  • I tested my new ReSound NEXIA hearing aids at one of Los Angeles' noisiest bars to evaluate their performance amidst challenging background noise. This video details all my observations and what I discovered about the technology's capabilities in a tough sound environment.

I am in the UK and now have the Jabra Enhance 20, which are I believe virtually identical to the Nexias. They are brilliant in restaurant and noisy places and I agree with you, in that sometimes it is best to just leave them in auto. Really find your vids useful and thanks very much. Regards Paul

It would be helpful to do this with the Jabra Pro 20's.

This was really helpful. I have the resound omnia top tier models, and was not aware that the normal programme was supposed to basically handle all noise around me. I have similar hearing loss to you, at 31 years old, my biggest problem is my audiologist is not that knowledgeable about these devices so I have a hard time honing in on the correct adjustments.

Glad you found it helpful. Yep, the automatic setting is my go-to in 90% of environments. Appreciate the comment!

When it comes to loud back ground noise or multiple conversations. Do you have a preference between resound nexia and rexton reach?

Great video, it would have been cool if you could have some how recorded a conversation with someone you were talking to but maybe that's not possible. I have huge problems in noisy environments. I'm trying the Lexie B2 now, I know they are nowhere near the level of Nexia but on one of the websites it got one of the highest ratings in noisy environments, they did not work at all! Actually my AirPods Pro 2 do a good job of blocking out noise! I've and a few other hearing aides that had noisy environment programs and they did not work at all nor did the ones that were supposed to adjust automatically. I want to buy the best hearing aides that really do perform in noisy environments and rally do make the adjustments, many claim to do it but most do not. If you fee these are by far the best hearing aides out thee for noisy environments I'm going to trey them. THIS WAS A GREAT, VIDEO, GREAT IDEA! THANKS FOR DOING IT. This is by far the biggest issue we all have in noisy places!

Have you tried any higher-end prescription devices? Another OTC device to check out is Sennheiser All Day Clear. We actually just started selling that product directly because we think it's one of the best values on the market. It sounds a lot like Phonak Lumity. www.soundly.com/product/sennheiser-all-day-clear
