The writers and showrunner for Invincible is the perfect representation of what it looks like when they actually understand and love the source material they are adapting!
Yup, they change a lot but it's very consistently for the better. They made that one mistake with Amber (her berating Mark for 'leaving' then at the college makes no sense if she knew he was five feet away saving their lives) but otherwise they've universally improved on the comic

19:33 Around here, Atom Eve says in her comics: "For one moment I had the power. I could have fixed it. ..I could have brought you back. But I used it for revenge instead. ..I'm sorry mom and dad. ..I love you." I wish they kept her mournful lines from that scene. Also, as she beats her last standing brother, he says in the comics "...They don't care about us now. ..Now they have you. ..Goodbye, Eve." right before he disintegrates. Maybe they could have kept that line as well.
There is an interesting detail that I feel is hinted at but not discussed. This is the first time Omniman wore his costume. Nolan was an active for years just wearing his Viltrumite uniform. Given the timing of Eve’s birth Nolan probably commissioned his suit right after Mark was born or while Deb was pregnant. Meaning Mark is the reason Nolan pretended.
Cool idea but we literally see Mark is walking and talking. And hell eve is about the same age so even if we didn't see it, that should still be obvious Not to be mean, just doesn't hold up

I think her dad is incredibly insecure: he knows he’s not especially smart, not particularly good looking or charming, has a temper… and so he needs to think of himself as “normal.” Look at the literal only time we see him and Eve having fun: they’re watching something on tv together and she’s too young to have much independence. Her being a traditional genius would be bad, from his POV, but at least he could tell himself that it was something he could brag about in a normal way. Instead he notices that she acts in ways that people notice & consider odd (staring at the floor, etc.) and then knows things she’s got no right knowing. She draws attention to them, both better than him in a way he can’t understand & exactly the sort of “not normal” that unnerves him.
Seen someone else saying that it's his fear of losing her too, that he doesn't want to lose his only child that he thought was a stillborn. Plus in a world where dangerous super powered beings and violence is common. It's just that he's not emotionally smart and doesn't know how to communicate. Not saying I side with him, it's just that there's layers to his character.
Do you even know how scary it is to see strange behaviour of your kid who barely survive her birth. We know that it's her superpowers, but he is not. It may be serious problems with brain.

Her powers are definitely more impactful. But in a 1v1 situation I think she loses to a Viltrumite unless she unlocks the ability to control animals again
Notice how in the beginning this was before black samson lost his powers, because in the first season he mentioned a few times he was part of the guardians before losing his powers, also the green guy was in the line up of this episode where as in invincible it was that girl instead
Wow,Atom Eve's origin story is so sad and I've already felt bad for her in season one cause her parents were terrible,well her dad mostly...she really found her inner strength to get through this on her own and became a superhero :)

The only difference I’d make to your ‘Smallville’ analogy concerning Pete finding out Clark’s secret and Eve telling Val her’s is that there aren’t any established superheroes running around in the ‘Smallville’ universe while there ARE superheroes and supervillains in the ‘Invincible’ universe. It shouldn’t be that crazy that your friend has powers yet Val runs for the hills. Pete on the other hand not only finds out his best friend is an alien, it takes him the whole episode to fully understand just how dangerous knowing Clark’s secret can be.
If you don’t know about voice acting, a voice actor is paid and expected to do as many as three characters before they get a bump in pay so expect to hear variations of a single actor in a single episode
Really enjoyed this origin story. It was so great to see the Guardians of the Globe again. Would love for you guys to watch the second trailer of Dune. :D

This episode hits different if you watch it before season 1! I watched this show recently! And the site I watched it from, did a pretty good job of putting this episode before episode 1 of season 1! So I watched it as the first episode of season 1! LOL And I don't regret it!

Also my issue was she showcased a power set far far beyond what she did as an adult in invincible. Seems to me she could have wiped the floor with the flaxens as well as a lot of other things that caused a lot of death.
Seeing Eves origin Mark is a brat. On her birthday Eve was forced to kill her siblings and watch her entire family die and she showed mercy and became a hero. Mark had a break up after a six month relationship and decided to quit

But before this all went down, he was busy complaining to her how his life sucked after the Amber... incident, and I imagine at that point Eve was trying really hard not to roll her eyes. Though to be fair, he did get clubbered quite a lot too in his short superhero career, so that part is a valide complaint.

The mental block is the only thing stopping her from being essentially the most powerful being in existence.

This episode was garbage. If Eve can manipulate matter on a molecular level why she didn't attempt to heal her mom or the Dr. Then her revenge, make the bad guys forget 😂😂😂😂
You clearly didn’t watch the episode, it was literally stated that they had placed a subconscious block so she couldn’t manipulate living organisms💀 she would have to push herself to the very limit like what happened in the ending.

Yes that happened mark actually saves her quite a bit later on due to the viltrumites being absurdly strong. Shut your damn mouth about things you don't know. He has an important role at some point in the comics where his backstory is explained in short so it would make sense.
