I wouldnt mind wokeness in video games if it felt natural. One of the ones I disliked the most was Lev in TLOU P2. Either the devs don't realise or don't care that in human history belonging to a tribe or group meant life or death and the same would apply in a post apocalypse. Lev is also just a child and would not make in on his/her own (I dont remember what gender they were and switched too I havent played since it came out). There is absolutely no way in hell that someone would willingy admit they were trans if it meant getting booted from their group, and I think the much more compelling/organic story would be to play it out how any sensible human would respond and that is by hiding that fact and conforming to fit in. We coulda had a whole questline where Lev confides the truth to Abby because he trusts her and she could be the one to save Lev from a life they wouldn't fit into. Once again organic and compelling.

But I always look at the show "The Boys" as how to insert politics organically and in a way that makes sense within the world. Another good example would be the comic book "Watchmen". I think most people agree with me on that if it's done correctly politics can actually make for a pretty interesting story, but often times especially nowadays it isn't. But again if you don't agree I completely understand it.
