We will never have another. Bette is absolutely spectacular. She could teach a Master’s class on acting. Hollywood Glamour at its finest. I wish she was in my Family, I think that would have been divine.
The head of Warner Bros. Jack L. Warner was asked one time to define the term MOVIE STAR and he said Bette Davis. There never was nor never will be another one like her. Bette Davis was one in a million.
Her and many of the oldies, they sure don't make them like they use too...great movies, great story lines, great actors/actress's, even the ones that are rated "B" or "C', or according to the talking heads weren't that good....i think they are great !
I like what she says about the culture around "great actors" because I feel she is saying that an actor must always be challenged and not fall to type.
My cable company, Xfinity, just took TCM from me. I have to pay more for it now. Thank God I have most of (Star of the Month) Bette's best films on DVD.

GREAT list of BD films ya got there! 👍👌 ESPECIALLY with A Stolen Life & Dead Ringer … she played those psychotic body double/twin sister roles to PERFECTION! 😃🤩👏👏 But how could you NOT include perhaps her greatest role ever in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?? 🥺
They didn’t often refer to her as “Bulletproof Bette” for nothing! 😎 A brash, outspoken, and highly controversial woman who didn’t take crap from anyone … but also a classy, unique, and absolutely frickin’ TALENTED individual as well … she was truly a once-in-a-lifetime actress! ❤️ Warner Bros. hit the damn jackpot when they made her their premier contract star @ the time … and BOY, did she ever deliver the goods! 🤩👍👍👏

Bette Davis had to protect her interests. Nobody else would. This began in her childhood. As she said playing string women was in her nature.
As with so many Hollywood greats, Bette had to TEACH the studio patiently what they had under contract.
