No gale force wind is ever going to get in the way of your positivity! Thank you for the all the encouragement on the 5 hour bus it really made it a memorable day.
Brilliant video, Nicola. Thanks for pacing. What an incredible job you did, in testing conditions. That said, the weather could've been worse. It was unpleasant but not 'brutal' as I've seen some describe it. 100th marathon guy (11:03) was Mark Williamson. Top runner and top bloke. The missing flags did confuse me. Running along and hit wall of human traffic. Only then did I realise it was 3 hour pacer, minus his flag! Thanks again to you and the other pacers. Absolutely love Yorkshire Marathon. It's a fantastic event. The hi-fiving vicar has sadly retired. Ps. 20 press ups, because running a marathon is far too easy on it’s own. 😆
Oh no! No more vicar then?! That's sad! The chickens cheering will have to replace him 🤷🏻♀️🙃 The weather could definitely have been worse, it was much better than forecast. Hope you had a great run, it's such a brilliant event 😃
@@NicolaRuns I did have a great day but Yorkshire is one of those races where everything always goes fantastic. Ran 2:55:08 despite having Covid a week earlier. Must be due a stinker at some point - next year maybe?
Congratulations on the run Nicola!! Thanks to your Yorkshire Marathon video last year, I realised that there was a 10 mile race, which I took part in this year, so a massive thank you! Hoping to tackle the marathon next year 🥳
Well done Nicola. Pretty amazing how you can do these runs one after another, especially the marathon distance. At one point in my running career I was sort of close to that. That was a pretty cool marathon and it looked very well attended. I loved the first part with the old buildings. Does Yorkshire tea have anything to do with the city? I love how you cheer people on too. Well done on your pacing duties and I can't wait to see your next running adventure.
Absolutely brilliant video Nicole was lovley seeing you that day was good to finish with you at the end hopefully see you again at a another race🙌 🙂🙂🏃🏻♂️🏃♀️
I just want to say thank you, im 19 and this was my first marathon and I attribute a lot of it to your video of the 2022 one knowing what to expect, so thank you again so much for that! - I finished in 5:30 which I'm actually really pleased with! I did see you at the beginning before it started and I almost came over to say hello but you looked a bit stressed (probably due to the flag issue) so I left you to it 😂. Really enjoyed the video!
Oh wow! Huge congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 that's awesome 🎉🎉🎉 Gosh the wind, the flag, the potential for no mile markers 🤣 not an easy one to pace! Come say hi next time though 😃 It's awesome to have already run a marathon at 19 💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thanks for your lovely comment too 🙏🏻☺️
Your such a motivational character. I do laugh when you do your very informative running 😢commentary, when those around are running , dragging their tongues. Keep running.
It's gonna be windy, I hope I'm gonna be a human flag running a marathon! 😂😂 Only you Nicola😂😂 ps. I'd do 5 slices of cake after a parkrun 😅 Great video as always
Yay too🎉 I finished 3 whole minutes faster than last year on my 2 Nd York marathon and said, never again. I've already signed up. Maybe this time I will do some more extensive preparation.
Another positive was you didn't end up looking like Chi Chi the giant Panda...thanks for a great vlog again Nic and well done on another marathon, very inspirational 🙂. Do you know how many you've done now?
Great vlog Nicola! I spotted you near the baggage drop before the race but you understandably looked preoccupied so I left you to your thoughts. My number held up a lot better than yours. Could part of the pacing flag jacket have been rubbing against it? Paced at Rothwell parkrun yesterday and got a similar proud feeling when people overtook me at the end. I do have to consciously disable sprint finish mode though 😄
Yes, great South was cancelled but it's rolled over till next year so more time to up my game on road running but so much money lost for so many race organisers which is heartbreaking xx I do agree (as a southern softie) with your meme but I wonder if we could do a similar one for road v trail 😂😂xxx
Well done at pacing. Will have to add the race to my bucket race. Come up North.
Ooh yes! Do it 😃😃😃
Good lord I need to smile more! Inside I was buzzing, outside I’m super serious!
🤣🤣🤣 yup, remind your face you're having fun 😜 I say this to Poppy all the time 😂
No gale force wind is ever going to get in the way of your positivity!
Thank you for the all the encouragement on the 5 hour bus it really made it a memorable day.
Thank you so much, that's a lovely thing to say. Well done on a tough day out there! 💪🏻
Recently ran Venice marathon and the pacers used balloons. Seemed to work really well. Great video as always.
Ooh interesting! What if they pop?! 😳🙃
Loved the vid 😊 I did the 10 mile this year, and am entered for the marathon for next year 😊
Ooh awesome! It's more than double the fun of the 10 miler 😃😃😃
Brilliant video, Nicola. Thanks for pacing. What an incredible job you did, in testing conditions.

Oh that's awesome! Love to read this 😃😃😃 Congratulations 🎉 and get entered for next year 💪🏻 Maybe see you there! 🙃
I love that you speed up when people cheer you, I do that too!😂😂😂 I always love your support of the runners and support at all races!
Thanks, awww I'm so pleased it's not just me that does this! I have to be so careful when pacing as I'm easily excited 🤣🤣🤣
Yay!! Ive been waiting for this vlog!!!
Ooh how come? Are you signing up next year?! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Loved that video. So lovely when you shouting to the others just before the finish line „overtake me” - you are an inspiration :) Well done !
Awwww thank you 🤗 I honestly love marathon pacing 😃 it's the best feeling! 🥰

Thanks Eddie 🤗 Yes running through York is beautiful! Nothing to do with Yorkshire Tea though... That's Harrogate 🙃
Great video! Well done getting to the finish line with the flag intact. Look forward to the next adventure 👍
Thanks Jenny 😃 there was so much tape and so many cable ties that if the flag went then I was going with it 🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely brilliant video Nicole was lovley seeing you that day was good to finish with you at the end hopefully see you again at a another race🙌 🙂🙂🏃🏻♂️🏃♀️
Thanks, well done, that wasn't an easy day at the office!
Very good run. Very good time.👍 the run looks interesting.
Thanks 🤗 it's a great event 😃
Thanks for these videos, Nicola. Your enthusiasm is infectious.

Great video Nicola! I ran the Yorkshire 10 mile and we did get pretty wet out there! Well done for such a great pacing job.
Thank you 😃 Hope you had a great race too... Albeit slightly soggy 🙈
Well done , im glad you didnt blow away , youre too nice 😊
I'm glad I didn't blow away too... It was touch and go at a few points 🤣🤣🤣
Your such a motivational character. I do laugh when you do your very informative running 😢commentary, when those around are running , dragging their tongues. Keep running.
Lol... I sometimes think I must be annoying to run near but then surely that's motivation to run faster to get away right?! 😜🤣
It's gonna be windy, I hope I'm gonna be a human flag running a marathon! 😂😂 Only you Nicola😂😂 ps. I'd do 5 slices of cake after a parkrun 😅
Great video as always
We should get that "Will run for cake" top 🤣🤣🤣
@@TheRunningWhale I took a walnut cake and four jam tarts on the marathon, that was my fuelling strategy.😊
@@alanrobinson2229 haha my kind of fuelling strategy 😄 @NicolaRuns on it 🤣🤣
Yay too🎉

Silly addictive marathons hey?! I definitely share the same problem 🤣
Another positive was you didn't end up looking like Chi Chi the giant Panda...thanks for a great vlog again Nic and well done on another marathon, very inspirational 🙂. Do you know how many you've done now?
Thanks 🤗 I think it's around 45... Depends whether I include events like thunder run and E24... 🤔
well done on finishing this one i am doing Trimpell 20 on March 9th at Lancaster 2nd time done in 2008 in 2h32 and this is mostly flat
I've run it before, it's a great marathon training run 😃
Well done! I’m having a really bad FOMO watching.
Sign up for next year! 😃😃😃
If all is well then I definitely will 🤞🏼

Yes! Disabling sprint mode is hard isn't it! Well done though 😃 Come say hi next time 😃 Yes I think the pack/strap was rubbing against my number 🙈😳
Nicola's Hair Tier Week Ten - A 5 Hour Wet And Blow Dry - 9/10
This is EXACTLY what it was like! Best one yet 🤣

Yes!!! Road Vs trail is an excellent point! Yes poor race organisers indeed 💔
I saw someone running with their number in their hand and another one on the floor…I also wondered where the vicar was?
I spotted several numbers on the floor and was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 😱 I'm hoping someone will tell us where the vicar was... Hope he's okay! 🤞🏻
