Thanks Neil! I really do like it in this color too! It was REALLY close to not getting the decals at all...it looked crazy good without them, but I really had to carry through with the restomod lol
Thanks so much - I really want the videos to be fun to watch...and when you think about what we do to these little toy cars, it's pretty darn funny lol
Thanks Jimmy! I love those resto black walls too...so much that they turn up in another video late this week lol I was thrilled when I saw that Second Chance had them available.
The Poison Pinto is an excellent casting, it was great to see one being revived. Brother you did a damn fine job, the one I did not so long ago almost looks as good as yours lol👍
Thanks Loston! It would be fun to totally blow one of these out detail-wise...maybe someday...but until then, I have something else on the back of the bench that's somewhat similar...and will get a more "complete" treatment lol
Wow, you put those decals on so smoothly! I like the addition of the steering wheel. Wow, this build turned out sick, honestly 🙀 i love it! Perfect for halloween 🎃
I did one of my own, but used some Spectra Anti-freeze shade of green. Interesting fact Hot Wheels is bringing back the casting in Monster Truck form. That black one you made is the one that Hot Wheels never made. Looks great. Perfect for Halloween. I hope they bring back the actual casting to the mainline.
I really like the dark color and the decals. The color is off black and has a great luster. Well done as always, although I cant believe you haven’t done a lime ice version… 😂. Thanks!
Thanks Brian! It is kind of crazy that I haven't done this in lime ice...it would be perfect for it. Who knows? Maybe one of these days...and maybe I'll tweak the decals again lol
I've been wanting to do a "remedy" version of the Pinto, but it still catches a fair price on Ebay. Love the black on black. Although I have to admit, Lime Ice would have been 🔥
1st thing I noticed at 2nd viewing are those great details of tools in the back (wrenches and a safety hook?) that are completely hidden by the windowless back. On the other hand we could see there was no steering wheel originally. What was MATTEL thinking ( WWMT ?) I would've gone with a dragster/funny car wheel and decaled phony headlights and tail lights just like a real funny car. 1st thing at 1st glance...And the G.O.A.T. for greatest goat sound goes to...Jim Silva! Totally maniacal, and dare I say Joker-esque? Honorable Mention for the terrific tweezers tip. Thanks for all the fun you provide us! I gotta goat now! Have fun with your flock, er... toys!
Outstanding Jim. Honestly, I think it looks better than what Hotwheels put out originally. I have a couple of PPintos myself, so definitely got some ideas from this video. Keep up the good work!
That is absolutely cool my friend I love the black paint on it looks really cool my friend I'm going to take that same casting and a 65 Mustang and make a Mustang panel I know Matchbox made one but I want to make my own you have a good one you stay safe and healthy out there and God bless my friend
Thanks JC! I did a Mustang wagon awhile back that was a lot of fun - it didn't use the Pinto back (can't remember exactly what it was now lol) but it sounds like it will turn out great! Take care and stay safe out there!
Always love your work... and always hated the medium back wheels on this hotrod...it was originally released w large wheels which is why the wheel wells are so large...great job on a cool car
Got this same one looks about the same as what you started with I got mine for 50 cents but I love the look of these old cars maybe some day I’ll find something and restore it back to factory im still new to doing customs and such I need more time in the game awesome video and job you did 👍👍
Thanks! It's a great little casting and would make a perfect one for you to use to restore. About the only thing to be careful of on this one is removing the interior - how it slides back (the "grill" slides back out of the metal body) before the interior can drop out. Have fun when you decide to restore it!
Wicked cool Poison Pinto Jim. Wouldn't change a thing. Think the reason the glass is like it is was so they could do a port window version. So recreating Jeff Dunham's Pinto wagon would be easy peasy. Have a great and safe Halloween and I'll catch ya later brother 🍻
@@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms it's a color I'm looking for to redo a Cuda. I think of it as Grinch Green but when I looked up that color it was wrong. I've tried to tell Santa a little darker than this, lighter than that but I guess I'm going to have to play with mixing until I get it 'right'. Doesn't help that I've only actually seen it once. Funny it was on a classic that was minted out body wise but Santa had to help the guy push it out of traffic and into a parking lot when broke down.
@@GrinchWitch have you googled the Mopar High Impact colors? I’ve always loved Sublime, but it’s a lighter green where what you’re looking for could be Sassy Grass.
looks great, interesting idea with the metallic black. still it looks like muted colours, like a very early colour film... if you had used grey for the decals I'd have gone check my monitor settings. XD aside what banditta4life down there said, those extra parts of the windshield are keeping the interior in place as well. (aside that as well, if there were windowports, wouldn't they have to bulge outwards?)
It's a fun and interesting color to use...and it looks amazing in person. About the extra parts of the windshield, it probably is a less expensive way of keeping the interior and glass in place.
Hi Jim. The Pinto Van looks really cool as a small commercial, never mind the restomod hot rod! Really nice result - subtle! As a point of interest, what strength is the IPA you are using?
Great job, Jim! It’s the modern version of an old classic!
Thanks Bob!
A cool restomod, the new colour certainty gives it a more sinister look, fitting for Halloween.
Thanks John! I've wanted to do this casting for a while now...and I just couldn't resist going with this color at this time of year :)
absolutely love what you did to it. looks way better black
Thanks Neil! I really do like it in this color too! It was REALLY close to not getting the decals at all...it looked crazy good without them, but I really had to carry through with the restomod lol
Great job Jim. Poison Pinto is one of my all time fave castings. Looks great!!
Thanks Pete! It really is a fun casting!

Thanks Mark! Hope you have a fantastic weekend and Halloween too!
Another great restoration, Jim! I agree…lime ice would be cool! 😉 Love those resto black walls too…I need to grab some.

Love how it turned out Jim, and that is a great end result colour! 🥰
Thanks Summer! I couldn't have been any happier with how that color turned out!
Awesome Silva'd Poison Pinto! 👊❤
Thanks so much Ricobobe!
Call poison control!!! This is sick!!! Awesome!!!
Ha!!! I have that goat!
🤣🤣🤣 Thanks! That goat is going to make more appearances...and thanks to my oldest daughter, it will be making a wide variety of sounds 🤣🤣🤣
Rock on!
Looks great Jim! Great twist on the original and cheers to another few gauzy shots!
Thanks! Any video with Gauzy is a better video then one without it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice build Jim!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Kevin!
That turned out BadA$$ Jim love the blackout.
Thanks Mike!
Fantastic resto-mod Jim!
Thanks Ron!
So sweet! Looks great.
Thanks!
Awesome build Jim! That black paint is giving off a Hearse vibe!!
Thanks Patrick - you should have seen it before the decals, it looked even more like a hearse then...hmmmm, maybe next year :)
Slick as hell! Dig it!
Thanks Scott!
excellent job Jim, it turned out great!
Thanks Bruce!
Looks great!

Great job 👍
Thanks!
Great resto love the color. I’m going to have to look into that Aluminum chrome paint. 👍🏽😎
Thanks Armando! That paint really works well...in fact, I've ordered another can just to be sure I don't run out any time soon lol

Wicked looking customish Poison Pinto. I actually painted a poison pinto in lime ice, I’m too lazy / cheap to buy decals to finish it.
Thanks Paul! Gotta love that lime ice!!!
👍 Thx 🇧🇪.
Thanks Rudi!
Noice, thoinks.....👽
Thanks Uri!
Would look hot with a chromed rear bumber as well!
It would!
Great build! I'm looking for a green similar to the original, maybe a touch darker.
Thanks! Is the “touch darker” green for a witch themed build?

Thanks...and about the IPA it's 91%
My pinto was a bad casting. Really soft zinc on it. Wire brushing while cleaning cut groves into the metal so deep they wouldn’t come out in sanding.
Dang that's too bad...you just never know when something like that will hit.
