    Hi, I am also using the Restrap bag (on almost the same bike). I had the same issue with the zipper but didnt even think of your simple solution. Instead I put a small metal sheet under the lower srew inside of the bag. I bend the sheet lenghtwise to give it more stiffness and it holds down the end of the bag really good when closing it.

      That’s also a great solution!

    Hi! What abuot the stiffness of the bag from Restrap? I mean, when the bag is full of stuff (spare batteries, multitool..) and you pedal standing. Does it swing?

    The restrap bag has 4 metal eyelet of which only 2 will be used to bolt it to the frame. Won't the unused ones touch/scratch the frame when there are contents in the bag?

    • @jeremyw.465
      @jeremyw.465  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, no they won’t or we’ll it depends. If the eyelets on your tt stick out by a few mm the other 2 wohnt touch and scratch it but if not they might do so…
      You can see at 04:48 that the eyelets on my tt stick out

    With the restrap bag, did you have the zipper closing issue when using both sets of eyelets to mount the bag?

    • @jeremyw.465
      @jeremyw.465  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey sawc, I haven't used it with the other set of eyelets because the one set fits my bike better, but I am most sure, that the set of eyelets in the bag which I am not using are even worse because they leave even more space between the last eyelet and the end of the bag as the set does which I showed in the video. But good point, I wish I had shown that ;)

    Is the top tube more in the way than the frame bag? I wonder if there is an advantage or disadvantage using the frame or top tube bag for short trips when not too much space is needed.

      I‘d say a tt bag is better for the essentials but a frame bag better for if you need more space to take e.g. a jacket.

    Hello, I am german too but I will write in english so others can understand:
    -could you make a video on your lock? You do tours, but maybe you also need it for commuting in a city, so it would be interesting what choice you made regarding the lock style and strengh
    - i am looking into buying a gravel bike myself, is your stevens gavere still the best choice for you or do you have experiences you didn't share yet or friends with a nice gravel bike of another brand you could also recommend to compare?
    -do you still prefer mountable accessories or would you now favor fixed ones, for example fenders?
    You could also make a video about that, removable accessories have their pros in the summer
    (I for my part would mostly use it in the summer to commute and do tours from time to time)
    No pressure to answer ;)
    Thanks!

      Hello another ONE, thanks for your comment!
      At the moment I am still using my old folding lock from Abus (Bordo, safety level 6) which I have also used on my trips in the past. Funny enough I am looking for a better lock at the moment. I haven't up to now because I don't leave my bike anywhere except for my seller or garage. Lock brands which I find interesting are Tex-lock, Hiplock (D1000) and Litelock x1 and x3. The Litelock x3 is accordingly to Bennetts BikeSocial the securest bike lock in the world, but probably also the most expensive one^^. When I've made up my mind I might make a video about it but I have so many other ideas and plans that it might take a while.
      Regarding Gravel bikes: I am still a big fan of the Stevens Gavere it is the middle option (between the Tabor and the Prestige) and is a very good value bike for its money! The componets are fine the only thing that many other gravel bikes lack is that it doesn't have a hub dynamo. I have put a lot of money in it lately and will make a video about it soon! So stay tuned ;)
      But there are other great brands out there:
      Rondo, Focus (Atlas), Dechatlon (Riverside 920), Stevens (Supreme / -PRO), Bombtrack (beyond 2), Kona (SUTRA / ULTD), Genesis... just to name a few! I hope that helps ;)
      Thanks for the video idea about mountable accessories I have done two videos so far about Gravel upgrades but they weren't watched much... We will see, I actually want to get more into nerdy bike topics since I am an ongoing bicycle mechanic like how one can calculate forces in brakes and gears and so on^^.
      Greetings!

      @@jeremyw.465 thank you for your answers!
      I have been to a local bike shop yesterday and the stevens and cube gravel bikes all have waiting times until september...
      So I have time to wait if you buy a new lock and make a video :)
      I am tempted to buy a steven's gavere, as you say it's great, I test drove a reserved one there.
      It's just that i would want it as my only bike and my reason tells me to buy a fully equipped one...
      But a stevens supreme just isn't as good looking in my opinion lol.
      A cube nuroad race FE seems like a good option, but I am still tempted for the gavere, your added quick rack seems to be stable too
      So I still have some thinking to do, but your videos help immensely, I will continue to watch :)

    • @jeremyw.465
      @jeremyw.465  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anotherone2150 Haha, no my Ortlieb quick rack is off course not stolen! How could that happen, since I just simply lock it to my bike! ;) Then people might take it off but they would not be able to take it with them instead they'd crack the lock, in which case they would probably steal the whole bike and not just the rack ;)
      Cube... yeah somhow I dislike them... And in my opinion the quick rack is better looking anyway because if you use it firstly looks better in my opinion and secondly if you don't use it it looks better because it's not there! And you can't just take off the rack from those cube bikes because it is attached to the mudguard -> just pain!
      Additionally you can also get a mudguard for the quick rack ;)
      If it is your only bike I would strongly recommend buying a more versatile bike like the prestige because it has a hub dynamo! And if looks really are so important to you you can still get some SKS Speedrocker mudguards and the Quick rack to being able to convert it into a sport machine but the benefit is that you can also use as a commuter and touring bike! Unless your plan is to invest into the Gavere and build in a hub dynamo, as I now have, you'll see, but that means buying a new pair of wheels and a set of good lights which costs a fortune, not to compare to a completely spect out bike like the supreme ;)

    • @anotherone2150
      @anotherone2150 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jeremyw.465 I just meant the quick rack isn't moving around, stable, so it seems also good for regular use :)
      Thanks for your further tips, and I will also watch your upcoming dynamo video!
      And yes cube is more like a mass producing brand...so I'm not sure
