I just used this stuff today except 10w30 High mileage mobil1 and Lucas high mileage 1 quart with a boss oil filter in my corolla. Runs like a dream now
I fixed a 'tick' in my big block 454 Chevy that sits in a 1988 P30 chassis under a Winnebago Superchief. Do the following outside or at a big parking lot. I disconnected the hose that comes off my PCV valve after I started it, revved it up to 2000 revs for 40 seconds at the same time spraying Seafoam into the disconnected hose using the red plastic straw that comes with the Seafoam. You will get a lot of white smoke coming ftom your tailpipe but that's a GOOD thing. Repeat the next day. No more tick! Thereafter, when you fill your tank use the appropriate amount of Marvels Mystery Oil. 🐈
I've been pretty lucky with my 06 Yukon with the 5.3. 150,000 miles and I change the oil with non synthetic name brand oil and a few ounces of marvel mystery oil. It does not burn any oil and she is quiet and tick free. Sometimes I add abut 1/2 quart of trans fluid and drive it around for a day or so before I do and oil change.
My 02 6.0 ticks like crazy on cold startup, sounds like an 1800’s sewing machine lol. Lucas helped some. Just recently started knocking loudly at random. Suspecting a cracked flexplate... truck has had great care with only 160k miles. O well..
I'm a fan of Lucas products. Like the K&N Filters also. The best part of a K&N Oil Filter is you can use a socket to remove over the filter instead of an oil filter wrench.
K&N does make a version of their oil filters without the "nut" on the bottom too. It's their S.O. line. It looks just like any other filter. But the clue to doing a filter correctly is not overtigtening the filter in the first place. Just install it hand tight and you're more than sufficiently installed. No filter wrench required for install. That's for removal only. And remember to apply a bit of oil to the new gasket prior to installing too, that wll make removal much easier. I can't say how many times I've removed someone's oil filter and the filter was tightened to the point the filter housing is touching the filter mounting plate on the engine, and the gasket wasn't lubed so you're fighting an overtight filter and a dry gasket that's stuck on the mounting plate. Usually the body of the filter get's crushed in the removal process.
Filling up the oil filter helps build up oil pressure almost instantly. I agree it probably doesn’t matter much, because there is an oil film on the cylinder. I’m not sold on Lucas. If your truck is making motor noises. I would think 10W-30 would be an alternative to 5W-30. I read somewhere that Lucas is equivalent to 80 weight oil. I think Marvel Mystery Oil would be a better alternative to clean an engine. As gummed oil passages or bad oil pump could cause ticking. Otherwise bearings are probably worn.
I usually use the mystery oil after running the truck awhile. I like that stuff too. Been using Lucas a long time. The noise is a lifter tick. I have had a few trucks do that. It's pretty common.
My 02 Silverado 2500hd has a tick as well changed all lifters and a new oil pump and it still ticks - change my oil from Mobil 1 to pennzoil and tick is less noticeable now
I know what you said about yours, but don’t you love when automakers put exhaust pipes right below oil drain path. I did a mercury sable last week and exhaust is right below oil filter drain. Tried to clean but smelled horrible for a day.
I used to use Slick 50's stuff, then I discovered Lucas Oil. I normally use their regular upper cylinder lube bottles with each oil change. Haven't tried the High Mileage.
I'm not to the channel but I like the electric work u do on these kinds of trucks I like how u did that switchback from turn to led and the Patten it has it like it man and btw your very close to were u live I stay in Minnesota not far at all I be going to Wisconsin mostly on the weekends to see hows the climate over there but hopley winter dosnot hit soon because it be some chilli weather up in Minnesota❄
Been tearing my 03 lb7 apart for a few days, labeling and taking pics, finally got the heads off today, going to take them to the shop tomorrow for milling and pressure test. I was getting antifreeze in my oil real bad and everyone said I blew a head gasket but I can’t see anywhere that it was bad. Is there anything else it could be giving me the antifreeze in my oil, while I’ve got it torn apart? Thanks for any advice mossman.
Someone said there is a frost plug behind the water pump. Haven't really looked into that. Maybe the oil cooler in the radiator has broken?? Were your injector cups sealed good??
mossman381, do you know how to inspect the injector cups? I didn’t have any problems pulling the injectors because I bought the tool, the cups didn’t come out and aren’t loose as far as I can tell. Thanks mossman.
@@shanek6582 I would say if the cups didn't come out they were probably sealed pretty good. Pressure testing the radiator would be a good idea. Probably have to rig something up to see if air comes out of the oil cooler lines.
@@mossman381 oh OK so it's pretty much OK so on my next oil change I will buy a bottle of that as well nothing wrong with my engine just trying to keep up with it

That thick sticky oil is going to stick really well to all the moving parts. The thin factory oil will roll right off. I use a stabilizer in all my stuff. Every oil change.

Good Video! Wish I had a lift, being 56 years old sucks getting on the ground. I need to worker smarter & not harder... take care..👍😕👀
I am spoiled with the lift. Makes greasing the chassis so much easier too.

That would get annoying. Burning the oil residue off of the exhaust and making your car smoke
Nice video on the high mileage Lucas oil stabilizer 🌞
the high mileage lucas seems thinner .
Right?!
Its thick af still and i read that it is 60 weight
Lifter tick add a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil about 600 miles before your next oil change deposit cause wear and accumulate inside the lifter
