I like how Johnathans videos get right to the useful drills rather than droning on about being over the top for half the video. Focusing on building correct movements. Super helpful.
You and Eric Corgano are my favourite teachers on TH-cam. You both have such a brilliant way of describing the movement behind the swing. You guys should do a joint video. Thanks for all your help.
Your one of the best teachers out there…I have a weird problem with my golf swing trying to use my feet and legs as a ground force…I am right handed and I am left legged…lol….I played a lot of baseball and football when I was younger…I would throw the ball with my right hand and kicked the ball with my left leg…in my golf swing my left leg try’s to be dominate on my backswing and over reacts on the downswing…causing a lot of confusion
”Hands down the best drill" made a night and day difference in my swing ..... This will surely augment the same ... Once again a very articulated and appealing instructional video.... Thumbs up...
Thank you coach for this set of exercises. They are a reality check. I after attempting #1, I consistently stand facing well right of the target. Now my hopes are grounded in the reality of what my body can and can not do. Thanks, again.
Great video thanks. I have a tendency to be in to much of a hurry, when I slow my takeaway down it gives me more time to hit the ball especially with my woods. Are there any key thoughts or reference points to help me slow down and stop rushing. I know the more relaxed I am helps but I find that hard to do when I want to see the result of my shot.
I played today after doing these drills for just one day, and absolutely nutted a couple of drives and a five iron. I missed some to the right which I think was due to not getting the right shoulder down through impact. This instruction and supporting drills is far better than the instruction I’m currently paying for!
In my opinion your legs should start straightening when you start your release, bracing against and accelerating it, and finish when your trail arm reaches full extension, some time after impact.
Thank you as i am 74 , is it practical to move the ball a bit more back in stance, cause i cant rotate my shouders perpendicular to the target anymore ?
Yes, if you are having trouble rotating your shoulders you will not be able to avoid releasing the club earlier so it is worth experimenting with ball positions, but don‘t go further back than the middle.
Next 20 per cent->Release your neck and head as it stays out to the ball? Works amazing well for me to maintain spine angle and to prevent a break in the chain of power, path and face control.

After watching your video I watched a slow motion video of Rory McIlroy iron swing and bingo! All three motions are there. Thank you!

Nice to see a coach who understands the Pareto principle. I won’t live long enough to fix every single swing fault.

Once again brilliant teaching
Thank you Sir
I really enjoy your ( break it down ) into smaller components instruction.
I feel a better swing is attainable.
Great instruction !
Ahhh, the Pareto principle applied to the golf swing. Brilliant
Just have to say. You are the best 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 greets from Germany
A wonderful follow-up to ‘Six drills to anchor your golf swing’. Thanks JT!

Looks like I've got a new favourite TH-cam golf coach. Thanks for the breakdown, great vid.
Simple but effective drills/building blocks! I definitely will be looking into implementing the right shoulder move in the downswing. Well Done!!
great instruction. love the different angles
Your drills have help me immensely! Thanks for what you do.
Fantastic presentation and breakdown of the basics!!!

All about slowing the arms down for 90% of golfers counter intuitive but a must 👍
Everything with the down swing evolves and turns around my left hip and leg.
It helps me tons to get the feeling I’m more in my heels with my toes coming slightly off the ground. Anyone else feel this?
Yes
Beautifully succinct as ever, Cheers!
I will use these daily - looks warmer!
A very well presented set of idea's which convey a solid foundation to the golf swing. Well done!!
Great content. Thanks!!!!!

How many reps, how often, and for how long, TY for a great video
The 80/20 rule is the Pareto Principle. It is applied to many, many things. In most cases it's almost just a metaphore.
Spot on as usual
Excellent !
Thanks!
🙏
Does the straightening of the legs occur before, at or after impact?
In my opinion your legs should start straightening when you start your release, bracing against and accelerating it, and finish when your trail arm reaches full extension, some time after impact.
