They pull in law enforcement just for APEC and for show. Once the event is over, people in SF continue to have to deal with crimes.
If SF could get a global conference every week, they would solve their homelessness and street crime troubles. They are so concerned with public image, they would actually have a reason to keep their city clean.
Obviously, the residents aren't enough of a reason.
It will be nice for APEC members to see the fourth world life in SF streets

they clean up SF for temporary visitors, but god forbid they fix it for their own residents

SF officials cannot ensure attendants' safety outside of the events. Like the dreamforce, participant was push to the ground by random people on the street.

San Francisco will be the greatest Potemkin village in modern history. For a few days it will be the cleanest and safest city in America.

this is comical.. attendees will have their cars broken into, step on feeces, stabbed by needles and bump into homeless bums
They are flying in and taking public transit or limousine, likely. Not driving themselves. When do you ever rent a car in one of the densest metropolitan regions in the country.

The issues of Unhoused and AOD seemed overlooked and it's my hope that they aren't being hidden or denied whatever it is SF can or does help with simply because this summit is coming. .we're all ONE PEOPLE .. including the above mentioned ... also why isn't housing a right ... opposed to being a privilege? Shelter is life
gonna be a shame when they see what san francisco has turned into I can only hope the actual people of San Francisco can show them the real city. if anyone is reading my comment don't leave anything in your car we have a culture of car burglary here

San Francisco is the last place for hold any events, less alone an international event. Plus, San Francisco no longer have the largest Asian population. The majority of the Asian people already fled San Francisco over the past few years.

San Francisco is one of the world's great cities. We don't care what you m000rons in Arkansas or Iowa or any of the other depressing red states think.

Um my daughter damn near passed from someone slipping that into her drink ... in Nebraska.... I'm sick to death of the ongoing, cruel and judgemental narrative that being unhoused with drug addiction and all that comes with, being seen and therefore treated as a moral issue (example: using words like scumbags ...joking about fetty and such .)... it's a disease, like any medical one .. it's not a moral issue it's a PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE .. .duh and if I am sounding like a person who is permissive or doesn't care that my sweet girls life almost ended, think again..I'm a mom, nana, a Bay area native, I'm also a drug addict who got blessed to have my disease arrested for a long time too... all so the Cancer i fight can have a shot at me instead.... it's a fight daily ... listen.. I love drugs .. all manner and forms ... I DO NOT LIKE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I COME DOWN SOOOOOO... I DONT USE THEM... PERIOD .. we should be addressing the way we approach this...... it's clearly not going to go away since the disease takes out more people than ALL THE OTHER WELL KNOWN DISEASES ----COMBINED ... YEAH I'm certain my beautiful City by The Bay will be okay but as long as there are people hating on other people who have these issues... hate will prevail... only love with conquer hate ... not hate ... good grief . 😭😢😢😢❤️
