@@OlympiaPiano you are welcome. I love the high quality of these overviews and this is one of the pieces on my list to learn. The overview prodded me to learn it! As an adult beginner, I find your videos are much better than a weekly in person lesson with a teacher for me.

@@OlympiaPiano at what proficiency do you recommend people to move onto the next measure?

I think my best answer would be if you feel like you have the measure "under your fingers" so to speak, even at a slow tempo, you can move on and start learning the notes for the next measure, and then add the other elements as you can. In other words it's ok to overlap things--like learn all the notes/rhythm and fingering for m. 1-4 for example, then as you keep playing them, add in the pedal and dynamics. My goal is to have something you can refer back to and keep refining and refining. I'm still refining this piece after playing it for 40 years!

I like how the end of measure 3 ties to the boris daily exercise’s set no1’s exercise 1 and 8.

You are so perceptive!! BB #8 is a very important exercise and it prepares you exactly for moments like this! You will notice as you go through the BB book, he explores all different varieties of this, and once you have really made it through you can just insert that technique into pieces like this. Very happy to hear. JB
