Could you please talk about "curiosity"? What entices curiosity or maybe "mystery" in games? It's important not just in-game to compel players to keep playing but also doing marketing material.

I play every game on every system that has pvp. I honestly can't put into words how much this video means to me. I'm buying the balance book asap thank you. The virtue of balance and justice in gaming is something I believe we are losing and nobody is discussing it or can discuss it I'm talking to you reddit moderators. It's almost too much to discuss in a single comment. My biggest issue is the weaponization of accessibility features against the community as tools for low skilled player retention tactics. The redefining and vilification of the word camper gives justification to allow certain metas also redefined as play styles. Now we have developer teams at the highest level building a philosophy of game design based on streamer/game changer feedback. in which there is much bias as those philosophies are driven from a profit self serving mindset. You would be surprised at the average understanding of even tech hardware which is way more researched and documented. So to let people that have experience playing but not balancing a game drive developer methodology provides huge fairness problems. Please do another essay on this topic, I would myself but with moderation at its highest It's pretty demotivating. That said, this video did give me some hope.

Don't particularly care for the "balance doesn't matter" argument.
Winning with Mimic Tear isn't fun. Holding back isn't either.
Beyond that, the game must unfocus it's design.
No boss in Elden Ring is built around the rock paper scissors of shields. It's 100% red light green light of telegraphed strikes.
If you want imbalance then you want an unbeatable mega threat like Mr. X or an unbeatable weakling like Young Ocelot.
