- Filmed by Malcolm Wrigley in 1991 and 1992, this video shows some of the freight action on the Redmire Branch in the North East of England. Beginning in Northallerton, we catch trains at various locations along the branch, including the vintage signal box at Bedale.
Great video; really fascinating to see the toll booths that open and close the level crossings.
Love the level crossing sequence Phil.
FANTASTIC video my good and dear friend, it really is fantastic 🤩🤩🤩🤩. Like 11 👍!!!!!!
Fantastic video - I enjoyed the tug driver riding the clutch at 14:15 onward...
Glad you liked it 👍
Thanks for sharing this. I find these old workings fascinating. It took me a while to get my head around the geography, but I guess the opening shots are overlooking Northallerton East Junction with Boroughbridge Road LC in the distance. As I understand it the Redmire Branch is still owned by Network Rail, but leased to the Wensleydale Railway. The limestone trains are long gone, but rumour has it you still get the occasional MOD working as far as Redmire.
Super nice video Phil :)
Glad you enjoyed it
