Great stuff! Excellent vid and I salute your honesty and just going for it. When did you actually do this?.. was the bog and midges really that bad? I like the look of the trail starting from Ballycastle, but you seemed to struggle to find a decent pitch. well done...atb, Sinco

Hey, thanks for that 🙏 I did it on the 16/17th august...and to be fair the midges were only around the rivers and if I was more experienced, I would have been in and out with my cnoc bag to filter further away from the midges. I definitely prefer the route that I took, north to south, I think south to north has a lot more sloggy climbing involved from the very beginning...at least the N2S has nice climbs through forests etc. Yes, there is nowhere really for a tent pitch...but plenty of spots for a bivvy or a hammock. Because of this, i ended up hiking in the pitch darkness to the side of Slieveanorra , and although it wasn't a perfect spot, it was actually not too bad...was just hard to tell in the dark 😂 think it is a similar location that Specimen Yak pitched, although it seems he has deleted his youtube account 😒 The most honest part that I have not acknowledged until a few months ago, was how a hangover contributed to how hard the next day felt for me...the dehydration and the climb over Trostan 🙄 I am actually contemplating walking from Ballycastle to Belfast....nearly did it this week as I was off work, but might leave it to warm up a bit first 😂

@@SaunterOn Thnx for the info - looking for an easy break in before I do one of Scotlands great trails. Sorry to hear SY has stopped his channel, always helpful for a good pitch... atb Sinco
