Trying to load a pallet on a Uhaul trailer....

The pallet was very heavy and either way pushing or pulling the pallet would catch on everything. I ended up using a winch. Just thought this would help someone....

All you need is a driveway to back up to to level the ramp.

You could've put the two wheels of pallet jack on 1st slot of pallet, lift it just enough from floor to move, put steering straight, and come around the other side and push. Once pallet made it halve way, you can adjust pallet jack all the way in, and move it. Done it many times by my self on 1500lbs pallets.

What the video didn’t show was how the guy got the pallet jack from the front of the trailer once the 4’ wide pallet was loaded on the 6’ wide trailer, presumably in the center. Wonder if that particular ride on the struggle bus is in another episode?

I would have picked up the pallet jack and put it on the other end, and pushed it up the ramp. Or, grab a friend and have him push from the other end.
Also, if you had 2 jacks, you could have one on the other end also in the holes. Just make sure they're offset of one another.

Ok, so I can read it all but is nobody going to notice or point out that the real problem is that as soon as the rear wheels get to teh ramp, each time, he grabs the lever and pulls it up towards the handle which, predictably and visibly observably, drops the load on to the ground/ramp. So, Isn't it clar that eh problem was that dropping the load caused 100% friction force of the pallet sitting on the ground/ramp to be "un-pullable".

Need a little poece if metal or plywood to male a ramp for back lip of the uhaul so tiny wheels of pallet lift do not catch on edge of ramp. Just an idea. I have a trailer with bump at end of ramp too

This has been pissing me off royally! We're actually trying to do good work and distribute cases of water and food to communities hit by the winter storm here in Texas as a non-profit but I ran into this issue 2 different ways.
1st was just like what happened in the video. We had the pallets of food and water to a storage facility and I was not expecting the U-Haul ramp to be that tall off the ground, so the far wheels would not go over the ramp. Wasted time and ended up having to un-pallet and re-pallet onto the truck. Pallet jack worked offloading like a breeze though.
So distribution day we had to move the pallets to the site and I had rented a Penske Cabover truck with the gate that flips down to a ramp. While yes it actually had a smaller edge there was still a bit of a ramp (lip) that needed to be cleared! I was hot when this didn't work. it takes a lot for me to get frustrated like I was Saturday. Ended me and my wife unpacking pallets and just sliding stuff into the truck. We didn't get to take as much stuff as we wanted. URRRR!

Do you think maybe some plywood up against the lip of the ramp would work? I need to move 2 fairly heavy pallets on a trailer and I'm just worried about this happening to me too...

“There’s got to be a better way”. I see a future invention in your future. :). I found this video trying to figure out how to load a pallet into my enclosed cargo trailer with ramp gate. I don’t have a pallet jack, but obviously that would’t solve my problem. :). #purplecollarlife

this would have been much easy, if he got the pallet jack going the other direction, you can always push the jack, also it would help if he put a piece of wood at the lip where it touches the ground.

See how the pallet has two opening on the side. For anyone watching use that side as the front/back.
Get the pallet up far and you can up the ramp. Then drop it. Back up bit and grab it again from the middle and pull back. Important if it's extremely heavy you'll obviously need help with muscle.
