I confess that inspirational speech got me too. Great observations here about the characters -- especially the female characters taking charge of their destinies. I love the way you described the Go Pro battle scenes -- a really nice facet of Gwynne's writing. Beautifully said about being yourself, Allen, and we're glad you're you! Also, some excellent advice here: "If you're a douchebag, you should probably try not to be yourself." Always great to hear your take, and I'm excited to talk about Wrath with you and the others!!!
Great review I am actually reading the last 200 pages of Ruin and since Malice every chapter and every book gets better and better, this guy really knows how to write and he gets better per chapter the books get more emotional and you definitely get more invested in the characters and the action is visceral not a lot of authors can write battle scenes the way John does,no spoilers from me but one of my favorite relationships was between Gar and Tukul, they had a great father-son thing everything about these books are great appreciate the review you have a new subscriber
Love it! I just finished Wrath last night and just wow. Can't wait to pick up in the Banished Lands in the next trilogy, "Of Blood and Bone". Ruin just wrecked me at the end. As in all these books, no one is safe, so it's a nail-biter to the very end.
Jael is awful! Ruin is my favorite of the 4 i think. However, it is the one I threw across the room at the very end. I may have called Gwynne a bad name too. SOOO glad I had Wrath to pick up right away. I love hearing someone who is as enthusiastic as I am about these books.
@@TheLibraryofAllenxandria I don’t believe you. I think you’re trying to lure me into this like Calidus would, haha. But I’m glad to hear that the running away finally stops in this one!
This was actually my least favorite book of the series so far. Almost nothing of consequence happened until the very end. Just lots of aimless wandering
So glad you enjoyed Ruin, Allen! Felt a lot of nostalgia listening to this. Truth and Courage!

So good!

Thanks so much, Philip! Can't wait to see what you think of Wrath! Those last 200 pages....wooooooooo
Allen I fully support you being yourself all the time.
I remember cheering during this book too
I am so excited to read this. Malice and Valour were both top tier for me.
If the first 2 were top tier, these will be too!
Just finished Ruin. Lookin forward to checkin out your thoughts on it 🙏🏾
This. Book. Is. So. GOOD! I can't wait to chat with ya'll about WROTH!
I'm in the last 100pgs of Malice. Looking forward to continuing
Oh nice...that's the good stuff!
Just finished Ruin... Omg awesome series.. Jumping into Wrath..
The first few chapters and that THING that happened was 🎉. I’m at 35% and wish I didn’t have to work so that I could finish it
I knew you had to get Lykos's grappling hook in there somewhere!! 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahahah I hate it so much
Been wanting to finally start this series! 👍🏻👍🏻
Dooooooo eeeeeet
I will never get tired of listening to you talk about this series. Wrath review going up tomorrow? Heh
Hahahahah I'm actually not super sure how to review Wrath. Still contemplating.
Great review Allen. I'm halfway Wrath!....😍🤪 Hope Petrik's collab isn't too soon! 😅
It's the last week in April so there's still time!

Thank you! I love John Gwynne!
The ending of this one made me realize that Ruin wasn't just a clever name.
💯💯
Veradis has the best scene in this book, or one of them at least.
AGREE. That is when I stood up and cheered.
Totally loved ruin will be reading wrath this week can't wait 😉🤩😆
Yesssssss so good!

I just finished Ruin on Sunday and it was EPIC! I’m 250 pages into Wrath and having a fantastic time.
Omgggg the oath scene in Drassil made me tear up. It was so beautiful
So good!!
Happy to hear you loved it I'm currently going through the sequel trilogy and man it's so good.

Say one thing for Allen of Allenxandria, say he has a hilarious personality.
Hahahah thanks

Loved those two books together. And yes, I hate Jael so so so much.
Is Veradis intelligent in this one? 😝
He's been intelligent since Ruin!

Veradis gets shit done, it is just usually not what needs to get done
