found some mushrooms in button stage: brown capped mushroom with a yellow fibrous cortina. flesh is lilac just under the pillipilus and some lilac in stem but mostly white on the inside, and mostly brownish on the outside of buttons. any idea? must be a cortinarius because of the orb web like cortina?
Last weekend Found one tall thin cap size of a dime all by itself ,well probably by now family popped up !! Young in life the PURPLE MUSHROOM, ment only one thing. Misnomer it seems

Wait...Ive spent a year freaking out about IDing cantinarius and blewits correctly and the species of cantinarius that can be misidentied as a blewit is also edible?? They are both edible??

These are mycorrhizal. That is, you can't grow it as it grows in connection with trees.
