This was so much fun to make. I shot and edited the whole thing solo. I wish I could make more videos like this, but they never perform well on TH-cam. Help me out by sharing this video with everyone you think would be interested. I hope it gets plenty of views so I can make more videos like it going forwards.
The hardest thing was shooting this solo. Before the race finishes, you have no idea who is gonna win, what stories you're going to be able to tell, etc, etc. So, you're just running around shooting everything you can in the hope you'll be able to string a story together in the edit. If I do one again, I'd definitely take a few extra cameramen to get more footage and more stories. Still 10/10 - loved the experience.
Hi Joe, r u on bilibili? I think I saw this title there? Anyways, gotta say this is a great video n fun to watch, more so considering u shot everything on yer own, kudos!
Just echoing everyone else here when I say you did a great job. The atmosphere you create in the editing and music reminds me of BTP (Beyond the Peloton), the AAA series Garmin Cervelo produced many moons ago. That was top notch stuff.
Joe, why don't you do some stories on the road cycling culture in other asian countries. I have watched quite a few videos from various Korean road cycling influencers and it really seems like road cycling is a MUCH more popular pasttime there than in other countries. Channels like Mindy Cycling, Wonderkitty, Genieriding and others show Korean cycling events and locations that seem to be filled with LOTS of cyclists there. Way more that I have ever seen similar events here in the USA.
Thanks. Very different to my normal style of video, and I'm sure the videos will be pants, but it's the kind of video I like to make. :) If just one or two people enjoyed watching it, I'm happy.
Really nice video! We just had the Tour de Langkawi here in Malaysia and now many of the teams are going to Hainan. This year the Tour of Hainan will be televised over here.
I think we need more media like this reporting competitions inside China, which would connect east and the west, also would expand this narrow cycling market.

Great video! I really enjoyed watching it!
I definitely love seeing the global love for cycling! Great video!
Bin off the YT and become a film producer!
In an alternate universe maybe, haha. Thanks for the love.
This was dope!!!! Thanks for taking us along

This was Brilliant Joe , loved the style of the vid , and we down under would never get that much coverage of a 'Asian' tour race !!!!
Awesome job mate! Really really cool.
Great stuff, Joe. I really enjoyed watching that. It was good to see local riders doing so well.
This was awesome, great work.
Fantastic video! Got me excited to go out and ride more!
Awesome Vid 💯👍😎 Nice one, Joe! 👏👏👏
Thanks! 👍
That was some inspirational video footage
Really nice video! We just had the Tour de Langkawi here in Malaysia and now many of the teams are going to Hainan. This year the Tour of Hainan will be televised over here.
Awesome! Every SE Asian cyclist I've met has been really humble and talented.
Very well made Joe. Great storytelling. Respect 🤌
Thanks dude. The audio isn't to your high standards, but... haha. it is what it is...
@@ChinaCycling haha its on point 🤌
Great job on the video!!!
Great short film ! Talented Joe
Appreciate the insight! Always wondered about those types of races!
Incredible job !!!
Great start 👌 keep filming more. There's a lot to improve both technically and from a story pov. Do they make a live coverage of those races?
The production value is off the charts
Nice one Joe!!! Short Film
Much appreciated!
What an excellent film China Cycling.... really conveys the emotions and grit of the competitive scene in China - thank you!
Hopefully it helps share the experience.
One incredible video once again!!!
Real recognises real homie.
Great job Joe!!💪💪
More to come!
Wow what a great film.. 😊 excellent production really enjoyed watching this.. well done 👍👍😃🚴🏻🥇 Pete
Thanks Pete! Was a pleasure to make.
Great film, Joe! Makes me miss racing over there!
Hey Josh! You're still a legend of the expat racing scene over here. Lemme know if you're ever in town.
Genuinely brilliant stuff, this almost makes me ok with the ride wake up time today 😂
joe , keep making content like this
You keep watching, I'll keep making!
You should participate in some races in China. The 黄山 road race in late march time frame should suit light weight climber like you.
One man show you are ! 🎉🎉❤❤ incredible! I was waiting for a mention of my PH team Go for gold 😆 they were there too, top 6 in stage 1
They were there! They were mixing it up! But as a one man show, I can only shoot so many teams / riders. Maybe next episode!
Could you make a video about the different bike and equipment brands being used in the Chinese or Asian racing scene, respectively?
Really well done. 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
That Cam Ivory is a weapon, hunts for wins on and off the bike!!
Well that was very good 👌
just wow!
more of this please
You keep watching, I'll keep making
Very interesting view 👍👏🏻
Love this race coverage. Better than Bob Roll!
Is there a good hybrid carbon bike do you recommend? most Chinese carbon videos are about crazy aero road bikes. Thanks
Well made
Thanks for watching! :)
Very good
Thanks! A pleasure to make.
Videos like this make you understand why your XXL jersey fits like a M
I think we need more media like this reporting competitions inside China, which would connect east and the west, also would expand this narrow cycling market.
I'll keep making if people keep watching.
#Noice
I was a little disappointed, all interviews, no action.
For the safety of the riders, the commissaires are super protective. Don't let media motos get too close. I guess it's a good thing tho...
In a nutshell - moshpit racing.
Balls to the wall
🫶Something different, this was fun.
