Having taken a short rest after years of calling for Cal to leave, it's time to weigh my big mouth in. Mark is doing exactly what Cal should have been doing all along. It's a joy to see these young passionate Kentucky high school players getting the opportunity to wear the Blue. Cal said he would take talent over experience every time. Cal was clueless. There is a thing called morale. I think we will see a return to players who take pride in the uniform leaving it all on the floor every night. Some of my favorite Kentucky teams didn't win it all but they sure gave it everything they had. That 92 team is one of my special favorites. If Mark is as good a coach as I suspect he might be, we'll see new banners soon. But these kids who were born and bred in the Bluegrass will be a joy to watch as they grow into the and leave their own marks on the pages of Wildcat history.
Kids like that should always have a spot on the roster. When they're an afterthought and having to go to an in conference rival like SC you know we've went down the wrong path. The world just seems right today.
The best part about bringing in all these boys who was born and bred in Kentucky means they understand the pride we Kentuckians have in our basketball community

I am excited for what Coach Pope is going to accomplish at UK. He's off to great start in my book. Love it that he's getting home grown , UK loving kids to play. Kids that want to hang banners and understand what it means to go down in Kentucky history. . All these other teams over the past 20 years how many names does anyone avtually remember ????? Especially during the Calioari era !
@@Ryan_Rants oh yeah for sure! I'm hoping he carves out a solid space in the team for a few years and can keep the kentucky boy dreams alive not to say we should get all the in-state talent but to start now and make it a healthy trend for classes to come along with travis
@@theboochiestore 100%. Many of our great teams have had at least one stand out home grown talent. In 2012, I would argue that Darius Miller was the second most indispensable player on that team besides AD simply because of the experience and versatility he provided on what was a team that wasn't particularly deep. I agree, we shouldn't get every in state guys as some of our fans may hope for. But a healthy mixture of guys who have dreamt of wearing the blue and white their whole lives just adds to the culture and passion within the program. Being from Kentucky and playing high school basketball, I knew I was not nearly talented enough to play in college. However, I dreamed of making the state tournament just to have the chance to warm up in Rupp Arena. It is just different.
Lets go Trent!!!!! Glad u decommitted from coach paris at usc. Great young coach, lamont is. But you made smart decession, son. You got a opportunity to b a Kentucky legend!!!! Play smart, play fast, trust your instincts, the hours you spent on the court, and when open LET HER FLY SON!!!!!!
Definitely a different approach and attitude for this program going forward. I will be quite the culture shift and something much of this fan base has craved.
