Great battle as always guys. Thanks so much for the weekly content. Loved both the lists. Couple of questions for Ken. I was interested in your decision not to include any of the tri fighter aces. What made you decide to go with the 6 tri fighters instead? Also with all your long range red dice I was surprised by how quickly you closed the gap. I was wondering what your strategy was there? In terms of Mar Tuuk, I think suffering the extra dice on the shields is normally better than taking a crit. As soon as a side is exposed those redirect tokens get locked down quickly.
Tri-fighters - this was based on cost and I wanted to focus on Mar Tuuk instead of the Aces. This was my first run with Mar Tuuk, I'll have to rewatch parts of the episode to better refresh my memory as to why I did what I did. - Ken
Thanks Ken. Assuming you were able to trigger Mar Tuuk and neither of you were double arcing you had 16 red dice at long range vs John’s 4 so I was wondering if there was some strategy I had missed in order to improve my own game. Always interesting to see different people’s thoughts and strategies. That’s how we improve right!
Great battle! Use some extra engineering against Mar Tuk to move shields (adjacent to areas being attacked) - minimize the bonus die, but also ensure you get rid of all shields to activate the penalty - don’t die with any shields left. Redirect becomes very important against Mar Tuk
Tranquility ven is great VS Mar tuk. Let him burn the facing arc shields, then use tranquility to essentially get 2 shields on that hull zone each attack. Cancels his extra dice, makes maximum use of your shields and still allows you to mitigate a bit
I’ve actually done a lot of Mar Tuuk vs Plo, and Plo has won more often than not in my experience. The control giving each of your bombers an accuracy is insane and always puts a lot more damage through.
@@IONRadio to bad you guys live halfway round the world, i would love to play a game of armada against each of you, my x-wing and armada community here is small but nice, yesterday we tried a homebrew-x-wing scenario with my homemade purrgils, it was fun :-)

In the second round where John attacks with the ywing the first time I am confused. (15:39) He measured range 1-3 from his venator to the ywing for the bonus but I don't think that's how plo works? Reading the card makes it seem like the ship you are attacking must be at range 1-3 of a friendly ship. It wasn't and he should not have applied the bonus?
@@IONRadio I know I've seen it before, but the timing on this one was perfect. And the silent pause afterward... you could just feel the hatred toward the red dice.
Half way point! John has thrown 118 red dice while averaging a 13.56% blank percentage after mods. He has thrown 109 black dice while averaging a 19.27% blank percentage after mods. Ken has thrown 141 red dice while averaging a 24.82% blank percentage after mods. He has thrown 64 black dice while averaging a 26.56% blank percentage after mods. John has definitely had better dice overall. And just for kicks Ken, you have received only 2 structural damages out of 19 crits taken (including flipped in this game) for only a slim 10.53%! Not too shabby!
I’m digging these percentages. It tells the story of me not relying on dice rerolls and John mitigating damage using defense ones. Equally good to know that Structural Damage cards don’t always come up. - Ken

55:45 - that's now how the station works - you heal when YOU end movement on it. So if you're on a station, and someone rams you, you DON'T heal the damage! You heal when YOU move and end on the station.
Right. John was making a little joke here saying “I don’t immediately heal that one off.” Typically John is doing the ramming and making a speed 0 maneuver removing the damage card he gets. - Ken
Was surprised to see you adding black dice with the LTT's for the squadron attacks. It says you can add dice of any color so why not blue for accuracy or reds (which you could reroll from the first effect of the card) for damage?
Black dice are the most reliable for getting damage. Some times it is better to just get an atrack that forces them to spend the scatter to line up shots later on than try and fish for accs. If you can roll 3 damage if they brace it will still be 2 going through or they spend the scatter and u can line up more shots to go for the discard. -John
Interesting to see Plo in action. A bit puzzled why the Munificent didn't salvo the Venator or just try to kill the Pelta when it was in double arc? Perhaps it wasn't in double arc? Just curious
So ahsoka converts the anti squad battery to snipe. Flight controllers adds a dice before the dice pool is gathered so you just need to use ahsoka first than flight controllers 2nd.
Nice use of Asoka and the y-wings! I think the separatist fleet was solid, it’s just a case of loosing the Rock Paper Scissors fight. Also being out deployed was a bit tough.
Blank percentages after mods: Red Dice: John 29.41% vs Ken 27.27% Black Dice: John 11.11% vs Ken 50%.
Happy 2000 subscribers! Another great video.

Some of the salvo dice pools were reduced due to critical damage cards, obstruction, and Mar tuuk making him cancel dice. -John
I’m curious how does Ashoka work with flight controllers?
So ahsoka converts the anti squad battery to snipe. Flight controllers adds a dice before the dice pool is gathered so you just need to use ahsoka first than flight controllers 2nd.
So if I were to pick a v19 for the snipe ability, they would get snipe 3 plus the extra blue from flight controllers, so I’d be rolling 4 correct?
