  • Dreams can feel real and significant, but they can also be products of our imagination. How can we distinguish between meaningful dreams and those to be disregarded? How can we interpret our enigmatic dreams and address the unsettling ones? It’s time to explore this topic through the lens of the Talmud and Kabbalah.
This lecture was given by Rabbi Mordechai Dinerman at JLI's 17th annual National Jewish Retreat. For more information and to register for the next retreat, visit: Jretreat.com.

Excellent presentation. I have had very specific and accurate dreams, about me and people that I love. I may have learned to distinguish the real from the irrelevant 90% of the time. If your institution ever needs to hear experiences and/or opinions, I am the most willing to speak about it in private

I agree every dream is important whether it is meaningful or otherwise. Since I started engaging with the Archangels identified in Ruthless Yokes Breakers a book by Bode Jackson, my dreams no longer scare me. If the dream is bad I trust the angels to deal with it to my advantage.

Regarding the idea of fasting on Shabbos because of a bad dream, why isn't the obvious approach of getting three people together to reassure you that nothing bad will occur - a first option?

When in despair Jesus lifts us up. Father God all I have is you to turn to. I know you hear my prayers as a single mother with two sons on the spectrum. I’m overwhelmed trying to provide for them. Heavenly Father help me to provide for my sons they require a lot from me. I’m tired. Struggling to buy groceries. Struggling to pay bills. Struggling to do it all. BUT I trust still trust in you Lord. I know you will provide.

Funny. The entirety of Jesus being the Messiah relies on some very basic things that never happened

How would you RECOGNIZE: King David King Solomon, or Ahab in a dream, since we don't have any images of them?!

The greatest thing God kept His covenant with Abraham. Abraham was willing even to sacrifice his own Son. In return when Abrahams children were in need for a savior God didn't hold back His Son either. But this time no Angel came to hold back the knife. It shakes me into the core of my heart that it took this horrific action to redeem me from my sinful nature. I can clearly see that I deserved to hang on that cross. God is holy and no sinner can enter into His presents. The cross shows me God's Love for me and the uncompromising righteousness of God when His Son was made sin for me He did not compromise on his own Son. I know my sins are forgiven. When I look back they ddo not hurt any more. The only thing I want is to love God from all my heart and mind. I often fail but the hope God has given me is stronger than any accusation of the devil. He is real and the God of this world. But for me defeated through Jesus on the Cross. To me the Cross is God's power. Who doesn't believe is condemned already. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. Blessed is the man whose sins are forgiven Psalm32
