I watched Oz from the 90s twice in its entirety, might have to rewatch it again soon. It's an absolute masterpiece of dramatic storytelling on the floors of a male prison, specifically a wing going through an experimental open-concept rehabilitation from the brainchild of a rather idealistic warden. The show really tackles a lot of difficult relationships, deaths, assaults, abuses of power, racism, even riots. It was a product of its time, and did not hold back on the adult nature of the subject matter.

Tom's comedy is TOP tier. His timing, his language, his delivery, is all spectacular and he has fantastic stage presence. His podcast and podcast skills are good, but his comedy is on another level. You need to check out his compilation of the times he was on the news. His "DJ dad mouth" persona. It's pretty funny.

this is one of my favourite of Tom Seguras Bits, I actually watched the episode after this and he Honestly Makes it sound way funnier then it is, hes brilliant.
One of the funniest skits, hands down in comedy history. The edited video with it takes it to a whole higher level. I was also lucky enough to see this episode when it aired on TV. I was like WTF is going on.. This is insane and little did I know at the time how famous this episode would become and the life of its own that Tom gave it. AWESOME... HO MY POCKET! I love Tom Segura, his comedic timing, his facial expressions while telling jokes. He's just so funny. I love his podcast on TH-cam, you can always hear his crew in the background howling, and it's almost funnier than the jokes/conversation he has with his guests.

I was in this program in the 90. I wasn't on tv but they took us to the prison Mcalester in my state of Oklahoma for the day. It was just like what you saw on TV but probably not as bad as this episode. I was still running around out for days doing drugs until I decided to take myself to Thunderbird a military school. That did more to change my life than anything.

My Aunty’s bf was a cop, I was about 15. I was a average kid, I only got into minor trouble. Anyway, he was telling us about his work, jail, housing projects and such. My dad said the look on my face said I would never do any serious crime in my life. I never did and I won’t say I wouldn’t. The only time I can think of doing a major crime would be a revenge if someone assaulted or killed a close family or friend.

It's good to see kids realising that there are consequences to bad behaviour. I think this would work here in the UK because a lot kids over here are of the opinion that nothing really happens if you step out of line. However, it's a bit different in the US because prison is for profit giving judges good insensitive for jail over second chance or reform. It costs the British tax payer a shit load of money to keep people in prison over here and we would rather help people to realise the error of their ways than just lock them up. However, I don't feel the British justice system is soft. If someone needs locking up, they get locked up. I'm so happy I found your channel. You are intelligent and always make good points, and as a bonus you're beautiful. And that's coming from a 60 year old Brit with an IQ of 152. Much respect. ✌️♥️🇬🇧

There is a 2002 film called 25th hour, it stars Edward Norton and Rosario Dawson. It entails your thoughts about thinking of a plan before going to prison, a really powerful movie.
The original Scared Straight movie from 1978 was even more rough than the one shown here. My dad made me and bro watch it in the eighties. 😂

There's a guy on youtube name Larry Lawton, he served time in prison. Now he talks about that experience and advocates for prison reform. Should check out his videos, he talks a lot about why the US prison system doesn't work and why most ppl who leave prison ends up right back in.
Side note, I almost proposed when you made the Rose Namajunas reference.

I have worked in many jails and even one state prison as the Kitchen manager, for a contract management company. I always treated the inmates with respect, and they respected me. As I see it, the only difference is just one mistake. By that I mean, if I had done just one thing different in certain situations, I could have been in that location just like them.
