I collect antiques and I have a little over 30 in my room I mostly love antique and vintage toys I have a little over 10 antique and vintage toys and I have four dolls a German porcelain doll we don't know how old it is but my mom got it in the 1990s, a Revlon doll my grandma got in 1958, a wind up crawling baby doll with it's original box from the 1950s, and a composition doll from the 1920s
when i started collecting them i never really thought about their expenses. i just thought they looked pretty (despite some of them having worse conditions than others. though i can easily fix that bye molding some clay for the broken limbs and sew them new clothing)
People in comments are saying that the average price is very pricey and, today I went to this shop in North Melbourne that sells Antique things they also sell toys and dolls they were about 20 - 95 dollars.
I went there yesterday and everything was WAY overpriced 400$ for this very small teddy bear 15,000 for a tiny tiny chandelier plus when my mum asked to look at the chandeliers because they were for sale yet they were blocked with shelf's ( the only way to clearly see them was to go through some little hallway that was blocked with a baby gate so you have to ask permission which is fine i guess.). So when she asked the old lady she gave her a glare. And when we gave them a complement we got the death glare . Many of the dolls in the video like the old ugly lady doll is still there after many years! That diffidently was not the best experience but I will admit they had many cool things there.
Generally Brick and mortar stores will have higher prices than online. It could very well be worth 400 for a good quality name brand teddy bear. Though unfortunate they weren't kind to you, they probably knew you weren't buying and didn't want to bother showing stuff. But with being such a big and popular store, they should be used to people/tourists wanting to look at things.
Beautiful and wish they produce them again!
I actually yes, there are some people out there who still make them
There are!!! Look up antique reproductions! MUCH more affordable, and often can look JUST like the originals minus antiqued patina
