  • Welcome to Dubbzi Bricks
    This build series is all about trying to make an 11 Foot long TANTIVE IV from Star Wars A New Hope out of LEGO.
    First of all a MASSIVE Thank you to everyone the watched, liked, shared, commented and Subscribed to the Channel on episode 3. It was so nice to see the love and excitement around what I hope will be an epic build series. Your support is appreciated so much.
    This update I work on the cylinder the opposite side to the boarding corridor. I also work on the corridor section where Princess Leia hands the plans over to R2-D2.
    I hope you enjoy the video. If you do please drop me a COMMENT, LIKE, SHARE and SUBSCRIBE.
    Thanks for watching.

      I think this format works better for very large scale builds like this, which most mocs are not. This is a long process build that has lots of opportunities while waiting for new parts in the mail, or while you gotta pause to rethink structural stuff, etc, to make a video commentary. A smaller 500 piece moc doesn't have as many chances to make entire wip videos

    When i got back into Lego a couple of years ago the 2 things i always wanted to do was a massive Jabba's palace MOC, and a massive Tantive MOC.... Looks like it's going to save me a lot of time and money to live vicariously through you. Loved your Jabba MOC and look forward to every 1st of the month for an update in this series. I love making UCS builds of things but your UCS build of this will be humongous and something that most lego builders could only imagine to build. I don't have those skills. Stand wise it’s a question of how much structure do you want to put inside the model. You could make the model self supporting but I think this would need more reinforcement than if you built the stands into the model. As per the UCS type MOC I have you’ll need a stand under the engines as they’ll be a mass you won’t be able to counter balance

    • @dubbzibricks
      @dubbzibricks  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I am def going to be building it into the actual ship @cr4sh1. It is going to make it easier to work on, display and move. Also due to the shape of the ship I think, like you said, it would need some serious reinforcement to its 'skeleton' to stop it breaking on the stand. The Engines weight etc, it will be a case of experimenting as I go along. A fun challenge is ahead.

    • @cr4sh1
      @cr4sh1 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@dubbzibricksare you going to make it modular along its length? I think you’ll need to as much for transportation. Based on that I could see you end up with 3 or 4 sections to the model.

  • @robertobrien5709
    @robertobrien5709 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Surely as the corridor is a simple build anyway and you would have to put extra bricks in to weight the other, wouldn't it just be easier to just mirror each side, will save the faffing of the awkward bend in the corridor as well. Also the quick extra interior for extra figures in more poses related to the film.

    • @dubbzibricks
      @dubbzibricks  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There are several reasons for not adding a corridor the other side. The awkward bend it there in the film so would need to be there. Unless I made this Minifigure scale, which I can't do, I am having to use some artistic licence with the layout to get the main scenes in. I am only having removable panels on one side of the build, so the corridor on that side would never be seen. Also the amount it costs for the a load more corridor sets compared to filler brick and plate would make it a waste of money just for the purpose of balancing it. I would love to make this full minifigure scale and have it so that all of the panels could come off, however the cost of the project and the size would not make it possible.

    Will you, after you finished this one, do a Consular?
    And if so, a basic one or a modified & upgraded one?
    YV-929 for the nose, YG-4210 & VCX-350 for the engines and the arquitens class 546 cruiser for the bridge section that might flow nicely into that YV-929 upgrade.
    Anyway happy building and till next time.

    • @dubbzibricks
      @dubbzibricks  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you @rbleisem, The Consular is a sweet looking ship. I do have another ship that I really want to do after the Tantive and Onyx Cinder, so will see how this these go and then decide whether I tackle anymore ships. I am loving the challenge of doing this sort of build.

    • @rbleisem
      @rbleisem 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@dubbzibricks You might want to make a slight wide change, so that corridor can get a Y look going, with a side room on both sides.
      Just show a emergency bulkhead, that is slammed down, if you have too.
      Will you use the Lars Kitchen a couple of times, for the mesh hall kitchen?
      The YZ-775 no luck required, has a nice quartet of A-wings docked to a rotating tube, it's outside, via four special docking cradles.
      Look her up, if you ever go for a heavily modified Consular...
      The YV 100, YV 260 & YV969, all have the same Consular nose, but the first two have the whole nose, not just the bow with bridge section.
