappointed with the Samsung lack of bass, my 5 year old 2.1 Vizio sound bar captures lows much better so I will be upgrading to 5.1 V Series
The vizio is a good system. The only problem I’m having with mine is that the rear speakers keep cutting out for a second or 2. Other than that I enjoy it let me know if you have the same problem.
@@jayzevahc1041 Vizio came out with a firmware update to help resolve that issue. Follow the directions on their website for installation if you haven’t already.
I thought the Vizio sounded flat at home, even with PlayStation 5 auto-calibrate. The Samsung sounded great at target so I was going to go try it, now I'm nervous

i have 85" qn85a with q59ct soundbar after watching this video,I bought vizio m51a thinking it will sound better. I found out q59ct have more feature, more bass, got q symphony which make samsung sound better., I return the vizio after spending time listening to it. They are the same price after sale. Samsung compliment my tv, which make it better sounding soundbar.
I've tried Vizio and the Samsung bar. In my opinion, the Vizio subwoofer sounds bad. Really muddy bass. The Samsung sub is much clearer. You can really hear the tone in the notes. If you don't care and you just want the rumble during movies then go with the Vizio.
I also got the hw-t650 for roughly 200 dollars at Thanksgiving discount and it is a massive upgrade from the stock speakers of my now 6 years old 7000 series non hdr lg 4k TV. It does have an option to upgrade to Samsung - Wireless Rear Speakers (Pair) Model SWA-8500S . Maybe I'll go for that in the future if it's on discount but I'm very satisfied with my soundbar . Nice seiko cocktail time.

Do the factory reset. I think hold Bluetooth and volume down button till the lights power up and off. Then it should work as normal if not then return which sucks.
i personally purchased the samsung system and within 48 hrs it shorted out and became unusable. rma'ed it got a new one and it did the same thing. sent it back and got a refund. i will never buy another one from samsung again
The Vizio can't be beaten at it's price point. But one thing that Samsung does better is it surround feature with the optional wireless surround kit. When a source is stereo the Samsung sounds more natural through all the speakers and does a good job mimicking surround sound. While the Vizio sounds echo-ish and a bit too digital.
You could of just buy the Samsung rear wireless surround speakers which costs $119, to add to your 3.1 Samsung soundbar, making the 3.1 into 5.1. I would rather keep the Samsung then to get a Vizio. Samsung is a better name brand. I just recently purchased the Samsung HWA650. And I'm glad I I it. I will definitely get the Samsung wireless rear surround sound speakers in December.

if it’s below 1k sound bar , the Dolby atoms isn’t gonna do great. You not gonna hear much differences from a low end Dolby atoms speakers vs without

Yep went in costco to buy samsung soundbar and came out with vizio. Vizio just has a clean crisp sound that Samsung don't have.

You get what you pay for Vizio is cheaper because it’s cheap!!! The sub dies and I have had it replaced twice!!! It is not a good product
