Max Brenner doesn't exist.. well, he does but he's a real artist who has nothing to do with coloring books.. they stole his name. The book is AI. I think you would like Mayo's newer books better.. especially the "compilations" like mythical creatures, baby animals, etc that have more variety. I had a ton of problems with the paper until I started basing it in watercolor pencil, I hear the UK books won't take watercolor, but my US versions like it just fine. "Raising hand".. I don't like Hannah Lynn either lol.

I personally love them,they are so pigmented and they dont really crumble like my luminance do.They are expensive even in the UK,but as you can buy them on open stock that helps.

I don’t colour in with the seasons due to Australia is in the southern hemisphere and most of the colourist are in the northern hemisphere different seasons it would be cool if other colourist could include the season in southern hemisphere as we are coming into summer 🌺 in November.. thank you for sharing ❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx

Phew, such a long busy weekend! I was finally able to sit down and finish the last quarter of the video tonight. Such beautiful books and colored pages. I love the time flies when you’re having rum page. 😂 I also shouted out friar tuck when you showed our Cinderella buddy colour. 🤣🤣

I wish they would republish Denyse Klette's older books. It's so rare to find nice thick paper in a single sided book, and her illustrations are adorable.

Mythographic is what made me start coloring. I used to paint, but my situation changed and I had to go back to work full time and just didn't have the time to invest in it.. my work always took a month or so, but the last one was only about 14x20 and took five months lol. Coloring is much faster and easier to start and stop without a huge setup, much more portable. Anyway, the older ones especially can be really overwhelming/intimidating. I always start by basing them in pastel colors (unless I know an area will be dark, like a background), leaving metal and snow/glass white paper. You don't need to use a ton of colors either as you can get more variation with further coloring, just aim for the general highlight color. Fewer base colors also make a page more cohesive. Once that is done it's much easier to figure out what is what and just start chipping away at it one element at a time. As for the hidden objects, I just can't deal. I've tried covering them a million ways and it's never good enough for me. I've settled on not working in most of the really old books until I figure out a solution.. except for Joseph's from Odyssey on.. he started rebelling against the objects at that point and while they are still there they are much fewer, more appropriate, and never smack in the middle of a main subject. I keep hoping they will one day republish the best ones without. I used to buy all of them, but I've gotten more selective in the last couple of years. I don't care for any of the new artists and I feel like they are pumping them out too fast. Joseph is my favorite, followed by Fabinana. I always felt Alexandra's work was a bit "cliparty" but I think I have a book or two of hers. I've never been into the Mythogoria's and the paper in them is subpar compared to the main series, much thinner.

i have bought this set of 100 colours, and i find them creamy and nice… but i do find the colour chart a bit disappointing. A lot of similar colours, and mostly too dark. And Layering doesnt work very well also, after the layers start to get thicker, the colours gets „sticky“ with the point of the pencil, and the result gets very inconsistent. I do complement the missing colours buying the Caran d Ache Luminance open stock. My recommendation: if buying both sets is too expensive for you, get the Luminance and buy some Dewent Lightfast open stock to complement the Luminance (the other way around of what i am actually doing)., because the the Luminance are better.

I’m enjoying seeing your books very much. I’d love for you to do a color along in Fantasia. I’ve had it for a long time but have been nervous about it, because it’s so lovely I don’t want to mess it up and how many times have we all heard that?😂😂

Thank you for showing your collection. Some of them I Have such as the japanese cute, the Diane dufors books and rita Bermans. The west are no doubt lovely but not to my taste. I had really hoped when I heard the Rita Berman was bringing out a new book it would be a continuation of asia, europe and afrika. Maybe the Americas, north central and south.Many great and beautiful countries and scenes to do. Instead Hidden earth and ocean appear to be a rehash of land and sea under the microscope. what do you thing=k??? Lovely artwork.

It was lovely to see your thoughts about the book. I think this is her best book out there. I had a difficult time early on with the zendoodle style but once I actually colored a page I realized they are therapeutic for me. So I want to do a colored challenge next month to get in this book and other Johanna basford books. I would love to know what your first page will be in the book. :)

About Maria Trolle, I had the same feeling. I almost return the book. But I decided to paint a page. It was fun? Nope. My polychromos had a weird sensation on the page and I hated it. One month later I tried again. Using polychromos. And I loved. I simply loved how the page turned out!❤ so I tried a 3rd page because I have trust issues, and used mix medias, like waterbased markers, neocolo ii and luminance pencils. I am loving the result until now, and I am starting to understand ask the fuss about her books. So maybe you just need to do some pages 😅

I have bought all of Maria Trolles books the last 2 months, never looked at them before, but now I love them. Her newest release will come out in 2 days and I can't wait! My "meh Illustrator" that everybody else seems to love is Johanna Basford. I don't like her style at all, and find her pictures kind of boring with all the straight linework.

I have Country Charm by Teresa Goodridge. I've been working on a couple of pictures in it. One thing I've noticed is that the pics are very detailed. This book here seems to be the same way-- detailed. Just a heads up that it might take awhile to complete a page.
