      That's my goal! My parents never display any sign of affection for me. I know for sure, my dad loves me. He's just a shy guy and had it bad as a child. As for my mum, she's pure evil. Well...I did notice some positive changes in her as she's getting older but I never felt loved by her and never felt I have a mum even if she is still alive. I came to accept this reality and promised I would not be that kind of mum to my future child. I am now 2 months pregnant and I freaking out :D. This is a message for improvement for our generation, to make things better. Do not need to be like "I wish my parents followed these". In reality they always did the best they can from the information and experiences they had back then, which in comparison is miles better from their previous generation. And that is good, it's a proof of evolution.

      @ExportedImport i'm sorry, I guess the parents in the old days think that they are the king or queen of the house..they have rules and not complying with what they want they punish by hitting or spanking their children..I remember when we were small our parents will hit us with a stick if we do something they didn't like..and say something that really hurts emotionally, I remembered I just cried and even wish them to die😢 but I already ask for forgiveness from God for cursing my parents then...you are not alone...but please look at the brighter side, if you can go away from your parents, do it and strive hard to change your life, remove all the heartaches your parents have caused you, forgive them and move on with your life without them...and when the time comes that you'll have your own kids, treat them well and show them unconditional love...I hope you'll have a bright future ahead. God bless you.

My parents aren't perfect too, and if there's one thing I learned, it was to parent myself (be the parent to my own inner child that I wish my parents were to me) and give myself what I needed and the love that I was seeking and looking for since no one else was going to give it or do it for me. Wishing you better days and a beautiful life ahead. Sending you love and light. ♥ 🌈

    I love the comments about how their parents before them should have watched this or done better. Now that you are the expert you can show all the parents before you how great of a parent you are. Watching a few minutes of video is not going to change who we are. Unfortunately many think they have found the answer and can condemn those who came before them. Talk is cheap and parenting can be tough. No rhyme or reason for what can happen in life. I came from an abusive home but I know my parents loved us despite their shortcomings. They had lots of good in them too. It’s now my turn to look in the mirror and try to be better for my daughter. All the best and should anyone come across the parenting manual please send it my way. Parents are the picture of the world when the children comes into it, they learn from their parents every basic value of life which they carry all their life. And what impact they got of their parents speaks their position in the society. It's a Gen gap between a parent and a child but we still can fill that gap with love, pateince, understanding the age, and behaving accordingly with each other.

    I had horrible parents, and was a horrible one myself with my oldest. Now that I've had 2 more later in life, I've learned that by explaining things instead of spanking or forcing them, they respond SO much better. My 7 and 8 year old are so smart and well behaved. They're appalled by all the brats around them on a daily basis, and it makes me feel great when they complain about how bad all those other kids are. I'm really proud of myself and them. Everyday I hope to become a better parent so that they'll be perfect ones.

It's good to acknowledge between right and wrong behavior, I get that. But ultimately people who complain are not happy. Gratefulness is so much more healthy. Adore your child till they are 5 years of age, discipline them from 6-15, once they are 16, treat them like your friend!
    What an awesome advice! It also coincides with modern science which says most of rapid brain development and character formation happens till age 7...and this advice above gives us two windows...till 5 give your kid your unconditional love...and next 2 years falls under 'discipline' period with utmost impact! How brilliant!

    This really just reminded me of why I get anxiety when I hang out with my child and my family. It's really about their idea of how my child should act, knowing very well that I have a very good relationship and understanding of how my child is.... I still fall in the trap of wanting to be accepted by them and for them to see me a good parent. All in all, I say all this to say, that I will do better in advocating for my child when I am with him. He is deserving of the freedom to be accepted just as he is. There is such a thing as right from wrong that is important to teach to help protect & preserve life.
    Also certain things they do can bring a positive out come and wrong things they could enter into that is dangerous that definitely do exist in this world that can end their life or cause great suffering.🤷
    All make a point but Simon Bailey said it best.

    i just realized how toxic my parents are… everytime i was going to ask my dad a math question for my homework he would yell at me and i would say “im sorry father ill ask mom” my mom did the same thing and i had to rely on knowledge i didnt know, this kept happening and i decided to not ask for help anymore because i thought i would get yelled at, hit, or anything negative.. ended up getting a bad grade in math but others were all As and they started asking me “Why did u not get an A? and yelled at me” i was left alone and thought it was normal, this has been happening since second grade

    • @theadventurekidz-scienceho843
      @theadventurekidz-scienceho843 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The word toxic is overused. Maybe your parents didn’t know the math and were frustrated?

    • @LLnTTSquared
      @LLnTTSquared ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yelling in response to asking for help is not a normal response. That behavior was toxic. I don’t know if the people (your parents) were defined by this behavior, but I am sorry you had to go through that experience. Do your best, and consider asking for help from a teacher, guidance counselor or tutor. Keep striving!

    I don't mind any of this except that as a parent who teaches, leads, directs, guides and supports, promotes and learn from my children (if I had some), I have to share with them what I myself have experienced and learned of life, in life for life, because of life.
    Telling me that they should become who they are doesn't explain to me as a parent what the world does and how it plays against me allowing that.
    Which means simply that these very same people may know my children. What *they* say to them, what a 1000 other adults and 50,000 others say to them - what books, quotes, propaganda and false knowledge and worldly wisdom will say to my children will and or highly influence them to become something else other than who they really are.
    It is my and my wife's work to learn them as they age, to help their mind grows beyond their age.
    That is the key.
