I forgot to add "raam refined" budget colored pencils. I did something a bit different with this set of budget pencils. Once I knew I liked them, the next month I bought a second set. That way, if I run out, I have 1 replacement. Oh, I bought a set of "four candies" mechanical colored pencils. It's only a 36ct. But I leave them in my bag for waiting in doctors offices. Imo they're real fun to play with.
Raam refine are nice. Good call getting a replacement set. 💕💕
I just noticed that kalour has come out with a set of "professional colored pencils" I've never seen them. They're kinda high priced. The 72ct is $29.00. Maybe by October I can afford to get them. I'm curious to see how they work. The look of the pencils is somewhat like the shpirer farbens
Hello. Kalour often uses terms like professional , premium and artist quality. This is just fraudulent advertising kalour pencils have a nice core and when you get a good pencil, are beautiful to use, but many have construction issues and break frequently. I am not trying to say they are bad pencils,I enjoy using mine but they are definitely not artist grade. I only point this out because I believe in an earlier comment you said you were new to coloring. Many people swear by these pencils but I personally believe that the kalour pencils are all the same,it’s just a matter of packaging and the number of pencils in the set. As a beginner I recommend sticking to under 150 in a set. once you get higher than that you get a lot of very very similar pencil colors and it can be a little overwhelming. But if you enjoy a huge variety they do make a 520 set Lol
First time watching you. Have you tried the amazon colored pencils? At most, I'm a beginner colorist,but I'm a cheap one.😅 for me, budget is a dangerous word. So I've tried a bunch. (The ones I don't like I give to my daughter for her classroom.) I love the faber-castell 100ct. But I also know they are more of a child's or teens pencil. They don't always work on every paper. And blending is a gentle affair. This is just my opinion. I've decided for me a 72 count is plenty. They usually give a dark, medium, and light of the colors I use most. The mark art colored pencils I like and kalours and and the brutfuner squares. Although it looks like the squares have jumped up in price. Those are the budget colored pencils I like. I hope this helps you. How did you go into dick Blick and stick to a budget? And your husband was really sweet to stop at a dick Blick.
Welcome!!!! Watch for some videos coming in the next month or two.I’ve been asked to do some pencil challenges. It’s hard to advise as we all color differently and have different likes. I prefer pencils you can get open stock so you can replace the colors you love and use the most. That said, I think Amazon basics aren’t bad for the price. Star joy gold are another good budget pencil in addition to those you mentioned. once you know for sure you love to color you can invest in a higher quality set with open stock. 💕
