The most expensive soundtrack i ever purchased was The Wraith soundtrack. Think I paid around $ 49.98 ......and worth every penny bc still listen to it to this day.
I never missed a chance to watch it when it was on HBO back in the late 80s, early 90s. I was in love with that car ! I was just talking about it on Facebook the other day, declaring it a must watch. I was about 6 when I first say it and 30+ years later, I'm still in love with that car and movie.
I was 5 when this movie came out. Loved it then and I love it now to this day. That's the baddest car I've ever seen in a movie. No other car compares to that car.
I live near Tucson AZ so I go to a lot of the area’s that the film was filmed at. Unfortunately the burger joint after the movie production was knocked down. Other then that you can drive down the same street that Charlie Sheen and Sherilyn Fenn rode down in the bike or you can find the area where the racing took place.
This movie is supposed to take place in the summertime, but it was filmed in a very cold February. [You can see Charlie Sheen's and Sherilyn Fenn's breath in some scenes] The scenes where they were at the swimming hole in swim trunks and bikinis, everyone was freezing, pretending to be in a hot summer. And in the very first car race, you can see the shadow of the camera car on the road. Love this movie and have it in my collection. Also own the awesome soundtrack!! I have told my friends about this movie, and they all loved it. Great fun film that deserves more recognition.
One of those gems my dad showed me when I was 11 or 10 (it was around the time he was introducing me to slashers and more horror films; I had no idea this was from George Miller).. I absolutely loved it, and I just started crying in the end!
I was wondering when you guys might cover this movie. This is a favorite of mine that I forgot about for years before it started playing on Netflix years back. Excellent wealth of 80s cheese and a fantastic nostalgic soundtrack. What all 80s B movies should be!
Yeah, I recorded it off of HBO back in April 1988, and that tape continued on until last year. This film has been in my life since I was in 4th grade:-).
Ha to "never saw". Saw it countless times on TV, I had the VHS and I own it on DVD and Blu-ray. It rocks! Few movies get more 80s than this one. The visuals, the outfits, the music .. and I love it for it.
The 80s had alot more nudity. I didnt even know Sherylin Fenn ever was nude (at such a young age at least) and the rest of the movie is like Morphin Power Rangers!!!!
Yes this movie is awesome, I watched it for the 1st time a couple of years ago without knowing anything about it and me and my group of friends had a blast watching it! I am very excited it's finally coming to Blu Ray this July!
There's also the extended cut of this cult classic. The theatrical cut running time is 1h32m, while the extended is 1h33. I remember one night watching the extended cut on HBO and surprised me with the extra scenes.
@@rickc2102 She played a hilarious role in "Fatal Instinct" (a dual parody of both "Basic Instinct," and "Fatal Attraction"). She actually has a comedic touch that is underrated. Really though, she's just beautiful. Can't stop looking at her on screen.

We can't forget the awesome 80's turbo Chryslers all throughout the movie. This movie is rad and a welcome staple to any mom and pop pizza/video rental spot back in the 80's and early 90's. Rent The Wraith, Robocop and a cool Genesis game to go with your pizza and 2 liter for a great Saturday night!
I think Mike Marvin was wrong about Sherilyn Fenn's acting ability, but I feel things turned out okay here. They probably would've been fine casting Melora Hardin in that spot as well.
Excellent movie, yeah it has a couple of plot holes but honestly this is far more entertaining and imaginative than any of the fast and the furious movies.
One of my all time favorite movies!! I STILL want the Turbo Interceptor!! Great concept. I always wanted to know more about the Wraith but I guess that would’ve demystified the mytho behind it. I always have time for this movie.😎👍🏽
I watched this movie on cable television so many times as a kid / teen. Collector's Series Blu Ray coming out next month, y'all. And that gang was definitely the prototype for Top Dollar's boys in The Crow. They even have a Skank!
Another favourite from when I was a kid. With luck I managed to pick up a ex-rental VHS (with the shiny cover ) in the late 90s. Which I subsequently wore out over the years.
I remember picking this up in blockbuster when it was still around and I liked the VHS cover art and the fact that Charlie Sheen was in it. It was cheesy, and action packed. I wish it had more character development, but I was hoping a sequel would be made to fill in some of the character development an plot holes. With that being said it is still a non-guilty pleasure because it has a great concept.
I recommend another lesser known 80s car movie starring Charlie Sheen, Randy Quaid and the awesome Bill Duke called "No Man's Land". It's not a horror movie but it's still an underrated gem.
My biggest takeaway from this movie is being jealous of everyone in it's just care-free do-whatever-the-fuck-you-want-all-night lives. Aside from Clint Howard who works at a shop, it looks like everyone else just fucks around all day.
Never saw this movie as a kid, but as someone who's always loved car chases, had I seen it as a kid back then, I'd have probably entered puberty early.

This movie is a trip the plot seems geared toward Children like Power Rangers etc. -then you have these naked girls having sex its insane.
How can you talk about this film without quoting Clint Howard's best line? "It's a wraith, a ghost , an evil spirit and it ain't cool!" Pure genius
