Thanks for the reminder, only heard stories of roaches like that, then I moved there (Hawaii) . Years ago , but you know what they say. Everything else is good. 👍🌴🌴🌴

Yeah, if you can get past the roaches, it's a pretty nice place to live 😄

Great, honest video. Thank you for this! I wanted to move to Hawaii with my (Puerto Rican/Mexican) family because we all have PTSD from trauma, anxiety, and depression. Even my little kids...I was hoping that the Aloha spirit, the island time, and the weather would help them to be more at peace, and less anxious. However, we would definitely be freaked out about the roaches. I grew up with them in NYC, but we don't have them now. I'm not sure what to do!

Aloha! What did you end up doing? If you haven't already, I recommend visiting, at least, to see for yourself. You might not think it's so bad.

I was born and raised in Kaneohe, and I hardly ever saw spiders. The geckos would eat them all. I did have centipedes under my house (it was a raised foundation), even though it rained a lot. There are a lot of cockaroaches, but there are products you can use to kill them all. You didn't mention the termites and you briefly mentioned the mosquitos, but on the Windward side there are a lot of those two things.
The speed limit is not what is causing the traffic. It's just that the freeway system is not meant for so many cars. Most lanes on the freeways are three lanes, the on/off ramps are very short, and there are too many exits, basically outdated planning. That's why the H1 viaduct by the airport moves better, more lanes, less exits. Also, the video you showed of the 45 mph is going down hill on the Likelike. 45 is fast over there because it's down hill, it's usually raining, and there's a lot of turns.

Ah, yes, the termites! I will put that on my list. I think I have mosquitos in a video I need to edit but, if not, I'll definitely add that. Great points regarding traffic!

😆 It feels like a snail's pace, compared to Texas.

People do that right-of-way driving thing in a lot of cities... hesitating on who's going to go because they're being nice....that isn't only in Hawaii, lol.

Thank you for this video. I am from Los Angeles but I own property on the big island Hilo but my property is on HPP and yes I can relate to a lot of stuff that you are saying when I go there to go visit when it comes to the roaches. I am not ready to move there yet because I’m too young I feel maybe when I retire but I like to visit the island. I am too used to Beverly Hills Rolls-Royce is Ferraris and all that materialistic crap right now so I’m not ready to move to the big island. Well thank you for this video
