What a great loop. Sooo much packed into a short ride. I didn't see any comments of people taking the higher line on Waterfall. I looked at it my first ever time down and haven't looked since. The annual pass for OC parks I believe it $50 or $80 if you add the OC Beaches.

Nice work. Thanks for putting it together and promoting directional trails. It will help the trail system allow more users and keep the trails narrower. You mentioned riding the Left line on the Goat Rock sections, I have been riding cleaning for years, 10+. The inside line was recently cleaned up with a Jack hammer, so it's easy now. I guess someone thought Goat needed to be an intermediate trail instead of an advanced.

I ride here all of the time and know these trails well. Everything said here is 99% true but a small warning to people riding in the oaks for the first time, as of mid 2022 the trails are extremely dry and loose so be careful it can get sketch real fast. Other than that the guide is super helpful to anyone who hopes to visit. Keep on being shred

Great to see what it looks like and it looks awesome! I will have a week in the area in June and will probably be able to get three or four rides in. What would you say are the must ride trails in So Cal?

      That's rad!
Must ride trails? It's hard for me to recommend without knowing what you're used to riding. But I can recommend a few must-ride trail systems:
Aside from Santiago Oaks, check out these:
      Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness
A whole range of trails from intermediate to gnarly with ocean views and...yeah. It's the classic SoCal experience.
      th-cam.com/video/wSkpl3yH1gw/w-d-xo.html
      The Luge
This is a single trail but an iconic SoCal trail. It won't be much of a drive from Yorba Linda so might be worth it...even as a morning ride before an afternoon ride.
      th-cam.com/video/sDTL37lv030/w-d-xo.html
      Snow Summit Bike Park
Heck! If you're willing to make the drive up into the mountains, Snow Summit is a whole experience. Such good trails, lift-access, and you're up at elevation in the mountains.
      th-cam.com/video/iDeankTwEp8/w-d-xo.html
      Skypark
And...dang, if you have the time and can get a reservation, Skypark is a hella rad day. And there's stuff there for the whole family.
      th-cam.com/video/SVeco_K5PZM/w-d-xo.html
Annnd...! You'll be in Yorba Linda which is where Tommy Huynh's awesome restaurant is at Monarch 9. You CANNOT miss going there for a meal. If you know who Tommy is, he's one of the OG MTB TH-camrs, a gnarly rider, a hella nice guy, and his restaurant is one of the best Vietnamese places I've been to.
      www.monarch9cafe.com/
      Hope that helps.

@@mtb_alan Thanks, that some great info! I like to ride chunky tech downhill and well pretty much anything as long as I'm on my bike. Waterfall and Chute look awesome and I can't wait to ride them. I do follow Tommy and will certainly be have a meal at his place! SoCal is so different from Georgia. We get steep and gnarly too, but the dry and loose rock will a new challenge for me since we don't have much of that here. I will check those links too. Don't know if I will get to hit a bike park or not while I'm in town, but I am going to get to spend a day in Angel Fire on the way out there. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. If I get to meet up with you when I'm out there, I'll buy you a beer to repay the favor.

I've been going to SOaks since 2014, and I never knew Waterfall was its own trail. I always thought people talking about waterfall meant the alt technical entrance to Chutes downhill.
Props for recognizing all the effort the Nondot folks put in to make these trails better.

Glad to help! I used to think the same thing until somebody told me about the Waterfall trail. I do think there are a couple different ways to do the lower half.

I'm too lazy to read all the comments, so if this was already stated I apologize. You can get a year pass to OC regional and wilderness parks for $55.

I have considered it. I was thinking that if I set up a Patreon or TH-cam Membership program, I would start doing them. COVID hasn't helped.
All that being said, I have in the past collaborated with The Path Bike Shop, and they organized a ride for me (th-cam.com/video/zgl9xhw3kMs/w-d-xo.html).

@@AydensFootballTalk It's a nice place to work on some of the skills you'd need for Chutes Ridgeline. The roller all the way to the right (looking up from the bottom) is a nice starter.
