After an extended overnight drive with a Ti model, I was thoroughly impressed. We own a 2021 Outback Touring and this Nissan stacks up very well, nicer cabin lots more tech and very comfortable ride. Good review :)
I have owned 2 CVT cars now and never once had a problem. The second is actually this in the TI-L variant. It is quick off the mark and more economical than a Lancer. I just did a 1200km trip in it and was impressed with the ride, power and comfort. Overtaking was not an issue and the adaptive cruise control took over very well when idiots cut me off on the highway. It hit the anchors before I could respond.
Owned an xtrail 2009 and it nearly causes accidents couple of times due to sluggish cvt transmission not responding fast enough when you try to overtake in highway and transmission slipping after 80,000 km. Im not saying new xtrail will be doing the same. But enouh to make me never owning cvt untill now.
I've got to agree but for different reasons. The engine could be more powerful given the size of the car but that would be at the cost of a higher fuel consumption so for us, it's fine. Other than that it is such a comfortable drive, very smooth. Such a lovely suv
I like your reviews, they're concise and informative and the extensive amount of footage of the car inside and out is great. I think this is so much nicer than a RAV4; especially with the interior.
I can sense your enthusiasm and passion in your reviews and I think they would be even better if the golf putt handle shake is relaxed and toned down a few notches 🙏🏆
The worst review I’ve seen on this generally good channel. The reviewer is in a major hurry and the endless jabber about the nappa leather is nauseating.
It is unfortunate and unnerving that this guy appears to be sight-impaired, though I'm sure he is not. It keeps me distracted from what he is saying. As a package the car seems OK and definitely better than the previous model. For the money I think there are several better looking competitors.
100% agree! I've owned my hybrid RAV4 now for over 2 years (50,000km) and all I can say is it's AMAZING! I'm yet to see another car in it's class that is better.
Has Nissan done enough to upgrade the X-Trail?
Fair
Unfortunatelly no. :/

To my eyes, the interior looks better than Lexus NX and UX.
This is exactly what i’ve been saying everytime I check up a lexus nx

I drove this and i thought it was very responsive. I normally drive an SS and SV6.
I own one 2024 mid-trim , i really like the responsive steering which adds an unexpected joy when driving the car of this segment.
Only thing I hate of Nissan is that horrible CVT transmission
Have read that the Jatco unit is better than it once was - but yes, a torque converter auto would go nicely.
@@phyju Nissan cvt are the worst kind Toyota has the best cvt I don't have issue with cvt only Nissan ones the worst kind
@@phyju 100% agree mate
@@hipetwaHow about the Subaru cvt?
@@EastWood2004 subaru same cvt issue as Nissan but better then Nissan cvt now they improved I don't know about Nissan if the fixed their cvt issues
Good to see the reviews being more succinct and less of a long conversation.

What lets these cars down is the CVT.

1 gear on empower models quick off the line wet or dry
Manual box option please, cries a lonely voice in the wilderness.
CVT is a flat no, reliability issues alone.
You’ll need a Sportage if you’re after a manual in this segment now.
@@chasingcars Jesus, there's not a win to be seen anymore is there?
Can't even start your car with a crank handle anymore......

The moving hands are back and so distracting
E power X trial haven't gearbox?

After watching the Drive and Carsguide glowing review of the new petrol X-Trail, you sure you were driving the same car? 😂
We stand by our independent commentary. :)
Will you be doing a review of the epower variant? Would love to see that.
We have a review of the X-Trail E-Power Hybrid available here: th-cam.com/video/hyVgFFaFhk4/w-d-xo.html
Put a turbo on that engine and take away the CVT and it will double its sales.
The only way it would beat a RAV4 is by pushing it of the cliff first.

Looks nice...however, Nissan messed up the engine and drive train, we need fuel economy!!!!
I suppose they’d say - buy the incoming hybrid!
What a crap review!
Obviously you didn't drive it far.
If that's all you can get excited about....
I would rather use and live with a CVT than Hyundai’s shit 7-speed dual clutch.
NA + CVT yeah nah
Not an especially quick combo. The hybrid goes harder.
Giant POS, falls to bits after 4 or 5 years, Toyota last 15-20 years
Rav4 beater?
A resounding no.
It’s the car to beat.

Had a RAV4 on order since July 2021. Doesn’t look likely I’ll get that until mid 2023, so considering other options
@robbriigmann3459 waited 9 months for my 22 Cruiser AWD model, received august this year, worth the wait for sure.
Looks horrible, the last gen looks so much better.
Styling is of course subjective. I don't mind the look of the new one. Bit colour-dependent, though.
