Be glad you have those seats, they are a lot nicer than the ones that were originally in them just about 3 inches of foam covered in canvas and not much legroom in those cabs either. I had a license for a M923 and drove it all over Saudi Arabia back in 1990/91.
spectacular spencer is back yay I'm so happy truck looks awesome love you grant and spenc keep this stuff going and he said holy biscuits yay 10:25. Also buch and Garrett are so awesome as well they really elevate the content behind the scenes They need more shoutouts. I got emotionally happy when they were in this vlog Love them
Alright Grant, I did some quick research and got some results. Spencer truck is 1979 M817 dump truck (part of the M809 series). It’s got a 14 L Cummins NHC-250 naturally aspirated diesel that cranks out 250 horse @2100 rpm and 658 ft lbs of torque @1500 rpm.
I learned to drive stick in a 1948 Dodge weapons carrier in 1965 that needed to be double-clutched but a similar experience to learning to shift as you guys had...fun! That 6-by will come in handy. I would look for a low-boy trailer the 6-by can carry the excavator on next. You could also haul grain carts with it, too.
We’ve got one of those with duals and a fifth wheel. It’ll pull a loaded hay trailer through any condition. We broke an airline on the trailer and it locked up the breaks on the trailer while we were loaded and we drug it 2 miles across pastures in a foot of snow.
This video put such a massive smile on my face lads, from hearing you narrate the most engaging farm sim videos to seeing you do it in real life is so fricken awesome man. Spencer seems so stoked with his truck and is clearly a natural at driving manual! Given me inspiration to get out there and try learn myself, thanks homie. You're actually a legend Grant, both of you are, but man, so impressed with your grind. You're clearly an incredibly hard working man with either a god gifted business acumen or more likely; you just worked really hard and studied the greats on how to do it. Super impressed man. Keep inspiring us!! Much love from little old New Zealand, hope the SquadBuilt showcase went/goes well!! Game is looking great, seems perfectly marketed towards actual farmers being able to play a bit when they're on the old autosteer 😅 edit: wrote this at like 3 mins in, seeing and hearing Buch irl was a blessing at the end there.. and Spencers lesson on driving the truck, what an excellent teacher! Your lady did so well! All of you guys rock!!! Maybe if you played less farm sim you would have super strength 🤣🤣
Wow farm boys that don't know how to drive a stick. I've lived in town my whole life. I learned to drive with automatic trans too way back in1975. The 3rd car i bought back im1978 was a stick learned real fast. I've owned quite a vehicles over the years lot of them have been stick.. Good video again brought back lot of old memories.
If your pasture is going to be for hunting habitat frost seed some switchgrass or a native prairie mix after freeze up. It generally works well. The deer and the pheasants will love it. Also a couple rows of crab apple trees provide some permanent food when they mature...Oh and get rid of the brush piles in the future they hold skunks and coon that ruin pheasant nests. Just a thought if wildlife are your intentions there. 👌🏽🇺🇲
Spence, most trucks shift easier if you double clutch. It seems to give the motor time to slowdown to easier shift the gears. Takes practice. Google double clutch shifting.
The second I seen the three of yee lift the golf buggy into the 250 what came to my mind immediately was Hernias all round😂😂Great videos Grant and Spencer can't wait for harvest
The only time need a clutch is starting and stopping. Otherwise shift between 1500-1700 rpm. Definitely will save a lot on the clutch. Have fun with the new toy.
Went to the show, met Spencer and talked to him for a few minutes. Was hoping to talk to you for a bit, but it looked like you were busy with others at the time.
Hope this is constructive but like one guy said you can float them gears if you time it right, also try letting off the clutch super slow, you want to let it out til it’s about to bite and then give it just a tiny amount of gas then let the clutch out slow the rest of the way, just like taking off slow on a dirtbike, and something I have a bad habit of and want to save y’all is keeping my hand on the shifter especially in a pickup you want to hold onto it as little as possible or so I am told. Super cool guys
I drove a Deuce and a half (yeah, I know, it wasn't a five ton like yours) across Iraq in 2003. Couldn't walk straight for a week afterwards. I do love the whistle of the turbo from these trucks.
Congrats on the truck purchase Spencer. When not using it to clean up the farm I'd bet there are plenty of land owners in the area who are happy to pay you to clean up their land meaning the purchase pays for itself. Good move buddy
There are manuals online for your new truck. If you get a proper hitch made for your 5 ton it will haul grain wagons for you! FYI that truck is 5 ton rated off road at operating speeds. Meaning the capacity is much higher. Enjoy gentlemen!
The 5ton is rated by if you put a 5ton cylinder straight up over the rear axles and drive at speed off road don't remember what the speed was to qualify for it Once u dump and the bed starts coming down put the dump lever all the way back and the bed will continue to go down and you can start moving slowly till it gets half way down then u can speed up a little the high low on the transfer case use low when you are loaded and it is soft and over rough terrain use 2nd to start out on the flat and empty we used low side when ever hauling off road we moved lots of stuff with them trucks while I was in the national guard for 24yrs and I worked on them also
Nice truck you guys are getting a lot of use out of it .It just kills me though Younger people never drove a stick shift shows my age we're all brought up on stick shift it was something new to get an automatic transmission but you guys are doing fine be safe.
If she is driving. The seat needs to be changed. (Likely not possible) but blocks can be attached to pedals to make it better. I would suggest not extending bed to max height every time. Go high enough to dump, not to stops. I admit the 45 degree extension likely made loading easier. Can the skid loader reach now?
Thought it was really funny, I was watching the part where they were dumping the first load of brush. I said the exact same thing about the completely vertical dump bed at the same time but Grant did.
Keep up the outstanding work as always! I always appreciate you taking the time to make these videos for us! Funny, me and my buddies farm and we always make these videos to see who can do what, and today I actually made a video of me driving a stick! Im a teen now but dad thought me how to drive, his way was put it in gear and hopefully don't crash, (LOL) Think I started driving stick at ten years? Its a 2001 Ford F-350 v8 manual. You guys look so cool driving that thing, when he starts it up it sounds like the semi in Smokey and the Bandit? Also hope you had a good time in Boone Iowa at the farm progress show, saw buch did a youtube short on it! Cant wait for your game, and maybe some harvesters vids soon, we started to chop corn too! Hope all is well on the farm and with family! YEEYEE, and have a good one!
When driving Manual and when shifting you don´t have to push the brake you just have to push the clutch in all the way when shifting and also make sure it is at the right rpm that is why it ground a gear there but make sure you let off the gas
Grant, that would make a great truck to pull your grain wagons to the grain elevator during harvest, you could even put grain in the dump bed!!
That’s true man
Not really those gravity waggons are not made to go that fast
@@kelvinkufley829 just pull them slow

Well done Spence, been putting in that work on the farm, strength coming in strong 💪🏻

Spencer, 10 out of 10 on a coolness scale.

Excellent idea. Pintle hitch trailers seem to go reasonable
Congrats on the purchase can’t wait to see you buy for semi someday

this is a cool truck i hope it sees a lot of use around the farm
So beautiful, and a working dumper is amazing 😮🤠✌
Man you guys are really living my dream
Congratulations on your military dump truck Spencer

Hi asome truck can’t wait to see what come in the farm next
Let her roll that coal baby nice video and man cant wait for the videos with that thing and cant wait for the American farmer
It helps with weight, dust, etc if you roll the dirt out of the brush before you load it. I’m jealous of the truck.
it was nice to see you Spencer Austin and Buch all together
You guys should come to the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, GA in October!
Sweet truck fellas! Keep up the good work!
That fall was awesome. Your face was priceless. It's rare that you get the face shot in a fall. That should be a picture hung on the wall Spencer
I didn't know that was buch, it's cool that y'all were able to have all of the guys out at the presentation.
Austin farmer was there too

Awesome vid lads, quality.
that was a great video, a lot of fun to watch, you did a really good job

No turbo on this M817. Naturally aspirated Cummins NH250.

You can fab yo box sides and use it for corn and beans in the fall and to haul your grain to the co-op
Absolutely loved this video grant had to come and tell ya.
i have a WWII deuce and a half and its nice but one of these is next level
Bring back Sunday Funday

OH MY GOD you guys should haul gravity wagons with that in the fall
Only if they put a little bit of something in the bed
I have never seen buch before and he was not what i expected he looked like but thanks for the face reveal buch lol
You can use the truck for grain if you make a back for it

You should get another one and make into a pickup for a daily. Great channel always enjoy the content.
Love the videos
A wild Nick Welker, Cole the Cornstar, and Nave appear!
Is he going to yous it to haul Grain this fall
That's an awesome purchase. With the windshield open like that, you should be wearing safety glasses of some sort.
Was that a chrome tip on the f250 I saw there😏
Oh my god 🤣🤣 that's a big boy
Well done little bro 😂😂🙌🙌🙌👏👏
Good 👍 job boys
Did you figure out how to turn off pto? I recently bought one and pto is always on?? I'm trying to get it off
You should put a grain bed on that and make it a grain truck
18:40 Should really call out who that was!! LOL!! Good to See Cole supporting you bunch but my money is on him since all he does is arm wrestle!!

What's this for?
Saw that truck and a wagon at the elevator Saturday LOL. You guys running Corn in the dump bed and wagon to town?
You should get buch to your farm and show the military truck
You only use the clutch when putting it in first. Where at tho in mn?
I don’t know what spencer was on but he was falling down quite a bit 😂
How do you transport that big excavator... The truck is nice addition spece..
You should haul grain in that dump truck this fall.
When driving Manual and when shifting you don´t have to push the brake you just have to push the clutch in all the way when shifting and also make sure it is at the right rpm that is why it ground a gear there but make sure you let off the gas
new grain hauler ? :)
Seen my boy nick Welker for a second
A stunning woman that can drive a truck-- put a ring on it!!!!!
Nice
Wow Spence killing Cole lol. No chance. Impressive
Do not charge the 24 volt System with 12 volt charger you have to remove all the battery cables that jump from negative to positive
Aaahahahah beavis and butthead I love those guys
Maybe in the future you can get semi
You could use it as a grain truck lol
Needed that lift anything mod downloaded for getting that golf cart loaded. . . . Hah
Spencer 💪 wow!!
What engine does it have?
