You are so fortunate to work for rubylane and to see alot of dolls from different centuries and dolls from around the world. .. What a honor......I'm in heaven right now watching this ... thank you rubylane. ....blessings to all....
First visit to your videos Rachel Saying Hi and be safe from Cornwall in UK...my first doll this year was a Simon Halbig. Now restored and started her closet of outfits...then acquired a Lantenier Limoges in bits..she is whole and waiting clothes
Goodnarning everybody and thank you for the video, I ' m an Italian vintage dolls collector, I didn ' have any idea about all these American beautiful dolls, this is for me a pleseant , sweet discovery! I' ll watch tour videos with enthusiasm, thank you
At 4:28--My little coal town didn't have a toy store. BUT...each Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve, the two hardware stores set up a toy shop full of wonderful toys, from sleds to dolls to cap guns to doll houses, etc. Their display window was equally splendid. Then, when supermarkets started selling the Deluxe Reading brand of dolls and toys, we had two hardware stores and two supermarkets in addition to the Sears, Alden's Montgomery Ward, and Spiegel Christmas catalogues to while away our Christmas vacation (it was called Christmas vacation back then).
I had a Suzy Smart doll. She came with a desk and a little slate. She talked. I have a picture of me playing with her on my 5th birthday🎂 Also I had that big chatty Cathy doll in the sailor outfit
I, sadly was born in the age of barbie, brats, and monster high when these gorgeous dolls disappeared, but I recently found a 1979 horsman doll in a vintage shop and immediately fell in love.
Oh how I wish I could be there. I am a blind person and I am a serious doll collector. I have dolls ranging from the 1950s on into the 1990s and possibly after that. I have so much it’s hard for me to keep track. I would love to be able to touch dolls if I could if I were at a convention like that. 7:07
My mom save all my dolls from my childhood. Barbie, 2 walking dolls , 3 or 4 baby dolls. I have them displayed in a vintage cabinet from a hardware store from back in the days
I collect all kinds of dolls from Effanbee NOMA Talking Electronic doll 1950 - Baby That Away 1974- MGA Toys MY Dream Baby year 2000 - Raggedy Ann & Andy.. LOVE THIS VIDEO!
I still have my Barbies, a Patti Play Pal, a Crissy, a ton of Viewmaster items, loved my spirograph, have two Shirley Temple dolls - one compo and one flirty eye. I also have Pebbles and BamBam. Wow, love the child looking in at the toys.
my aunt currently has a doll from ww2 that was made in the German factory that got bombed. I dont recall the name, I would have to ask again. Anyway, the doll is huuge and still has all her original pieces except for the hands. Even her body, and clothes are intact. She looks like she's made outta porcelain and has white skin and black curly hair. She's in a glass case put away somewhere... but my aunt said she's most likely priceless due to her being so big and everything except her hands being intact. The doll wasn't in the bombing itself, but purchased right before it happend. The doll was handed down to my aunt and it's scary for me to even get near it. Creepy vibrations. It would be very exciting if some doll expert could come see her but I'm not exactly sure where my aunt put her at the moment. Also, from what I gather the doll should be in an museum but I'm sure my aunt's not gonna give her up any time soon. Im hoping to somehow inherit the doll mostly because I know how special it is and knowing how careless my cousin is. (especially with dolls) Anyway, I wish I could make a video of the doll showing it, I should ask where it is so I can! I'm also sooo curious to find out exactly what it's worth
TotallyNotLily, without her hands = less value. But Something like that can be replaced. Many dolls get loose and come apart. People make the mistake of thinking "Broken, ! Gotta' toss it".where you start is lay a clean towel on a bed.Gently lay doll face down on the towel away from the edge. Pull her hair up to get a look at the back of her head and neck. Write down any name, marks or numbers you see.Take that paper to someone that has a shop or a zillion books as I do. See what they say. Before you sell get a second opinion. There are cheats in every profession. Some libraries have books,-- but it's an experienced person like on Ruby Lane you'd need. Love her whether you profit from it or not. She may be a common doll or a prize. Also, measure her from top of head to toe & write that down. Take a picture....you can research her Without the risk of moving her. If she's been stored where she's hot or frozen... Not good. (Dolls want to be comfortable, too).If the eyes come loose wrap them in papertowels and get her repaired as a gift to your Aunt. Just some free advice. P.s. why do young people get creeped out? Lol !!!. I've Cleaned 'em and did surgery on em' and repaired wigs while they stood there bald, ha !
Amberlynn Dare. I did an article on Baby Dear.Alot of Info came from Joanna Gast Anderton.Modeled from children's book artist, Wilkins ?. Concept by Wilkins but sculpt by an untrained artist .The clothes were so sweet and well made...Eloise Wilkins .(Alot of years ago). One dress has tiniest embroidered violets. Precious.
I clicked on to see if you had any dolls I have, so I could learn more about them. My best doll is from 1955 an angel doll with pink hair, she has the original costume with wings and a pair of silver shoes, plus a homemade wardrobe. All my dolls are from the 1950s and they were my childhood toys.
Is your doll with the pink hair 8 inches tall? I have a lollipop(Which is what they called the fantasy hair colors then ), a Ginny knock-off. hard plastic.Alot of those dolls (Mindy, etc.) Were called garage dolls because they were made by upstart home businesses.

AWwwwwwww!. I rember the commercial on tv... "THUMBELINA..... she really turns over ! THUMBELINA... she really turns over ! Turns her head, Rolls over on the bed And. rolls herself right back to you ! TURN, TURN !". Lol I recall my daughter wanted one as a child & we couldn't find one .😙
The earliest baby dolls I remember (and my favorites!) were the earlier soft-bodied Baby Pebbles with her yellow flannel blanket and Madame Alexander’s “Kitty” doll. A little later, I got the hard-bodied Pebbles with the pull-up elasticized black panties, too. Barbie was born the same year I was, so she got a lot of play as well. I don’t think the other favorites that I remember were on your video, but they were Chatty Baby, Baby Boo, and the 17” 1964 version of American Character’s Tiny Tears in her yellow dress.

I'm glad I found out I am not the only grown adult that also loves dolls. I used to feel so guilty.
I, sadly was born in the age of barbie, brats, and monster high when these gorgeous dolls disappeared, but I recently found a 1979 horsman doll in a vintage shop and immediately fell in love.
