    Gotta love no fall, tight spaces and custom pipe !!! 🤦‍♂️ most keyboard warriors would be frustrated by coffee break. You and the crew work well together in the challenging conditions. Keep the videos coming… thank you for taking the time filming. The voiceovers explaining what you are doing and why makes it even better 👊🏻

    You need a pipe laser I’ve been doing this for 40 years . It will give you line and grade inside of the pipe much quicker. Plus I always send the pipe home with the excavator no matter the size of machine Hitachi 800 or a 200. Use a strap or push on the end of the pipe with a block of wood your laborers with love you. I have watched your videos in the past and you have plenty of skill to never damage a pipe.

    • @TheLeverMonkey
      @TheLeverMonkey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I. That situation the pipe could only go to the line. So we used a come along to set it. If I send it home we have a pipe hook made just for slamming pipe. Normally the behind guy will pull it home so I am free to dig and set jacks if need be.

    Enjoy the videos. I worked with a small company (non union) where some of us operated many pieces of equipment. Backhoe/Loader; Loaders; Mini Excavator; Hitachi 210 Excavator; Packer; Diesel Plate Packer; Labouring and driving Dump Truck. I didn't run anything great but was able to help out. I do find it interesting that one of your labourers has not "Tuned you up", yet, with your '"snappy" Smart Ass mouth running off. "Typical Operator knows everything". It doesn't matter that you have worked 12hr days for 2 weeks. Maybe that is why your "burrito" was cold (on another video). You can get more flies with honey. Again, like the videos. I would love to see how you would work with a bunch of Portuguese Labourers screaming at you.

      @@TheLeverMonkey , once you get used to backfilling with a side dump bucket, either on a wheel loader or a track loader, you will never want to use anything else. Cuts your backfilling time by 75%. By my area, almost every loader has one.

    I loved how you said just close the fucking door don’t tell me I’m missing it just I want it closed!😂. Unfortunately I understand that all too well! Sometimes ya just gutta take charge because commonsense isn’t always available especially with drivers or labor! But a key laborer is essential to a good team ! Your videos are awesome and helpful! I’m starting a new job in April! I’m 53 been a laborer and operator my whole life! You remind me of myself!! But it’s been awhile since I’ve been on prevailing wage job and I’m used to running the show! Any advice??

    good idea on the come along sending home the pipe but why not just shove it in with the floor of your bucket on the cootchie your running or does not have the power i would think it would it looks like a fairly big cootchie lol atleast thats what we do or put a wood 4x4 in between the pipe and bucket then send it home

    • @terryperrott9913
      @terryperrott9913 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats what I did when I layed pipe for 18yrs, if it was to big of pipe send home by hand or usen a bar , put a piece of 4 X4 on the nose ( bell of pipe ) use the floor of bucket to send it home.

    • @windzer
      @windzer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@terryperrott9913 yea usually our guys do it by hand with a bar if it around 12 inch or smaller. anything bigger i can reach down with the hoe and shove it in. sometimes if we dont have the room we'll use the choker we sent the pipe down with and slide the choker loop toward the bell end of the pipe and get the hook on the hoe down as close to the pipe as possible to the pipe then curl out and that will send home the pipe too basically how these guys are using a come along only our way no come along is needed

    • @TheLeverMonkey
      @TheLeverMonkey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This pipe is not as thick as we would like it to be tho pus it home. So the pipe layer called for the come along to keep from damidging the pipe. It may change as we get going. We start trenching nex weak.

    • @timothygrell4398
      @timothygrell4398 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Another suggestion that might help is cutting a pieces of scrap shoring plywood and cut it a bit bigger then the pipe. Cut a hole in shoring plywood to fish a rope though it to lift it into place. Have labor place the plywood in front of pipe and you can push it in with bucket without damaging pipe. Seems to work good for us. Still need to be gentle though.

    You have a little too much patience, I'm the type that I know what is possible and then what is wasting time when you blatantly have the manpower to remove 2 inches x 10 inches of earth to make the swell as you were describing. So I just gouge the shit out of a side or I hop down and steal a rake from a shit talker and do a hastily demonstration on what needs to get done. Then the big boss notices and gets pissed because he knows when I'm off of the machine it means I'm pissed and someone's not putting in the 5% effort to just get it done. No wonder why my back issues continue to get worse. 🤣
