@@cheothegeo2742 They’ve got a hell of a lot of talented new breed on their team (Olivera, Rabelo, Majerus, Berger, Pham) and some of the old guard is still there (Saari, Glifberg, Penny, Mountain, Burnquist). Maybe not the textbook definition of a dream team, but I think Flip still has one of the strongest out there.
Such a nostalgic part for me. Mark is still one of my favorite skaters and this video will be a classic to me despite most of the soundtrack being garbage lol. Miss this era of skating. Skateboarding had a big following then but it wasn't mainstream yet and made out to look like a sport like it is today. The culture was so different and genuine then. 😪
He was literally skating in front of my house at the basketball court ledge a few months ago. I casually stood there as he said whatsup and was so chill. Legend
I saw Mark at a demo, first try he a did kicky back lip, kicky to bs 50 50 and then a nollie flip noselide, on a waist high hand rail equivalent to an eight stair. He didn't even crouch, just floated up there. It was pretty stunning to watch.
So stoked on seeing him rip my local skatepark Beasley in Hamilton at 1:17 and 4:29 !!! They redesigned the park now but that quarter pipe still stands as does the bowl he launches out of. Soon the bowl will be re-surfaced though (too historic to destroy.) Growing up in Burlington some friends bumped into his parents and they gave them Flip stickers. He's got legendary status here for sure! Used to watch this part in my neighbours basement...good times!
Such a dope part! Fk I love the Sorry trilogy. I used to listen to the O.G. Sorry video before highschool every single day (because I am crazy like that), but also it was that good. Great memories.
@@nikolasnsasi3249 LMAO you must be new, maybe cause he's almost 40, his first pro part video was in 2000 alien workshop Photosynthesis, 2 decades of being on top teams, pro doing high risk tricks .. two skateboarders were identified by the Transworld Skateboarding magazine as two of the most influential skateboarders of the decade spanning 2000 to 2010... @@nikolasnsasi3249 I'm glad you corrected that cause I was gonna ask you if you had any clue how old and how long he's been skating. I started in 1999 and this guy was such an inspiration to everyone when he came bursting onto the scene

I had this 2 page sequence spread on my wall him doing a alley-oop nollie bigspin on a mini ramp, man that looked so awesome. That was his trick for a while
For real, he made nollie bigspinning even cooler than it already was. Apple has been a massacring machine for the past 2 decades. Hope he can pull another 1 or 2 parts out before he hangs it up. Have you ever seen the Volcom spread of him doing a hard flip 5-0 on a bank ledge? It was perfection, wish I could find it so I could hang it up on my wall lol.
Does anyone know what part his Hardflip 5-0 on a bank ledge is in? It was a Volcom Ad 2page spread, but I’ve been trying to find what video part it’s in? The spread was immaculate but I want it see it in real time dammit
Most of the tricks don't get the honour they deserve because the part is cut very fast. There were many bangers especially for the time when the Video came out
We get a lot of pros every year, but none of them ever quite stacked up to guys of the early 2000’s, idk if I’m being nostalgic but these guys were the most confident and stylish looking dudes. Kids are unbelievable these days (not hating) but these guys are true professionals in my own opinion.

If this came out today, it’d be a top part.
He was ahead of his time with his trick difficulty. If you release such part even today, you can put him amongst the top pros.
Agreed. Nollie heel crook down handrail in Sorry

Saw Mark and Chris Cole back in the early 2000's in Seattle. These guys are Legendary
One of the greatest video parts in skateboard history
The reason why I'm into big spins on transition, 2022 and still watching the best video part in my eyes 🤘🔥🔥

Thks flip for posting this part
This is by far one of the greatest video parts in history all history since skating started video parts
Until 2020 all these tricks in this part never look old like Mark came from the future by time machine.
That kickflip melon to fakie my God. Huge.
Apple yard always been ahead of his time. I still remember filming with my friends and watching him get a clip for Sorry. I was like 12

If you want to make it in skateboarding it's not all about tricks, more importantly you need style and flow too, Appleyard has it all.
