I found your channel by accident today. So far today I've watched two sessions from this seminar...loving it. I'm a Christian and see the Jews as my spiritual older brothers, this series is giving me wonderful insight into the nature of my brother....the chosen one of God. ❤

The Amish Rabbi story, and subsequent points about difference, make me think of a photo from a holocaust archive, confiscated from SS possession. An Orthodox Jewish family, elders bearing beards and peyos, seated normally around a table. On the back of the photo, a Nazi had written: "Dear Sturmer, this says it all!"
To a non-Jewish eye, this family photo must have seemed exotic. The meaning is clear, especially considered the recipient. 'Look at these people who are inherently different from us, even though in Germany they tried to fool us by assimilating, by looking and dressing and acting the same.'
I am getting tired of seeing takes on the Holocaust or bigotry where the lesson is:
"people shouldn't be hated for being different, because all people are the same," instead of
"people shouldn't be hated for being different, because being different is beautiful."

Thank you, a superb lecture made with humour, passion and 'common-sense'. (Loved the humour!) It's a great pity that you even have to make the points you made. Shouldn't it be obvious to everyone? On the point about 'equality' I thought it meant, no matter the race /religion all people are equally worthy of respect. Surely we must all agree on the saying 'vive la difference' (in ALL areas of life!!) You are so right and Life's diversity may be a tough challenge, but without it - bland, boring with no chance to learn and progress beyond ego. I am English. not specifically religious, from youth vaguely wondered what the 'Chosen' meant; never ever understood why anyone would be anti Jewish and still don't understand. Looking at old and recent times around the world, it is as if being told they are Chosen, Jewish people have carried a heavy duty throughout history..

Excellent lecture. However I'm not so sure about the Rabbi's point about Jews being of different races. That is definitely the case now, due to millennia of dispersion and intermarriage, but the original Jews were of one ethnicity/race. Is that correct or am I mistaken?
