Yes but I could see Holland, Kalamazoo and Traverse city earning this spot too. Happy Howell got the recognition that it deserved. Ever visited downtown Kalamazoo and Holland?
I have no doubt about Howell winning. They have such a beautiful main street and amazing side streets off of downtown. The shops are all Mom and Pop owned. The only chain in all od downtown is a beautifully renovated DQ (seriously, the exterior is gorgeous) There are so many wonderful downtowns all throughout Michigan, not just Howell, but hopefully winning USA Todays Best Main Street will bring people to visit our state.
Holland, Grand Rapids and Traverse city all should be number one downtown. By the way, Kalamazoo is rated number one in the nation cool city. To add, the downtown Kalamazoo and Holland streets are heated. No need to plow in winter.
I could never get past Howells history involving the Klan. I wish they would do something to acknowledge it and make amends. I think that'll go a long way to repairing its image with Michiganders.. but.. i know why they don't
Howell does have a pretty downtown. If we could make it a bit more bougie then I'm all about it. Natural Food Stores/Metaphysical Store/Steakhouse/Ice Rinks etc.....

Because the government isn't responsible for what happened a hundred years ago. Really no one but themselves is

They do have a health food and produce store, Diamonds Steak and seafood, and an ice rink (where my college plays out of)
@@LivingInMichigan Maybe I’ll buy that Six million dollar property I see. Either way If I buy in Michigan you’ll be my guy.
@@steve19811 That house should check some boxes! Appreciate ya!
They have an outdoor ice rink and more gathering/entertainment space planned by the Depot.

Howell? How much had the judges been drinking when they made this stupid decision? Plymouth Michigan has the best downtown of any city in America.
